I would like to thank Acer Court Care Home for my mother's 90th birthday party. They provided a function room and refreshments with excellent sandwiches and drinks. This allowed my mother to see all her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and old neighbours. The function room had been decorated by the carers and allowed for a party atmosphere. My mother who is usually asleep a lot, really perked up at the sight of all of us. She really enjoyed herself, as did my 91-year-old father and all of us. Well done Acer Court.
Acer Court always enjoys holding a party for our residents' birthdays. We are pleased your mother was able to spend the afternoon with her family/friends surrounding her and everyone involved enjoyed their afternoon. Best wishes, Katie.
We asked Acer if it would be possible for the family (in total 20+, Children + Grandchildren + Great-grandchildren) to come and visit Mum on her 90th Birthday.
Acer's reply was superb, they said they would set aside one of the lounges and lay on drinks and sandwiches for the event which was marvellous. Then, when we arrived, we found they had gone the extra mile to decorate to room blow up balloons and put part pops on the tables to make it feel like a party venue rather than a care home lounge.
I don’t know why I was surprised as this care home really does try to make it feel more like a home than a care home and make all the family feel welcome when we visit and part of the overall care home family.
Thanks to everyone who made celebrating this 90th achievement; a truly memorable day and looking after my mother so well.
At Acer Court, we like to enjoy all residents and families get the full treatment. This allows time for you to relax and make special memories with your mother. We are so pleased you enjoyed your day with us. It's our privilege to look after your mother. Best wishes.
Thank you.
We are pleased Dad had a lovely week's respite, we enjoyed looking after Dad. We are pleased you had peace of mind when you were on holiday. Thank you for your lovely comments on the food and facilities our team work very hard to maintain high standards. Best wishes, Katie.
Nice new looking property, but at the end of the day a building is just a building, so it's the staff that turn a building into a warm, friendly home life atmosphere with their attitude and caring personalities towards the residents, visitors, and co-workers.
A pleasant place to spend time with family. The staff are always friendly and helpful. Common rooms are well laid out and accessible with a variety of games and activities. The food served to residents is of a high quality with extra precautions taken during the pandemic to help protect both residents and staff. More like a hotel than a care home.

Mum moved into Acer Court in October 2022. She had been in the hospital for four weeks and was very withdrawn three months later; she is a different person. She loves the activities and joins in with most of the activities. She loves singing, and she has a lovely room and ensuite. Mum has made friends with other residents and enjoys meals in the dining room. All the staff are kind, caring and respectful. Visiting Mum is always enjoyable. I know I don't have to worry when I go home.

Acer Court is a lovely home, peaceful and well maintained. My mother moved here a couple of years ago, and I know she is in a safe and caring environment. The staff are very friendly and caring. As a family, we feel contented that Mum is getting the best care for her needs, as I myself have worked in similar premises. I value the way Mum is free to venture out into the garden and feel free to an extent. 10/10 for everything.

Meet the Team (6)

My name is Gemma and I am the manager here at Acer Court. I have worked for Avery for over 8 years now developing my skills from a deputy manager in a busy Avery nursing home, in Staffordshire, to becoming a successful manager at sister home Alder House and now transferring to Acer Court.
I am from Stoke on Trent and I have worked in the healthcare industry for 18 years, completing most roles that you would find in a regular care home and working my way up to the manager role completing many qualifications along the way. My main experience, knowledge and background is in Dementia care and this is an area of care that I am most passionate about.
Outside of my career, I love to go to the gym Subsequently, this has led to me signing up for many charity events such as white-collar boxing, half marathons and various assault courses. I just love to help people, in any way I can.

My role is to help families and residents navigate their care journey, from the initial enquiry to move in and beyond.

A key part of my role is planning our activity program, which supports the physical, social, and psychological well-being of our residents.

I have been a member of the team at Acer Court for nearly 10 years now, working in a variety of roles, gaining experience and understanding of our home.
I love working front of house, where I enjoy welcoming families, having a cup of tea and a chat.

Meet Harry, our dedicated Maintenance Operative at Acer Court.
For nearly 7 years, Harry has been a valued part of the team, always ready to help with any maintenance tasks, support activities and events.

Lisa is a valued member of our team. She doesn’t just cook delicious meals for our residents; she also supports our events by baking amazing cakes.
Lisa loves a challenge and enjoys exploring traditional foods from different cultures.
