It was our first time at Lincombe Manor nursing home, we went there to meet up with my mother; who is at present a resident there, we found that everyone we came across from care staff to nurses very kind and very understanding, which takes a lot of pressure off when you know your loved one is being
looked after well.
My mother said she loves it there and finds all the staff very nice indeed, always laughing.
So I say yes, I would put your nursing home very highly recommended to anyone who needs to put a loved one in a home. Keep up the good work and a massive thank you for making my mum's stay with you as pleasant and nice as you are.
Reply from Justine Thelwell, General Manager at Lincombe Manor Care CentreThank you for such a lovely review. Our team do their very best to make sure everyone feels welcomed and well looked after so they will be thrilled when I tell them how pleased you were when you visited. Mum is settling in nicely and has a fabulous sense of humour. She keeps us all smiling through these gloomy rainy days we are having. I look forward to meeting you all soon and thank you for all your kindness and support.

My mother has been a resident for over 3 years and requires intensive nursing care. The professional care my mother has received has been exceptional and individualised to her needs and she is always treated with respect and compassion. I thank the staff for their unwavering dedication and personal
sacrifices made through an unprecedented time showing great resilience as a team. I would like to mention the manager's exceptional management, leadership and pragmatism and of course her sense of humour which has seen us all through. Covid protocols have been stringently adhered to and the appointment of the covid administrator demonstrates the home's commitment to safety. The covid administrator is professional and thorough in her approach and is valuable in providing a safe environment for all. I would wholly recommend the home without hesitation.
Reply from Justine Thelwell, General Manager at Lincombe Manor Care CentreGoodness me, we are all bursting with pride reading your wonderful review. Mum is so dear to us and we are truly privileged that you have entrusted her care to us especially during this exceptionally challenging year. You and your sister have been nothing but 100% supportive of us from the very beginning and words cannot express how much that means to us. We cannot wait to let you all in again, spend quality time with Mum and have the freedom of the home. Thank you again from us all.

A very friendly and efficient system of testing when visiting eased any worries over Covid19. Extremely helpful member of staff to welcome you and prepare you before entering the home. Wonderful to be able to have a quiet hour with my mum.
Sadly, my mum has been unable to venture from her room due
to her illness, so I am unable to comment on the care home facilities.
However, people we know have always rated them highly.
Reply from Justine Thelwell, General Manager at Lincombe Manor Care CentreThank you for your lovely review. I am pleased you had a good experience when you visited. Mum. Yes, she is very frail and tires easily but it's wonderful you can spend some quiet time with her and enjoy each others company. Mum does look forward to your visits. Thank you for your kind words. I will share them with the team.

When my friend had a fall and was taken into hospital, part of his return was to go into a local care home and this was very stressfull for him and us. The homes he was put in were not the best. Shortly after this time we were going on holiday and for our peace of mind we asked our friend if he would
like to go into a care centre for respite care which he was happy with.
On our return and bringing him back to his own home he astounded us by saying he was so happy with the care and ambience of Lincombe Care Centre that he asked us to arrange for him to be put on the list to move there for good and sell his home for him.
That has been the best outcome and he is happy and we are too. He is well taken care of, when we visit he always looks smart and clean and well.
Reply from Justine Thelwell, General Manager at Lincombe Manor Care CentreHow lovely of you to say how happy and reassured you are that your friend is well cared for and content living with us. He is such a wonderful gentleman and always looks so smart when he takes gentle strolls around the home whistling his favourite tune. We cannot wait to welcome you all in again so we can celebrate together after what has been a long and arduous year for everyone. Your continued support throughout this very challenging time has been most inspiring.

My father has been a resident at Lincombe Manor for over a year now. He has been looked after extremely well and the staff are friendly, kind and caring. He has been kept very safe in what has been a tumultuous year for all of us. I am extremely impressed with the procedures in place to guard against
infection and transmission of the virus.
Lincombe Manor is in a superb location with spectacular views over Torbay. My father, once a very keen sailor, loves the views.
I have just returned from my first indoors visit for more than 12 months. I was very impressed with the protocol in place to test visitors, coach us in anti-infection processes and the provision of appropriate PPE.
Well done all at Lincombe!
Reply from Justine Thelwell, General Manager at Lincombe Manor Care CentreYou have made us all beam from ear to ear! We are so pleased you feel safe in the home and more importantly that you know Dad is safe. Dad is such a respected member of the community at Lincombe. He has taught us many things over this past year and we are lucky to have his wisdom to guide us. Dad was wonderful, tending to our summer sunflower competition so let's see what he can pull out the bag this year. It is lovely to see you all coming back inside. We feel a sense of normality is slowly returning. Thank you for all your support this year. It has been a challenge but made so much easier with families such as yourselves cheering us on. Thank you from all of us.

Communication from the home is excellent. I feel my much-loved one is in a very safe happy and well-run

My mother was resident at Lincombe for her final year. It is a modern, clean and very well run community.
The team are a great group of professionals who really looked after Mum, and cared for her.
As someone who lives overseas the whole situation with COVID was worrying; Lincombe did a superb job
of keeping the residents safe, but also keeping the family informed.
Highly recommend.

My wife moved to Lincombe Manor Care Centre in December 2019 after finding that I was unable to continue nursing her myself at home which I had been doing for the last three years. She has a condition named Multiple System Atrophy/C which is similar to Parkinson's but worse, it is a degenerative condition
and is advanced. After she was admitted, I had reservations whether she was going to receive good care and support but I quickly discovered that the staff here are loving and caring, always smiling and jovial, nothing was ever too much trouble, we were both always treated with respect and dignity. I was also surprised that I have been allowed to spend so much time with her because she is so far advanced, I spend on average ten hours a day with her, feeding her, being together, enjoying the fresh air on the upstairs decking, enjoying the wonderful coastline views. The complete staff and management have been so wonderful and kind to us both I could have not have asked for anything better.
Reply from Justine Thelwell, General Manager at Lincombe Manor Care CentreIt is very comforting to know that we are meeting your wife's needs as well as both your expectations. I know it was an extremely difficult decision to make when you came to see us. You will always be welcome to spend as much time with your wife as you want to. The pair of you come as a package and we are very happy that you take in those spectacular sea views together.

My mother has been at Lincombe Manor for 3-years or more, and she has always been looked after with care, dignity and respect.
The management and team at the home has always been exceptional in the care and attention she has had, and our family have always been comforted in the way she has always
felt safe and secure.
The Covid virus has brought about a whole range of new challenges for us all, and the home has responded with a full range of activities to keep everybody active.
Importantly, the manager has sent regular emails with full information about how they are coping with the challenges being experienced, and updates on my mother and all the residents.
A big thank you to you all, and I hope to soon be able to visit my mother and thank you all personally.
Reply from Justine Thelwell, General Manager at Lincombe Manor Care CentreThank you so much for all your kindness and support. I was appointed as General Manager of Lincombe Manor Care Centre in January 2024. I qualified as a General Nurse in January 2003 after completing my training in Exeter with the University of Plymouth. Away from work, I live in Exeter with my husband and two children, Freya and Harrison. I enjoy horse riding, walking my two dogs and holidaying with my family.

My name is Helen, and I am the Clinical Lead RN here at Lincombe Manor Care Centre. I began my nurse training in 1985, starting in hospital settings in Herefordshire, Lincolnshire and South Devon.
