My dad has been in the care of Lincombe Manor for a whole month now, having arrived from our hospital, where he had been for one month, and the improvement in my dad is amazing, all due to the care and compassion from the staff. I feel my dad is very well cared for, he is safe and all the staff are lovely. The food is lovely and caters to your needs. I leave after a visit feeling assured he is certainly receiving the best care possible, thank you Nichola and your team.
It makes us all very...
Please note the only negative comment from my mother was she was woken abruptly one morning by a woman not in uniform who she didn't know/recognise and never saw again?!
Thank you for taking the time to leave such a lovely review. It is wonderful to hear that your mum found her stay comfortable, clean and homely, and that she enjoyed the companionship of the other residents. It's especially pleasing to know she appreciated the freedom of choice we aim to offer and...
We chose this home because of the CQC rating of good, this is clearly out of date. It is poorly managed and predominantly a money making concern. Individual carers try hard but there is not enough of them and qualified staff contribute little. My mother was discharged there from hospital where she had become malnourished and dehydrated. Wehn we visited there drinks and suppliments on a table in her room which she could not reach and she was thirsty. We coud not get reliable information on her continence issues and she didn't eat because the food was so poor. She was paying nearly £2000 per week and the profit margins are enhanced by poor quality food and insufficient staff. She was unhappy. the nursing staff solution was to push for antidepressants despite her previous history of confusion we were ignored, representing mums interests labelled us as difficult. They day she left this expensive poorly run facility we were delighted.
We pride ourselves on the person-centred care we provide, supported by good staffing...
My grandma had a 4 week respite stay at Mewitt Lodge, part of Lincombe Manor Care Centre. When I visited her she looked well cared for and happy. Hewitt Lodge and Lincombe Manor really is a home from home. What a delight to see not only my grandma, but all the residents and staff looking so happy. I cannot recommend this care home enough!
Thank you so much for taking the time to write this wonderful review and recommendation. It was our pleasure to meet and care for your grandma, and she is welcome back at any time. She certainly appeared to enjoy her stay with us. Its lovely to hear that you found everyone looking so happy.
The care my stepmum receives is in my opinion is very good the staff are extremely caring and helpful, the reception staff are always very welcoming, helpful and friendly. The activities that are arranged are vital to keep residents mentally and sociably active. My stepmum has settled in very well.
Thank you so much for your lovely feedback. It means a great deal to our whole team to hear that your stepmum has settled in so well and is enjoying life with us. We are delighted that you have found our staff caring and supportive, and that our reception team has made you feel so welcome, as I...

My husband was admitted after a stroke. The team are so caring and thoughtful. We have a little dog and were made so welcome that he was allowed to come and visit. Very happy with the services provided.

