My mother, who lived in an apartment next door to the care home, fell and was admitted the same morning into the care home. The Manager was very welcoming and was flexible whilst we saw whether mum recovered enough to return to independent living. She is now a long-term resident at the care home and they look after her wonderfully well. It is such a relief to know she is safe and cared for by a very professional team.

The staff here are all so cheerful and helpful which has helped Mum settle in. She is looked after really well and the choice and quality of the food is amazing. She is encouraged to join in the varied activities and enjoys having her hair done every week. We are very pleased that we chose Lincombe manor care centre.

Mum is a new resident moving in during November, I cannot thank all staff enough for making the move for her stay, easy and welcoming. Also for making me feel more settled knowing mum is in a safe and happy environment. Thank you all very much.

What a lovely thing to say when Mum has only been with us for a short time. We very much enjoy caring for her. The team often forget what an incredible job they do settling new residents and families into the care centre. When I show them your review I know they will be thrilled.

My mother has moved from hospital care into Lincombe Manor. Staff have been excellent giving personal, diligent care and helping with special requests always with a smile and support. Mum is improving all the time and if my elderly father happens to visit at lunch time staff have been welcoming and invited him to lunch too! Excellent views to enjoy across the bay from the rooms.

Every three months my wife takes a room for a few weeks to give us both respite. Before the first stay, I remember asking myself (as surely others do): I wonder if they fully know what they are doing.
It did not take me long to appreciate that the answer was a resounding YES. And what that meant, among other things, is that I could simply stop worrying about my wife and relax, confident that she was safe and well looked after with great kindness. And in turn that strengthened respite.

Right from the warm greeting from the Receptionist at the door, one knows that this is a place where residents and visitors will be made welcome and treated as friends and that is worth so much. I would have no qualms in recommending Lincombe Manor both for long and short stays.

Thanks to the wonderful team at Lincombe Manor for looking after my mother so well. Her mobility is a real struggle, and nothing is too difficult for the team to assist her. We managed to have a special day out for her birthday, all organised in conjunction with the home, and they provided a special chair and plenty of instructions and a very helpful bag of useful things to help with her care requirements. It was a wonderful occasion and made her so happy; she is still talking about it two weeks later. The facilities, team, management, facilities and the actual beauty of the home itself make it the perfect place for a very special person to be looked after. Having the peace of mind, 'she's in good hands' is a welcome relief, and no request is too much. I can't thank the team enough.

Reply from Justine Thelwell, General Manager at Lincombe Manor Care Centre

Mum is such a delightful lady - how can we not look after her so well! She is indeed still talking about her fabulous birthday weekend and even complimented your cooking to me, although she did call it an attempt at cooking - she is so cheeky. We love meeting you all when you visit. Just tell us...

Our mum has been at Lincombe Manor for over three years. Management and staff could not be more supportive, amicable, experienced and truly magnificent during the Covid-19 crisis. Amazing location and facilities, with sea views and extensive activities. It's such a comfort to know how well she is taken care of and enjoying her residency.

We couldn't recommend Lincombe Manor highly enough. My gran originally went in for respite and has now transferred to full care (which itself is a recommendation as for years she has steadfastly refused to even contemplate entering a care home, let alone staying in one!). What is noticeable is how friendly and happy the staff are, and have been really good at helping to integrate my gran into the activities that are available at the home. Her en-suite room is comfortable and fully equipped to care for her needs, and the stunning upstairs area with views over Torbay just provides the icing on the cake!

Reply from Justine Thelwell, General Manager at Lincombe Manor Care Centre

Wow! What an amazing review. Thank you so much. It's amazing to hear that Gran feels comfortable in her new home. To be honest, Gran makes it very easy for the team to be friendly and happy in her presence. She is such a gracious lady and we are proud to have the opportunity to care for her. Those...

The high standards continue at Lincombe both in level of care and the surroundings. The staff at Lincombe must be put forward for a particular mention. Always there with a smile no matter how busy they are. It is of note that many staff members have worked there for years and that is a comfort to both residents and relatives. Forming relationships and continuity are so important. Whether your stay is temporary or long term Lincombe look after you well.

My mum moved into Lincombe Manor Care Centre in May and has received excellent responsive care. All of the staff have been friendly, caring, supportive and so helpful. We are comforted to know that mum is being very well looked after. There are many opportunities for her to participate in a range of activities if she chooses to do so. Communication with everyone at Lincombe Manor has been easy and efficient with regular updates being provided. The manager and all of the management team have been extremely helpful and supportive not just to mum but to the family too. Firstly I must say how good the Receptionist is at welcoming us into Lincombe. She is always a happy person and very helpful with whatever we need. The staff are all polite and nothing is too much trouble. My relative is very well looked after and is content. I get a very quick response by phone when there is an issue, and feedback when I ask for it.

Well done team.

I live abroad and only get there on occasion, so it is always nice to find Mum content and happy in a relaxed atmosphere. Thanks to the manager and her fantastic, friendly team and brilliant sense of humour, this brings an extra “happy” dimension to the staff and residents. Mum is not the most social person, but the staff have done their best to get her engaged in activities that she used to like, such as bingo and quizzes. The home is beautifully decorated in a style that is different to many care homes; it doesn’t smell of urine (sorry – but many do!), and the location is absolutely fantastic, with views over the ocean from the roof terrace! Rooms are a good size with a bathroom en-suite, and the food has a gourmet touch (smoked salmon salads, for example). And Mum loves her glass of wine with her meal! Book me in for about 20 years from now, if I last that long!

Reply from Justine Thelwell, General Manager at Lincombe Manor Care Centre

You are so kind. You have captured Lincombe perfectly. Mum is the best bingo caller ever! She really gets the competition to fever pitch and graciously accepts her bar of milk chocolate in payment for her expertise. We can't wait to see you again when you fly over. You have been an immense support to us all despite being many miles away.

My mother has been a resident since just before Christmas 2021, and I’ve been really happy with her care. The staff are really motivated, super kind and very caring. They make me feel welcome when I arrive and give my mother lots of love and attention. There is a general air of efficiency about the home, and it’s well organised. The views are beyond amazing, and the food is really very good. I’m so pleased that Mum is in such good hands. All the staff work really hard to provide an excellent service for residents. There is nothing to fault. Hats off to the manager for steering the ship through the Covid storm and out into calm waters! Well done all!

When I received a call to say that mum would be going to Lincombe Care Centre, I was beyond happy. I couldn't believe mum was so lucky. The room was wonderful with a beautiful view over the bay and a bird feeder outside the window. I know this sounds like such a small thing, but my mum loved birds. The staff were absolutely amazing and nothing was too much trouble. They treated mum with dignity and until my PCR results were received, accommodated me visiting mum through the window. After spending all those weeks in hospital, it was wonderful to see her smiling again. She said she thought she was in a hotel and had even had a glass of wine with her lunch. Unfortunately, mum passed away only a week later, but they all made mum's final days comfortable and happy. The staff also looked after me, for which I will always be grateful. First-rate care and I'm thankful mum was a resident even for such a short time.

Hello. Such kind words from someone who only knew us for a short time. You were so kind to us as well so don't forget that. Mum touched all our hearts for the short time we were able to care for her.
