I can't thank all the staff enough for all their hard work each day - and look forward to visiting. Set in such a beautiful location with amazing views - I know my mum feels very lucky to be there .
Thank you for such a super review. It is reassuring to us to know that mum feels comfortable and secure here at Lincombe Manor Care Centre and that the friendliness of our staff has given her strength. I certainly hope there will be many more years of visits and laughter. We look forward to your visits too and feel lucky to have the wonderful woman that is your mum living here.
They showed us around the care centre. I found it very homely and warm and all the staff had time for us.
After going around a few care homes this one Lincombe Manor came out of far and above the rest.
Hello. Thank you so much for taking the time to post such a lovely review. With the General Manager on leave I have taken the liberty of saying thank you from all of the team who care for your loved one. We all appreciate your kind words and sharing your thoughts on Lincombe being far and above the rest.
My stay at Lincombe Manor Care Centre was only for a few days, so it is difficult for me to give an overall assessment, but I would like to say that during that time, I was very well looked after in every aspect. There was always the comfort of knowing that if you needed help day or night, it was there at a touch of a button. The food was excellent, a great choice, always well cooked and hot. Help with personal matters was always available and the facilities were kept very clean. I cannot comment on activities as my stay was too short, but there appear to be many things available to do if you were so inclined. I am very grateful to the management & staff for a very happy experience. Thank you very much.
Thank you for your delightful review capturing your short stay at Lincombe Manor Care Centre. It is immensely important to us that people feel well looked after and made to feel secure in the knowledge that care is always on hand. The kitchen team are thrilled to hear that you found their food to...
During that time I made numerous visits.
The standard of care, the staff, the building, the facilities, entertainment etc was simply outstanding. Cannot fault one minute of his near 7 year stay.
Cannot recommend highly enough.
Thank you for your lovely review. We certainly miss your father-in-law at Lincombe Manor, he was a larger-than-life character. As a family you would have seen many changes over the 7 years that he was here, and I am delighted that the standard of care and all that Lincombe Manor has to offer remained outstanding. We are over the moon to know that you cannot recommend us highly enough.
The home itself is super clean, nice individual rooms, lovely light and spacious lounges and terraces overlooking the town. Plenty of activites for the residents. I would call Lincombe a hotel with care facilities.
I can not recommend Lincombe Manor highly enough .
What a glorious review to read. Lincombe Manor Care Centre truly is the best care home, and I am grateful that you recommend us so highly. Your dad was an amazing man and we miss him dearly. He brought a lot of joy to the team with plenty of his wise words of advice being taken on board by many of...
Fabulous location.
Better than fabulous staff - kind, caring, patent, interested and fun.
My second respite stay and I will return!
What a fabulous review! I'm so pleased that you have enjoyed each of your respite stays with us. We have enjoyed having you here and look forward to your return. It is a fabulous location and we are spoilt with our gorgeous views out across the bay. Thank you for your recognition of our kind, caring and patient team. I'm glad that they were able to make your respites with us fun experiences.
Since moving from another care home where I was very unhappy, Lincombe is a lovely place to live. The staff make me laugh. The food is lovely. I'm very happy.
Thank you for your delightful review. I am so pleased that you have found happiness living at Lincombe Manor. It is a lovely place to live with a fun atmosphere that is clearly having a positive effect on making you laugh. All of the team will be so happy about your review, especially our chefs knowing that you are enjoying the food!
Very caring staff. All requests attended to. Comfortable room and pleasant sitting room with pleasant outlook (when not raining!).
Thank you for your review. It is wonderful to know that all of the staff are very caring towards you and are able to tend to all of your requests. We are very blessed with the outlook. I can't wait for the brighter days so we can enjoy it even more.
The staff, food, and quality of care are outstanding.
Everyone is so friendly.
Thank you for such a delightful review. It always brings a smile to the teams faces reading reviews that acknowledge the outstanding quality of care they provide. It is lovely to read that everyone is so friendly from such a frequent visitor as yourself. We always look forward to your visits.
My mum has been a resident at Lincombe Manor for over five years. When she was first admitted we thought she might have only months to live but it is a testament to the excellent care given by all the wonderful staff that she is still with us and today we celebrated her 90th Birthday. We thought Mum would struggle to live in a care home because she has always been fiercely independent but Lincombe Manor has clearly given her a new lease of life, many thanks to the manager and the wonderful caring and friendly staff, who are professional at all times.
Thank you for such a wonderful review. It means a great deal to us at Lincombe when we see the recognition of our efforts from established relatives such as yourselves. To know that you trust us to provide excellent care for Mum after five years really is a testament to the team's passion for...
Own a fourth-year anniversary, the love shown by all staff is and continues to be superb. And the care shown is still the very best. My thanks to all who look after my wife.
Four years! How can that be! If this past year of my joining Lincombe Manor has been as pleasurable as your previous three years then I am privileged to be part of your continued happiness with the care we provide for your darling wife. We wouldn't be without either of you. Thank you for your constant support and kindness.