Absolutely first class
Thank you for your review. I will share your comments with the team, it's always reassuring when people recognise that we are first class here at Lincombe Manor Care Centre.
Mum is being looked after royally. Staff really friendly and accommodating on every level. Great activities daily.
Thank you so much for your kind review of your experience here at Lincombe Manor. It means a lot to us to receive such positive feedback. It has been wonderful to see mum joining in with so many of the activities on offer and forming friendships within the home. It is our pleasure to care for her.
My dad has been a resident at Lincombe Manor Care Centre for several years and became very poorly at the end of November resulting in palliative care being in place up to when he passed on 1st December. I couldn't have asked for better care for my dad and have always known he was loved and cared for by the staff. However, how the team dealt with the last week of his life was exceptional. As a result of the care Dad assed peacefully, without intervention, he wasn't in pain and the end was very dignified. I still have another relative as a resident who is equally well looked after.
Thank you for your review. We feel so lucky to have been trusted by your family to care for your dad and are glad that Lincombe was the home that you chose for him to come to. He holds a very special place in our hearts and was a bit of a Lincombe legend. We take pride in knowing that you found our care to be exceptional and were able to feel the love and care from our team.
I was advised by nursing staff that my father was approaching end of life. I drove to the centre to hold vigil. From the moment I arrived I was subject to the most fantastic support. Staff were courteous, respectful and most of all, honest with me and my family. Nothing was too much trouble and I shall forever hold those individuals in my heart for their spport. My father died after three days and I am grateful for the advice and support, and privacy, proffered by the team, thank you is not enough.
Thank you for this heartfelt review. It was a true privilege to care for your father. We were all so fond of him and he is deeply missed. We are very fortunate at Lincombe Manor to have such a great team, they will all be so proud of your lasting memory of the fantastic support you and your family received during what was a sad time for you all. Your feedback means a lot to all of us.
The second time when she was moving house and needed two weeks care between selling and buying her new home.
Both stays were exemplary. All staff were attentive, timely, very friendly and reassuring. The nursing care was thorough and sensitive to her needs. The staff were so welcoming and helpful to both mum and the family when necessary and we always felt that they had gone that extra step to ensure mum's comfort and safety.
I would recommend this Care Centre without hesitation.
Thank you so much for your wonderful review. With the GM on leave I have the pleasure of saying thank you to you and your mother for being such advocates of Lincombe Manor care centre. The team will be bursting with pride when they read how much you appreciate them and what a difference they make...
Lincombe Manor home is a superb home. Great staff and manager. Sea views from windows and roof terrace. My mum has been here ten weeks and I have visited her every day. The nurses are very good, keeping you up to date on care given. The home enjoys fun activities. The food is freshly made and of a high standard. Coffee and tea offered to guest. As a daughter I would highly recommend this home to anyone wanting a place for a loved one. They go above and beyond.
Thank you for such a lovely review and your recognition of how the team go above and beyond by maintaining that all important channel of communication that keeps you up to date with every aspect of your loved ones progress. It has been a pleasure caring for your mum and meeting your family, we have...
Excellent right across the board! Does this mean that Lincombe Manor is perfect? Of course not. Perfection is impossible, especially considering the ever changing requirements and issues associated with caring for the elderly. What I can say is that my wifes mother has been cared for with compassion, dignity and dare I say it, even love by the staff at this really lovely facility. My wife and I have visited every day for the last nine weeks and have observed very speedy responses to all situations that have arisen and both staff and management have been really cooperative and communicative throughout. Plus, the food is great too. We thank all who work here from the bottom of our hearts.
Thank you so much for taking the time to write such a fabulous review. What lovely words you have used to describe the care that you have observed. We are blessed to have such a dedicated and compassionate team. Your mother-in-law has made such an impression on all of us, we are so pleased that we...
My dad was taken into Lincombe manor in July 2025 directly from hospital.I felt very emotional and so thankful that we had been lucky to find such a wonderful place for my dad to spend his last days . Nicola and all her team were amazing All of the Nursing staff really took great care of my dad's dignity and care and were so respectful , I thank them all for that. Sadly my dad passed away on the 13th of August . But the short stay he had in Lincombe manor was wonderful , as they always included my mother and always made her feel welcome . Thank-you all
Thank you so much for this heartfelt review. Your words have made me feel quite emotional. I am so pleased that you have lasting memories of the dignity and respect shown for your dad - he was a wonderful man, and it was an honour to care for him. Meet the Team (9)

I was appointed as General Manager of Lincombe Manor Care Centre in January 2024. I qualified as a General Nurse in January 2003 after completing my training in Exeter with the University of Plymouth. I remained in Exeter, working at The Nuffield Hospital as a junior nurse and at The Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital. I then joined the care sector which led me towards working as a Clinical Care Manager with Elizabeth Finn Homes for 10 years, which I thoroughly enjoyed.
Away from work, I live in Exeter with my husband and two children, Freya and Harrison. I enjoy horse riding, walking my two dogs and holidaying with my family.

