Thanks to the wonderful team at Lincombe Manor for looking after my mother so well. Her mobility is a real struggle, and nothing is too difficult for the team to assist her. We managed to have a special day out for her birthday, all organised in conjunction with the home, and they provided a special
chair and plenty of instructions and a very helpful bag of useful things to help with her care requirements. It was a wonderful occasion and made her so happy; she is still talking about it two weeks later. The facilities, team, management, facilities and the actual beauty of the home itself make it the perfect place for a very special person to be looked after. Having the peace of mind, 'she's in good hands' is a welcome relief, and no request is too much. I can't thank the team enough.
Reply from Justine Thelwell, General Manager at Lincombe Manor Care CentreMum is such a delightful lady - how can we not look after her so well! She is indeed still talking about her fabulous birthday weekend and even complimented your cooking to me, although she did call it an attempt at cooking - she is so cheeky. We love meeting you all when you visit. Just tell us when the next celebration is, and we will make sure Mum is in her finery. Looking forward to seeing you soon.

Our mum has been at Lincombe Manor for over three years. Management and staff could not be more supportive, amicable, experienced and truly magnificent during the Covid-19 crisis. Amazing location and facilities, with sea views and extensive activities. It's such a comfort to know how well she is taken
care of and enjoying her residency.
Reply from Justine Thelwell, General Manager at Lincombe Manor Care CentreYou are so kind to give us praise. We do not have to try very hard to look after Mum. She is such a gracious and kind lady we would go to the ends of the earth for her. Thank you for all your unwavering support, particularly during the past two years. We really couldn't have done it without family members such as yourself.

We couldn't recommend Lincombe Manor highly enough. My gran originally went in for respite and has now transferred to full care (which itself is a recommendation as for years she has steadfastly refused to even contemplate entering a care home, let alone staying in one!). What is noticeable is how friendly
and happy the staff are, and have been really good at helping to integrate my gran into the activities that are available at the home. Her en-suite room is comfortable and fully equipped to care for her needs, and the stunning upstairs area with views over Torbay just provides the icing on the cake!
Reply from Justine Thelwell, General Manager at Lincombe Manor Care CentreWow! What an amazing review. Thank you so much. It's amazing to hear that Gran feels comfortable in her new home. To be honest, Gran makes it very easy for the team to be friendly and happy in her presence. She is such a gracious lady and we are proud to have the opportunity to care for her. Those views are stunning aren't they? I still have to pinch myself when I go upstairs. Thank you from all of us at Lincombe.

The nursing staff are very professional, accommodating and kind in their attentive care. There is calm organisation. The views are stunning and facilities are fantastic. The food is conscientiously nutritious and regular with staff ensuring the residents eat. Staff talk to the residents and ensure
the feel respected
Reply from Justine Thelwell, General Manager at Lincombe Manor Care CentreThank you for your kind words. It's wonderful to hear the words "calm and professional" as this is what we strive for every day. Mealtimes are one of the most important aspects of a resident's day so our chefs always endeavor to serve nutritious and appetizing meals which our care team can support with in a dignified way. Thank you for all your support and kindness.

The high standards continue at Lincombe both in level of care and the surroundings. The staff at Lincombe must be put forward for a particular mention. Always there with a smile no matter how busy they are. It is of note that many staff members have worked there for years and that is a comfort to both
residents and relatives. Forming relationships and continuity are so important. Whether your stay is temporary or long term Lincombe look after you well.
Reply from Justine Thelwell, General Manager at Lincombe Manor Care CentreThank you for your very kind words about the staff at Lincombe. They are an outstanding team, always going the extra mile and never without a smile. Most of the staff have been employed for a number of years. They are passionate about delivering the highest standards of care and being here so long they know all the residents' personal preferences which makes everyone's care bespoke. We in turn would like to thank you for your continued support. We could not do what we do without families such as yourself.

My mum moved into Lincombe Manor Care Centre in May and has received excellent responsive care. All of the staff have been friendly, caring, supportive and so helpful. We are comforted to know that mum is being very well looked after. There are many opportunities for her to participate in a range of
activities if she chooses to do so. Communication with everyone at Lincombe Manor has been easy and efficient with regular updates being provided. The manager and all of the management team have been extremely helpful and supportive not just to mum but to the family too. Lincombe Manor is comfortable, clean, well maintained and has fabulous views across Torbay which can be enjoyed from mum's room, the lounges and the rooftop garden. The food is excellent and varied. I would not hesitate to recommend it to others.
Reply from Justine Thelwell, General Manager at Lincombe Manor Care CentreThank you for all your kind words. It means a lot to us to know how happy you are with mums care. Mum is a delightful lady, full of wit and wisdom which we are all benefiting from. It has been lovely observing mum flourish during her stay with us, attending activities and meeting new people. I am a big fan of her artwork and have commissioned a painting for my office wall. My team will be thrilled to read you are so happy with the service they provide. Thank you for all your support.

