Mum has been a resident since October 2021, it is only through the care, support and excellent nursing skills that she is thriving. We are very happy with Lincombe Manor. The staff truly care and the facilities are excellent.
What a beautiful review. It's always great to see that people are happy with the care that their loved ones are receiving at the home and that they are thriving on it. It truly is a fantastic team with so many excellent skills, and as you say, everyone cares.
Carers giving a very good service. Greatly assisted when university carers gave care help during holiday periods.
Thank you for your review. The team really do provide a good service. We always look forward to welcoming our students back during their holidays!
Wow! This is what care homes should be like. Have not seen my mum so relaxed for ages. Care is top-notch, always making sure my mum is OK and adjusting her pain meds as appropriate. Facilities, as my daughter said are insane! So good. Still early days to comment on activities and food and drink but so far so good. Some meals are excellent, some just good. I'm now a believer in palliative care where as I used to think we couldn't do it. So happy my mum's last days will be in comfort (with a bit of luxury).
I second your wow! What an amazing review. Your mum has settled in so well and made Lincombe Manor her home, enjoying all of the facilities that we have to offer. Our team have great expertise in palliative care and symptom control and I am delighted that you and your mum are reassured that she is being kept in comfort, and not forgetting in luxury.
Kind people who look after me. Make me feel good about myself. I feel safe, I feel I am well-cared for. My wishes and my requests are always respected and taken into consideration. I enjoy the food. I enjoy my views. Staff members go beyond their ways to make sure I feel good. I feel homely here. This place makes it easy for me to be connected with my distant family in Australia and the world. I get my newspaper every day, I get my hair done etc.
What a fabulous review. It's always nice to read how much the team are appreciated. It brings me pleasure knowing that you feel safe, respected and valued, enabling you to feel good about yourself. Everyone is very kind and they do go that extra mile. Isn't it amazing how easy they make it for you...
I have been here 5 days and settled in very well. The staff and environment are excellent. I couldn't have found a more pleasant and welcoming home.
Thank you for your super review. We are so pleased that you are finding Lincombe Manor to be welcoming and pleasant. It makes us feel proud knowing that you are feeling so settled after only a short space of time. The staff are excellent which is reflected in your review. It has been a pleasure having you at the home and getting to know you and your family.
I think the care my mum receives is amazing. She is kept safe. She is treated with great respect and appears to be loved by everyone. Not only is Mum cared for, but so are we as a family. Nothing is too difficult. We all love visiting. It feels like a home and you can't get better than that!
What a delightful review to read. Thank you! It makes me feel so proud of everyone that works here. We pride ourselves on making people feel welcomed and treating everyone with respect. It's nice to hear that you also feel as though it is your mum's home (it is) and that you enjoy your visits. We...
However, there were some shortcomings in her care which concerned us - in fairness this may have been partly due to the fact that our mother’s health was worse when she arrived than the hospital had led Lincombe Manor to believe, but things could have been picked up and acted on sooner - particularly with regard to nutrition and medication.
Communication was quite poor throughout her stay and we were quite shocked and upset that not a single person from the home offered their condolences on our mother's passing, apart from the nurse who came to her room to confirm she had passed. From the moment we left the building that day we did not receive any further contact.
So whilst Lincombe Manor is one of the best nursing homes around, I would caution perhaps not for end-of-life care unless already an established resident.
We are grateful for your kind words about Lincombe Manor Care Centre being one of the best nursing homes in the area, although acknowledge your comments about your experience. We take great pride in our end-of-life care and have a wealth of knowledge and expertise within the team, working very...
Another staff member was amazing too, thank you!
What a truly touching review, it made me very emotional reading this. What a beautiful accolade to our team. Your review has made them truly proud. We always treat people with dignity and respect and like to make everyone feel welcome at Lincombe Manor. I am happy to hear that this is exactly how you were made to feel. It was our privilege to have cared for your mum.
My mother went into the home on Boxing Day 2023. The care that she received was so lovely and caring in every way. They would always ensure that her hair was done, washed and clean (she was a very glamorous woman) and dressed if able to receive guests, as she had so many. The respect they showed her when she passed was perfect and not only did they look after her, they ensured we, the family, were looked after too - thank you all for your love and care.
Thank you for such a lovely review. It’s wonderful to hear that your experience was one of warmth and kindness. We always go the extra mile to make sure that everyone is made to feel welcome and I am pleased to see our efforts were appreciated by you all. We are very proud of the service we offer...
I cannot thank the angels enough for their exemplary care/compassion and love to their patient (my niece) to me and other family. She could not have got better love anywhere else especially in her last days. Words are not enough to express my gratitude. You have a 10 recommendation, should be in millions. Thank you all.
How wonderful to hear your experience with us was so positive. We were honored to care for your loved one in the final stages of their life. We couldn't have wished for a nicer family to support whilst going through such a sad time. We will always cherish the time we spent with your loved one and their family.
