I would like to express my sincere thanks to the staff for the exceptional care and empathy my mother has received in these difficult times, the staff have given over and above what would be expected of them. I am so pleased that we were able to secure a place at Lincombe Manor Care Centre for our Mum, knowing that she is in such safe hands.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Your mother is an inspirational lady and it is a privilege to care for her. The team will be very touched with your kind words and all the support you have given them over the past 11 months. Thank you from all of us.
I am extremely happy that my partner is a resident at Lincombe Manor. He has settled very well and has a good repour with all the staff. I have FaceTimed him 3 times a week and am so looking forward to the new arrangements that are about to take place very soon. The staff have kept us fully up to date via email with information, which has been excellent during this current situation. I fully recommend this home, to friends who need excellent medical care for their loved ones.
What a lovely review. Thank you from all of us at Lincombe Manor. Your partner is very dear to us, we are so pleased you are happy with our care of him. We miss you all greatly and are also excited about the Christmas visiting plans. I suspect you will be queuing at the door. We cannot wait to...
The care and attention he received from all the staff was outstanding. The manager was amazing with my brother and the communication via phone and email was excellent.
Thank you for caring for my brother I will always be grateful to you all.
Thank you so much for your lovely words of praise. Your brother was very special to us. Such a gentleman in every way. Thank you for being so supportive during what was a very challenging time for care homes. We wish you all the very best and are looking forward to helping you celebrate your brothers life when you set the date.
Although a little expensive Lincombe Manor provides everything that I could expect and more in the care of my mother. Having visited on many occasions I am assured of the safety and comfort of my mother in this beautiful home.
Thank you for your kind words of praise. I shall make sure the team hear how much you value their hard work and dedication. It is our honour to look after Mum especially as you live on the other side of the world. Take care and stay safe until you can fly over and visit Mum.
My wife moved to Lincombe Manor Care Centre in December 2019 after finding that I was unable to continue nursing her myself at home which I had been doing for the last three years. She has a condition named Multiple System Atrophy/C which is similar to Parkinson's but worse, it is a degenerative condition and is advanced. After she was admitted, I had reservations whether she was going to receive good care and support but I quickly discovered that the staff here are loving and caring, always smiling and jovial, nothing was ever too much trouble, we were both always treated with respect and dignity. I was also surprised that I have been allowed to spend so much time with her because she is so far advanced, I spend on average ten hours a day with her, feeding her, being together, enjoying the fresh air on the upstairs decking, enjoying the wonderful coastline views. The complete staff and management have been so wonderful and kind to us both I could have not have asked for anything better.
It is very comforting to know that we are meeting your wife's needs as well as both your expectations. I know it was an extremely difficult decision to make when you came to see us. You will always be welcome to spend as much time with your wife as you want to. The pair of you come as a package and we are very happy that you take in those spectacular sea views together.
The management and team at the home has always been exceptional in the care and attention she has had, and our family have always been comforted in the way she has always felt safe and secure.
The Covid virus has brought about a whole range of new challenges for us all, and the home has responded with a full range of activities to keep everybody active.
Importantly, the manager has sent regular emails with full information about how they are coping with the challenges being experienced, and updates on my mother and all the residents.
A big thank you to you all, and I hope to soon be able to visit my mother and thank you all personally.
Thank you so much for all your kindness and support. Your Mother is cherished by us all and its lovely to hear how much you value the team. We are very lucky to have such supportive families and it breaks our hearts during this heinous pandemic that we have to separate you from each other. Rest...
Lincombe has been warm, welcoming and efficient from day one. The staff are highly professional, caring and very much treat our father as an individual. They keep distant relatives well informed.
Thank you so much for your kind words. It really means a lot to the whole team when they can see how much they are valued and appreciated. Your father is a delight to look after and it's our pleasure to continue to care for him until he can return home and regain his independence.
We cannot thank or praise the staff enough for their commitment, kindness and care towards my mum and for welcoming us all.
We know Mum is being well cared for; she is safe and takes part in activities which are so reassuring.
I would not have my mum looked after by anyone else. They are a team of very skilled and dedicated people who go above and beyond. Above all, Mum is settled and content; what better measure is there?
Grateful thanks to you all.
What a wonderful review. It makes us quite emotional to hear how much you value our care and how happy Mum is living with us. I know it was such a difficult decision and I am thrilled that we have managed to meet all of your expectations and give you and Mum peace of mind.
This is a lovely care home and my mother was treated with the utmost kindness and compassion. Her dying days were also spent at the home and all the staff delivered exemplary care which I am sure contributed to a peaceful ending for Mum. She was always content living there and I was ever-present, often advocating on her behalf. Any requirements and requests were always carried out and welcomed by the staff. The only criticism I have is the lack of visitor car spaces in immediate proximity to the site. This did not personally affect me, however, as I was happy to park a small distance away where spaces could be readily found.