Mum really enjoys the activities. When she is able to attend. They always make them good fun for the residents.
Thank you to all the caring staff for looking after our mum so well. It is such a comfort to know she is safe and we all feel part of the family when we visit.
What a beautiful review, thank you. It is our pleasure to care for your mum and to enable her to live well. It is good to know that you and your family have peace of mind in the knowledge that your mum is being well cared for and that all of your concerns are dealt with immediately. We are very...
As a self funding resident, whom at the age of 94 we expected better care and communication for premium rates. Poor communication, leading to a very poorly Dad admitted to hospital. Dangerously high blood pressure and bruising that couldn't and wouldn't be explained. A manager that runs a care home more like a business than a care provider. Wouldn't take our concerns seriously - emergency removal to another home. Beware, the building might be beautiful but is the care?
It is disappointing to read your review. We understand it is difficult when a loved one is unwell. When you raised your concerns to me at the time, I took them seriously and offered to meet with you, which you declined to do. Both CQC and Safeguarding also reviewed your concerns and confirmed that...
My mother received the best care and support from everyone at Lincombe Manor Care Centre. Love, comfort and dignity were always given to her. The same kindness was given to me as a visitor, it was so kind and reassuring. The facilities were of a high standard and beautiful location, the very best I could have wished for. Thank you to all.
Thank you for your review. It makes us feel proud when we know that we are delivering outstanding care and support to our residents and their relatives. It's heartwarming to hear that you felt reassured by our facilities management and beautiful location. It truly is a wonderful spot to spend quality time with family.
The care of our late mother was absolutely outstanding with kindness, empathy and professionalism for our mother and for us as a family. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble and in the most beautiful of settings.
It was our pleasure looking after your mother during the short period of time that she was with us. It was a sad time for you, but I am reassured to know that the experience was made more bearable by the outstanding kindness and empathy shown by our team and that you felt the high level of professionalism, not only for your mother but towards yourself.
If you are looking for five-star accommodation and facilities then Lincombe Manor is the right care home for you.
Thank you for this fabulous review. We always look forward to when your dad stays. He brings an element of fun with him each time. It is a friendly home and we are pleased that this can be felt by those that come here. It's important to us that everyone feels at home and reassured that their...
All professional, whilst being friendly. Mum has improved tremendously and is better than in quite some time. Good to see her chatting with staff and other residents. Laughing a lot too! Staff have helped with Mum to phone friends and family.
We have had regular updates on the process of assessment, her treatment and her improvements too.
I knew Mum needed to be there but I was not looking forward to spending time there myself. I should not have worried. It is a pleasant and welcoming place and I've sat and joined in with jigsaws, crosswords etc.
Thank you for your review. I'm pleased that you were able to feel the support that the team have to offer. They are very knowledgeable and able to provide good advice. It's nice to hear that your mum improved due to the care that she received in Hewitt. Laughter is the best therapy! Friends and...
This review is for Hewitt Lodge. Our elderly (91) family friend has been at Hewitt Lodge until recently after being discharged from hospital after hip surgery. The staff were all very kind and attentive and he enjoyed his stay there. The care he received was very respectful and delivered with a sense of humour which he appreciated. He really enjoyed the food and the facilities were excellent. He has fully agreed to me writing a review for them.
Thank you so much for such a positive review. The staff in Hewitt are indeed very kind and attentive and work incredibly hard in supporting people in preparation for their return home. They certainly do have a great sense of humour so it's lovely to hear your friend was so appreciative of it. I'm...
From the moment you enter the building, it is obvious that this is a care home of high quality. The admin team are always on hand to help with any questions and handle them swiftly, efficiently and always with a smile. The care staff are second to none. Nothing is too much trouble. There is also an army of unsung heroes/heroines behind the scenes who work just as hard to make the residents feel at home, from keeping the home clean, hanging a picture on the wall, keeping the residents entertained, cooking high-quality meals, delivering drinks and so much more. The nursing care is also second to none. Happiness radiates throughout the building. The staff take very good care of the residents and also care for their relatives. Although my mother's illness caused constant pain, she embraced Lincombe Manor life as much as she was able and the last few weeks of her life were as happy as they could possibly have been.
This review made me feel so emotional when I read it. I know the decision to trust us to care for your mother during the final stages of her life was a difficult one, but we are honoured that you chose us. My goodness though, didn't she settle in and enjoy all that we had to offer. It was our...
I have been visiting Lincombe Manor twice a week for over a year and always find dedicated and friendly staff from the minute you enter the building. The care centre has a calm and happy atmosphere and I always feel very welcome and at home while I'm there. It's not unusual to hear a member of staff singing softly or sharing a funny story while going about their duties.
Thank you for this wonderful review. The team will be so happy when they read this as am I. It makes us proud knowing that we create such a calm and happy atmosphere. We always strive to make people feel welcome at Lincombe Manor and your experience shows that we are getting it right.