Lincombe Manor is an exceptionally fantastic care home. My mother has been here for about 3 years. All of the staff have been fantastic and really looked after my mother.
That is so lovely to hear. We love looking after Mum. Who would call the bingo each week if Mum wasn't with us? You are a wonderful family and we love welcoming you when you travel so far to visit Mum. It was so nice to see you all recently. I will pass your kind words on to the team and show them how much they are appreciated.
I cannot speak highly enough of everyone in the manager's team. They are professional, caring, motivated, and care for the mind, body, and spirit.
Those staying at Hewitt Lodge are able to use the public areas and facilities at Lincombe Manor, all of which are well-maintained, elegant, and beautifully furnished.
Hewitt Lodge is unfortunately only a short-term Reablement Centre and in researching Mum’s next short-term move I visited a number of Care and Nursing homes in Torbay. None appear to achieve the top quality standards set by the manager across care, catering, hygiene, and accommodation.
Wow. What a wonderful review. This has made the team so proud. We loved looking after mum and getting to know you as a family. Hewitt do an incredible job in partnership with the NHS ICT team and we have a great success rate for rehabilitation. Your review tells us it works and we thank you for that. We all hope Mum has settled into her new home and is enjoying life to the full.
Great support to residents and family visiting.
Offered great care to my nan during a difficult period, and built a lovely rapport with her.
Lovely views from the lounge and terrace.
Thank you so much for your review. The team always go the extra mile and your kind words will mean a lot to them. Our views are stunning, aren’t they? We are so lucky to work here and care for such wonderful people.
Hewitt Lodge - excellent care
Thank you so much for your kind words and 5-star review of our intermediate care service Hewitt Lodge. It's wonderful to see you had such a positive experience of our facilities, staff and being treated with dignity. The team will be thrilled to see how much you value them by writing such a glowing review.
Management is excellent, being readily available to discuss mum's needs whenever necessary and then, of course, there's the location - sea views are a happy addition to all the other plusses for both the resident and the visitor.
As a regular visitor to Lincombe Manor, I have been made to feel very welcome, as has my dog, which has made visiting Mum all the more enjoyable.
Thank you to all at Lincombe Manor for making my mum's transition to a full-time care home resident a seamlessly happy one.
Hello. What a lovely review. Thank you for all your kind words. Lincombe is truly a special place and we are thrilled you enjoy your visits and can spend quality time with mum. Every day we try to go that extra mile to make it a five-star service and your feedback shows us we are getting it right. We look forward to seeing you soon especially as you bring along that gorgeous doggy for us to pet.
My mother has been a resident of Lincombe Manor for over four years and I cannot praise the staff enough. They are always warm, very kind, thoughtful, attentive and enthusiastic with my Mum. Her tea arrives each morning at just the right temperature, they feed her with care and patience and make sure her favourite radio station is on in her room. Most often, she is enjoying activities upstairs. When I arrived this month, the residents were enjoying the talents of a local harpist playing beautiful music. The communal rooms are lovely, clean and bright with spectacular views.
You are so lovely to say such kind things about the team. They are truly committed to delivering person-centred care and your review shows them just how well they do it. We take pride in our well-being programme and tailor it specifically to the residents' choices and preferences. The harpist is a firm favourite and returns monthly by popular demand.
I would have preferred to nurse my husband at home but when that was no longer possible, l could not have chosen a better care home.
Thank you for such a wonderful review of Lincombe Manor and all its facilities. We are all very proud of the service we offer and it's heart-warming to read how happy you are with your husband's care. You have been a great support to us over the past twelve months in "getting it right" and for that we thank you for all your kindness.
My aunt broke her ankle and was unable to return to her home, as her mobility is now permanently impaired. She was so lucky to get a placement at Lincoln Manor and her room has a beautiful view of the gardens and the water. The staff are always welcoming and my aunt is full of praise for them too. I could not wish for her to be in a better place, as it has been hard for auntie to accept that she could not return to her home. A big thank you to all the staff for an excellent standard of care and always with a smile.
Thank you for your lovely review of Lincombe Manor. Your auntie is such a wonderful lady, we are proud to be able to care for her. Our sea-view rooms are gorgeous aren't they? Just what's needed to make that transition from home to care a little easier. Merry Christmas to you all.
Everything about Lincombe Manor Care Centre, has been five stars, from introduction to residency - with my mother being brilliantly cared for. I cannot recommend Lincombe Manor and its staff, more highly. We enjoy visiting and the health and well-being for residents and visitors with security and cleanliness, being top priority.
What wonderful feedback from a family who have only been with us for such a short while. It's been our pleasure to care for your mother and get to know you as a family. Thank you so much for your kind words. The team will be thrilled when I share your review with them.
We find Lincombe Manor to be really good, our mother is calm, settled and happy there. It's always immaculately clean and the staff are really caring and friendly. It's a lovely place. We enjoy visiting.
Thank you for your kind words. Every department takes great pride in what they do particularly our incredible housekeeping team who were thrilled when I showed them your comments.