My name is Helen, and I am the Clinical Lead RN here at Lincombe Manor Care Centre. I began my nurse training in 1985, starting in hospital settings in Herefordshire, Lincolnshire and South Devon. I have always felt very blessed to be able to find a career which I feel so proud and passionate about.
I relocated back to South Devon from Lincolnshire in 2017, which is when I began my journey at Lincombe Manor Care Centre, progressing in my role from RN, to Senior RN and becoming Clinical lead in 2024.
Away from work, I enjoy walking in beautiful Devon. I love nature and its vast variety of birds and animals. That said, I am equally happy to sit in a café with a good book and a latte, on a rainy day.

Hello, my name is Grace and I have worked at Lincombe Manor Care Centre for 8 years but have been a Nurse for 16 years. I am a very experienced nurse and very much enjoy my job and being at Lincombe Manor. I enjoy looking after and socialising with the residents, each one is very special. I am a hard worker and take my role very seriously but can also relax and enjoy time with the residents and my fellow colleagues. In my spare time, I enjoy food, singing and learning to play my guitar. I am also very close to my family.

My name is Sinead and I have been here at Lincombe for 2 years as a senior RN, but I have been a Registered Nurse for 21 years.
Originally from Ireland, I moved over to England and now enjoy Nursing in the beautiful South West.
When not working I spend lots of time with my two beautiful children, who mean the world to me.

My name is Holly and I am the lead Administrator here at Lincombe Manor Care Centre. Some of my roles are calculating and running payroll, aiding Head Office with admissions and petty cash and ensuring all admin is correct and up to date. I am well supported by Karen and between us we keep Admin running smoothly. You will find Karen in reception, always happy to listen and help.
Before I was an Administrator, I worked as a Mental Health Care Assistant for over 12 years, gaining various NVQs and qualifications in the process. I particularly enjoy the HR side of my role, as I feel that all of our staff are very important and need to be looked after well.
When I am not working, I spend time with my husband, Pete, and our young Son, along with our new puppy Miniature Dachshund, Bean, who you may have seen sitting in Reception on occasion. I am here to help you in any way that I can, so please don’t be afraid to ask.

My name is Denise Barry and I've worked here in Lincombe Manor for 7 years I joined as a Senior Care assistant then trained to be a care practitioner. In April 2022 I completed my Level 5 Diploma and became an Assistant Practitioner where I not only get to support the residents health and social needs but work closely with our Nurses to provide high standards of nursing care to all who live at Lincombe. I've been working in the care sector for over 25 years, I've worked in residential and nursing homes, working with dementia residents and adults with learning disabilities. In my spare time, I enjoy socialising with my friends and family.

My name is Joanna and I am a Senior Care Assistant at Lincombe Manor Care Centre. My husband and I moved to Devon 6 years ago and I was previously working in the motor trade. After looking after my mum prior to moving into a care home herself, I decided to change career and look after other people in their day to day living. I have been here since April 2019 and enjoy all aspects of my job.

Hello, my name is Naomi and I have been working at Lincombe Manor Care Centre since 2022. I completed my level 3 in Health and Social Care at college and applied for a job here. I was first offered a position on the Wellbeing Team which I really enjoyed but when an opening became available for a Healthcare Assistant, I had to apply as that was my passion. I got the role and was a Healthcare Assistant for 1 year before being offered a Senior Healthcare Assistant position which I accepted. I really enjoy my job. I love to spend time with the residents and make them look and feel nice by helping with their hair and make-up.
In my spare time, I like to travel and spend time with my partner, family and friends. I enjoy festivals and being outside in the sunshine, summer is my favourite time of the year.

Hi, I am Caroline, but you can call me Cazz.
I started at Lincombe in 2026 and love it here. Before here, I was a specialist cleaner for a pharmaceutical company. This involved deep cleaning and sterilising rooms and equipment. I like to believe my standards are high!
I'm a bit of a cinema buff, and in my spare time I like to go and watch the latest films. I also love to spend time with my amazing family. If you see me walking around, please feel free to come and say hi.