Meet the Team (9)

I was appointed as General Manager of Lincombe Manor Care Centre in January 2024. I qualified as a General Nurse in January 2003 after completing my training in Exeter with the University of Plymouth. I remained in Exeter, working at The Nuffield Hospital as a junior nurse and at The Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital. I then joined the care sector which led me towards working as a Clinical Care Manager with Elizabeth Finn Homes for 10 years, which I thoroughly enjoyed.
Away from work, I live in Exeter with my husband and two children, Freya and Harrison. I enjoy horse riding, walking my two dogs and holidaying with my family.

My name is Helen, and I am the Clinical Lead RN here at Lincombe Manor Care Centre. I began my nurse training in 1985, starting in hospital settings in Herefordshire, Lincolnshire and South Devon. I have always felt very blessed to be able to find a career which I feel so proud and passionate about.
I relocated back to South Devon from Lincolnshire in 2017, which is when I began my journey at Lincombe Manor Care Centre, progressing in my role from RN, to Senior RN and becoming Clinical lead in 2024.
Away from work, I enjoy walking in beautiful Devon. I love nature and its vast variety of birds and animals. That said, I am equally happy to sit in a café with a good book and a latte, on a rainy day.

Hello, my name is Grace and I have worked at Lincombe Manor Care Centre for 8 years but have been a Nurse for 16 years. I am a very experienced nurse and very much enjoy my job and being at Lincombe Manor. I enjoy looking after and socialising with the residents, each one is very special. I am a hard worker and take my role very seriously but can also relax and enjoy time with the residents and my fellow colleagues. In my spare time, I enjoy food, singing and learning to play my guitar. I am also very close to my family.

My name is Sinead and I have been here at Lincombe for 2 years as a senior RN, but I have been a Registered Nurse for 21 years.
Originally from Ireland, I moved over to England and now enjoy Nursing in the beautiful South West.
When not working I spend lots of time with my two beautiful children, who mean the world to me.

My name is Holly and I am the lead Administrator here at Lincombe Manor Care Centre. Some of my roles are calculating and running payroll, aiding Head Office with admissions and petty cash and ensuring all admin is correct and up to date. I am well supported by Karen and between us we keep Admin running smoothly. You will find Karen in reception, always happy to listen and help.
Before I was an Administrator, I worked as a Mental Health Care Assistant for over 12 years, gaining various NVQs and qualifications in the process. I particularly enjoy the HR side of my role, as I feel that all of our staff are very important and need to be looked after well.
When I am not working, I spend time with my husband, Pete, and our young Son, along with our new puppy Miniature Dachshund, Bean, who you may have seen sitting in Reception on occasion. I am here to help you in any way that I can, so please don’t be afraid to ask.

My name is Denise Barry and I've worked here in Lincombe Manor for 7 years I joined as a Senior Care assistant then trained to be a care practitioner. In April 2022 I completed my Level 5 Diploma and became an Assistant Practitioner where I not only get to support the residents health and social needs but work closely with our Nurses to provide high standards of nursing care to all who live at Lincombe. I've been working in the care sector for over 25 years, I've worked in residential and nursing homes, working with dementia residents and adults with learning disabilities. In my spare time, I enjoy socialising with my friends and family.

My name is Joanna and I am a Senior Care Assistant at Lincombe Manor Care Centre. My husband and I moved to Devon 6 years ago and I was previously working in the motor trade. After looking after my mum prior to moving into a care home herself, I decided to change career and look after other people in their day to day living. I have been here since April 2019 and enjoy all aspects of my job.

Hello, my name is Naomi and I have been working at Lincombe Manor Care Centre since 2022. I completed my level 3 in Health and Social Care at college and applied for a job here. I was first offered a position on the Wellbeing Team which I really enjoyed but when an opening became available for a Healthcare Assistant, I had to apply as that was my passion. I got the role and was a Healthcare Assistant for 1 year before being offered a Senior Healthcare Assistant position which I accepted. I really enjoy my job. I love to spend time with the residents and make them look and feel nice by helping with their hair and make-up.
In my spare time, I like to travel and spend time with my partner, family and friends. I enjoy festivals and being outside in the sunshine, summer is my favourite time of the year.

Hi, I am Caroline, but you can call me Cazz.
I started at Lincombe in 2026 and love it here. Before here, I was a specialist cleaner for a pharmaceutical company. This involved deep cleaning and sterilising rooms and equipment. I like to believe my standards are high!
I'm a bit of a cinema buff, and in my spare time I like to go and watch the latest films. I also love to spend time with my amazing family. If you see me walking around, please feel free to come and say hi.