Firstly I must say how good the Receptionist is at welcoming us into Lincombe. She is always a happy person and very helpful with whatever we need. The staff are all polite and nothing is too much trouble. My relative is very well looked after and is content. I get a very quick response by phone when
there is an issue, and feedback when I ask for it.

Well done team.

Reply from Justine Thelwell, General Manager at Lincombe Manor Care CentreThank you for your recognition of our wonderful Receptionist. I live abroad and only get there on occasion, so it is always nice to find Mum content and happy in a relaxed atmosphere. Thanks to the manager and her fantastic, friendly team and brilliant sense of humour, this brings an extra “happy” dimension to the staff and residents. Mum is not the most social
person, but the staff have done their best to get her engaged in activities that she used to like, such as bingo and quizzes. The home is beautifully decorated in a style that is different to many care homes; it doesn’t smell of urine (sorry – but many do!), and the location is absolutely fantastic, with views over the ocean from the roof terrace! Rooms are a good size with a bathroom en-suite, and the food has a gourmet touch (smoked salmon salads, for example). And Mum loves her glass of wine with her meal! Book me in for about 20 years from now, if I last that long!
Reply from Justine Thelwell, General Manager at Lincombe Manor Care CentreYou are so kind. You have captured Lincombe perfectly. Mum is the best bingo caller ever! She really gets the competition to fever pitch and graciously accepts her bar of milk chocolate in payment for her expertise. We can't wait to see you again when you fly over. You have been an immense support to us all despite being many miles away.

My mother has been a resident since just before Christmas 2021, and I’ve been really happy with her care. The staff are really motivated, super kind and very caring. They make me feel welcome when I arrive and give my mother lots of love and attention. There is a general air of efficiency about the
home, and it’s well organised. The views are beyond amazing, and the food is really very good. I’m so pleased that Mum is in such good hands. All the staff work really hard to provide an excellent service for residents. There is nothing to fault. Hats off to the manager for steering the ship through the Covid storm and out into calm waters! Well done all!

When I received a call to say that mum would be going to Lincombe Care Centre, I was beyond happy. I couldn't believe mum was so lucky. The room was wonderful with a beautiful view over the bay and a bird feeder outside the window. I know this sounds like such a small thing, but my mum loved birds.
The staff were absolutely amazing and nothing was too much trouble. They treated mum with dignity and until my PCR results were received, accommodated me visiting mum through the window. After spending all those weeks in hospital, it was wonderful to see her smiling again. She said she thought she was in a hotel and had even had a glass of wine with her lunch. Unfortunately, mum passed away only a week later, but they all made mum's final days comfortable and happy. The staff also looked after me, for which I will always be grateful. First-rate care and I'm thankful mum was a resident even for such a short time.
Reply from Justine Thelwell, General Manager at Lincombe Manor Care CentreHello. Such kind words from someone who only knew us for a short time. You were so kind to us as well so don't forget that. This care home is an absolute gem. From my first contact, they made everything so easy for me and my mum. They helped us prepare the room so it was just like home. Every member of staff delivered above and beyond. Mum's care and nursing needs were met beyond my expectations with total dignity. I cannot
express in words how good this was.
Unfortunately, my mum passed away after only a short stay, but again everyone was so respectful and helpful at this difficult time.

This is just a photo glance of what I observed and gained from the resident. We were welcomed at reception, signed in, hand care then plastic aprons, not quite sure of the need for these. We were then allowed to go through to see our resident friend. The place was warm and friendly. Our friend looked
well cared for including hair. She said all the care workers were warm and friendly and the meals good although she had no appetite. We had a lovely afternoon visit. The following week we were able to bring two of our elderly friends and we all had an enjoyable visit at the Manor House. Thank you for making this possible.

Although our loved one has only been at Lincombe Manor for a short time, I cannot speak highly enough about the care and attention he has been given. From a negative prognosis in hospital, somehow this marvelous nursing home appears to have performed a miracle on him. He was incredibly weak, unable
to swallow, and had lost the will to live. In just a few short weeks he is so much stronger, looks forward to each delicious meal time, and most importantly has regained a zest for life. The staff are kind, caring and extremely helpful particularly in their support to relatives. We are extremely grateful to all at Lincombe Manor and will have no hesitation in recommending this beautiful nursing home to others.

(1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 48 registered maximum number of service users is 9.6, which has been reached with 40 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