Thank you so much for your kind words. We very much miss you and your mother. The home is not the same without you both. It pleases me greatly that you were content with Mum's care. The team take great pride in the quality of the service they deliver and I will make sure they all know how...
My dad had Parkinson's disease with complex needs, every single member of staff at Lincombe Manor was incredible and they treated my dad so wonderfully with dignity and respect. The care was outstanding, they made myself and my family welcome at any time ensuring my dad's last months were full of love and laughter and kindness. I can never praise and thank everyone there enough.
Thank you so much for your lovely review of our service. It is wonderful to hear you had such a quality experience. We do miss Dad and his fabulous sense of humour. You were such a lovely family to have in our Home and we wish you all the very best for the coming New Year.
My husband has Parkinson's disease in the later stages. He was only in Lincombe Manor for 1-week respite care. I cannot thank the staff enough for the care he was given. They are a fantastic team. Everyone you see has a smile for you and makes you feel that nothing is too much trouble. I would have no fear placing him in Lincombe Manor again. The only problem is parking but we managed.
Thank you so much for your lovely review. My team enjoyed every aspect of caring for your husband and we would welcome him back any time you may need our help. I agree with you that our only negative is the parking situation but hopefully, the care your husband received supersedes the frustrations...
Clean, caring and thoughtful staff. Very good communication, kind, better than I could have imagined.
Thank you so much for your kind words. Your dad is very dear to us and it is an honour to look after him. I will share your praise with the team.
Whatever time of day you visit you are made most welcome. The staff are always friendly, even when they are busy. My aunt is very happy and loves them all.
Thank you so much for highlighting how friendly the team are at Lincombe Manor. They are always striving to give the best care possible combined with the biggest smile. I will share your praise with them at my next team meeting. Having just returned from a two week holiday I can see a huge...
In addition, their thoughtfulness and genuine concern for my personal wellbeing during this difficult period was hugely supportive.
Individual dignity and privacy was always respected, which played an important role in making the experience as positive as possible.
Thank you for your lovely words. You and your wife are deeply missed by everybody living and working at Lincombe Manor. It was an honour to look after you both and I do hope when you feel up to it that you will pay us a visit. Until then, we are sending you all our love and gratitude.
Mum arrived from hospital for respite following a broken pelvis. She was in great pain and very anxious. The staff at Lincombe Manor were very welcoming and warm and friendly. She grew in confidence as the staff helped and encouraged her walking. She also grew around the stomach as the food was second to none. I would like to say an enormous thank you to all the staff and wouldn't think twice to bring mum back should she need more respite in the future.
Thank you for such a wonderful review. We do hope Mum is doing well at home. It was always her goal to regain her independence and we are so pleased we could help her achieve it. Mum is welcome anytime at Lincombe Manor not only for respite but for any of our activities or a lovely lunch and catch up with old friends. Give her our love we miss her cheerfulness.
My 'second mum' stayed at the care home for four months after a short spell in hospital, and because she was no longer able to be cared for appropriately at home. She was very well looked after and her needs were fully met. She especially enjoyed the food! The staff were lovely and clearly did their best to make her feel comfortable and loved. It was a shame that she was not sufficiently well enough to enjoy all the education and entertainments that were put on in the home, or indeed, the magnificent surroundings. As visitors, the facilities were excellent as was the hospitality.
It was our pleasure to look after "second Mum". We miss her every day. Thank you from all the team for the lovely card last week showing us where "Mum" is living. It gave us all a lot of pleasure reading your kind words. Our Team are always very proud to hear that all their hard work and efforts...
I really don't know how they all remain so cheerful and helpful all of the time and under pressure.
Thank you so much for your lovely review. The team really do go that extra mile and make every moment matter. It is fantastic that it does not go unnoticed. I will pass on your praise and kind words to them.
Hewitt Lodge, Lincombe, Torquay is wonderful, caring and pleasant staff, nothing too much trouble. Extremely comfortable accommodation.
Goodness me what a splendid review. The team will be so proud. Both Manor Life staff and the NHS Team work extremely hard at keeping the standards of care so high. I am thrilled you had such a positive experience and very grateful that you have taken the time to complete such a wonderful review.
I have visited many care home, both as a relative and as a volunteer with a local charity. Many were found wanting in their standards of care. Lincombe Manor meets all the criteria of an excellent care home. All the staff were wonderful, where nothing was too much trouble. Nutritious, home cooked food, a clean bright environment and attention to detail was apparent everywhere. After my weeks of respite care I will, thankfully, leave refreshed in body and spirit.
Wow. Thank you so much for your stunning review. We try very hard at Lincombe to meet not only your health needs but also reach your expectations and it looks like we succeeded here. We loved having you stay with us recently and hope you will remain a friend of the Home and visit us when you are back on your feet.
The staff are extremely helpful and polite. The view is stunning and the gardens are well kept. My wife and I were made very welcome when we visited my mother. We left to go back to Australia feeling very confident in the level of care Mum is receiving.
What a lovely review. Thank you so much for your kind words. It was lovely to meet you and I do hope your journey home was no too tiring. Rest assured we shall continue to look after Mum making sure she is loved and well cared for. With the sunny weather on the way I have no doubt Mum will be soaking in our stunning views from the roof top terrace.