Meet the Team (9)

I was appointed as General Manager of Lincombe Manor Care Centre in January 2024. I qualified as a General Nurse in January 2003 after completing my training in Exeter with the University of Plymouth. I remained in Exeter, working at The Nuffield Hospital as a junior nurse and at The Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital. I then joined the care sector which led me towards working as a Clinical Care Manager with Elizabeth Finn Homes for 10 years, which I thoroughly enjoyed.
Away from work, I live in Exeter with my husband and two children, Freya and Harrison. I enjoy horse riding, walking my two dogs and holidaying with my family.

My name is Helen, and I am the Clinical Lead RN here at Lincombe Manor Care Centre. I began my nurse training in 1985, starting in hospital settings in Herefordshire, Lincolnshire and South Devon. I have always felt very blessed to be able to find a career which I feel so proud and passionate about.
I relocated back to South Devon from Lincolnshire in 2017, which is when I began my journey at Lincombe Manor Care Centre, progressing in my role from RN, to Senior RN and becoming Clinical lead in 2024.
Away from work, I enjoy walking in beautiful Devon. I love nature and its vast variety of birds and animals. That said, I am equally happy to sit in a café with a good book and a latte, on a rainy day.

Hello, my name is Grace and I have worked at Lincombe Manor Care Centre for 8 years but have been a Nurse for 16 years. I am a very experienced nurse and very much enjoy my job and being at Lincombe Manor. I enjoy looking after and socialising with the residents, each one is very special. I am a hard worker and take my role very seriously but can also relax and enjoy time with the residents and my fellow colleagues. In my spare time, I enjoy food, singing and learning to play my guitar. I am also very close to my family.

My name is Sinead and I have been here at Lincombe for 2 years as a senior RN, but I have been a Registered Nurse for 21 years.
Originally from Ireland, I moved over to England and now enjoy Nursing in the beautiful South West.
When not working I spend lots of time with my two beautiful children, who mean the world to me.

My name is Holly and I am the lead Administrator here at Lincombe Manor Care Centre. Some of my roles are calculating and running payroll, aiding Head Office with admissions and petty cash and ensuring all admin is correct and up to date. I am well supported by Karen and between us we keep Admin running smoothly. You will find Karen in reception, always happy to listen and help.
Before I was an Administrator, I worked as a Mental Health Care Assistant for over 12 years, gaining various NVQs and qualifications in the process. I particularly enjoy the HR side of my role, as I feel that all of our staff are very important and need to be looked after well.
When I am not working, I spend time with my husband, Pete, and our young Son, along with our new puppy Miniature Dachshund, Bean, who you may have seen sitting in Reception on occasion. I am here to help you in any way that I can, so please don’t be afraid to ask.

My name is Denise Barry and I've worked here in Lincombe Manor for 7 years I joined as a Senior Care assistant then trained to be a care practitioner. In April 2022 I completed my Level 5 Diploma and became an Assistant Practitioner where I not only get to support the residents health and social needs but work closely with our Nurses to provide high standards of nursing care to all who live at Lincombe. I've been working in the care sector for over 25 years, I've worked in residential and nursing homes, working with dementia residents and adults with learning disabilities. In my spare time, I enjoy socialising with my friends and family.

My name is Joanna and I am a Senior Care Assistant at Lincombe Manor Care Centre. My husband and I moved to Devon 6 years ago and I was previously working in the motor trade. After looking after my mum prior to moving into a care home herself, I decided to change career and look after other people in their day to day living. I have been here since April 2019 and enjoy all aspects of my job.

Hello, my name is Naomi and I have been working at Lincombe Manor Care Centre since 2022. I completed my level 3 in Health and Social Care at college and applied for a job here. I was first offered a position on the Wellbeing Team which I really enjoyed but when an opening became available for a Healthcare Assistant, I had to apply as that was my passion. I got the role and was a Healthcare Assistant for 1 year before being offered a Senior Healthcare Assistant position which I accepted. I really enjoy my job. I love to spend time with the residents and make them look and feel nice by helping with their hair and make-up.
In my spare time, I like to travel and spend time with my partner, family and friends. I enjoy festivals and being outside in the sunshine, summer is my favourite time of the year.

Hi, I am Caroline, but you can call me Cazz.
I started at Lincombe in 2026 and love it here. Before here, I was a specialist cleaner for a pharmaceutical company. This involved deep cleaning and sterilising rooms and equipment. I like to believe my standards are high!
I'm a bit of a cinema buff, and in my spare time I like to go and watch the latest films. I also love to spend time with my amazing family. If you see me walking around, please feel free to come and say hi.