Meet the Team (9)

I was appointed as General Manager of Lincombe Manor Care Centre in January 2024. I qualified as a General Nurse in January 2003 after completing my training in Exeter with the University of Plymouth. I remained in Exeter, working at The Nuffield Hospital as a junior nurse and at The Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital. I then joined the care sector which led me towards working as a Clinical Care Manager with Elizabeth Finn Homes for 10 years, which I thoroughly enjoyed.
Away from work, I live in Exeter with my husband and two children, Freya and Harrison. I enjoy horse riding, walking my two dogs and holidaying with my family.

My name is Helen, and I am the Clinical Lead RN here at Lincombe Manor Care Centre. I began my nurse training in 1985, starting in hospital settings in Herefordshire, Lincolnshire and South Devon. I have always felt very blessed to be able to find a career which I feel so proud and passionate about.
I relocated back to South Devon from Lincolnshire in 2017, which is when I began my journey at Lincombe Manor Care Centre, progressing in my role from RN, to Senior RN and becoming Clinical lead in 2024.
Away from work, I enjoy walking in beautiful Devon. I love nature and its vast variety of birds and animals. That said, I am equally happy to sit in a café with a good book and a latte, on a rainy day.

Hello, my name is Grace and I have worked at Lincombe Manor Care Centre for 8 years but have been a Nurse for 16 years. I am a very experienced nurse and very much enjoy my job and being at Lincombe Manor. I enjoy looking after and socialising with the residents, each one is very special. I am a hard worker and take my role very seriously but can also relax and enjoy time with the residents and my fellow colleagues. In my spare time, I enjoy food, singing and learning to play my guitar. I am also very close to my family.

My name is Sinead and I have been here at Lincombe for 2 years as a senior RN, but I have been a Registered Nurse for 21 years.
Originally from Ireland, I moved over to England and now enjoy Nursing in the beautiful South West.
When not working I spend lots of time with my two beautiful children, who mean the world to me.

My name is Holly and I am the lead Administrator here at Lincombe Manor Care Centre. Some of my roles are calculating and running payroll, aiding Head Office with admissions and petty cash and ensuring all admin is correct and up to date. I am well supported by Karen and between us we keep Admin running smoothly. You will find Karen in reception, always happy to listen and help.
Before I was an Administrator, I worked as a Mental Health Care Assistant for over 12 years, gaining various NVQs and qualifications in the process. I particularly enjoy the HR side of my role, as I feel that all of our staff are very important and need to be looked after well.
When I am not working, I spend time with my husband, Pete, and our young Son, along with our new puppy Miniature Dachshund, Bean, who you may have seen sitting in Reception on occasion. I am here to help you in any way that I can, so please don’t be afraid to ask.

My name is Denise Barry and I've worked here in Lincombe Manor for 7 years I joined as a Senior Care assistant then trained to be a care practitioner. In April 2022 I completed my Level 5 Diploma and became an Assistant Practitioner where I not only get to support the residents health and social needs but work closely with our Nurses to provide high standards of nursing care to all who live at Lincombe. I've been working in the care sector for over 25 years, I've worked in residential and nursing homes, working with dementia residents and adults with learning disabilities. In my spare time, I enjoy socialising with my friends and family.

My name is Joanna and I am a Senior Care Assistant at Lincombe Manor Care Centre. My husband and I moved to Devon 6 years ago and I was previously working in the motor trade. After looking after my mum prior to moving into a care home herself, I decided to change career and look after other people in their day to day living. I have been here since April 2019 and enjoy all aspects of my job.

Hello, my name is Naomi and I have been working at Lincombe Manor Care Centre since 2022. I completed my level 3 in Health and Social Care at college and applied for a job here. I was first offered a position on the Wellbeing Team which I really enjoyed but when an opening became available for a Healthcare Assistant, I had to apply as that was my passion. I got the role and was a Healthcare Assistant for 1 year before being offered a Senior Healthcare Assistant position which I accepted. I really enjoy my job. I love to spend time with the residents and make them look and feel nice by helping with their hair and make-up.
In my spare time, I like to travel and spend time with my partner, family and friends. I enjoy festivals and being outside in the sunshine, summer is my favourite time of the year.

Hi, I am Caroline, but you can call me Cazz.
I started at Lincombe in 2026 and love it here. Before here, I was a specialist cleaner for a pharmaceutical company. This involved deep cleaning and sterilising rooms and equipment. I like to believe my standards are high!
I'm a bit of a cinema buff, and in my spare time I like to go and watch the latest films. I also love to spend time with my amazing family. If you see me walking around, please feel free to come and say hi.
