My mum has been in Acer House for a year now and I am very happy with the care and support that she receives from Sam, Kirsty and their wonderful team. The food & drink is good and plentiful, clothing washed & returned in a timely manner, rooms have a high standard of cleanliness, assistance given with personal care when desired and a range of activities providing mental and physical stimulation (not that mum participates in many of these). I am always warmly welcomed when I arrive at Acer House by their great reception team, and I have huge confidence in the medical team in their care for mum, who has dramatically improved health wise over the last year. I am comforted in knowing mum is being very well looked after at Acer House. I have no hesitation in recommending this Care Home.
Thank you for taking the time to review Acer House Care Home, mum has settled into the environment and has made significant improvements over the last few months in particular, the team are a credit to the home, every department working holistically to ensure positive outcomes for the residents and their families.
Kirsty the manager came to do the assessment with mum and was so kind with her and because she could see how worried we were, she apparently then went home and did the five hour care plan in her own time.
We settled mum in today and although she was anxious when we left, I've just phoned to see how she is and was immediately put through to her nurse who reassured me that mum is comfortable and happy. She's even eaten soup, beans on toast and fruit pie and custard for her supper - much more than she's used to eating.
Thank you for taking the time to review Acer House care Home and for the positive feedback about the deputy Manager who supported the fmaily with a quick turn around in assessments and preparation for admission. We are delighted to hear mum is content in her new environment and the initial anxiety...
Father in law was warmly welcomed and settled well for his two week respite stay. Staff were attentive and respectful and friendly towards family as we dropped him off for his first stay. At the assessment, the manager and other staff spoke kindly and specifically to FiL which reassured us of their patient first approach. A very good experience
Thank you for taking the time to review Acer House Care Home, we are pleased to hear your father in laws first experience with Acer House was positive. we strive to ensure our residents are at the centre of all we do, that includes the pre-assessment right through to departure however long their stay is for.
Nothing was too much trouble from the team at Acer to help me get Mum's room ready so that when I moved her in it all felt familiar which is important when you have dementia. They went out of their way to understand Mums history and her likes and dislikes, and made sure to welcome her. She has settled really quickly which is such a relief for me. I would not hesitate to recommend them for looking after someone with dementia.
Thank you for taking the time to review Acer House Care home, getting to know those that live here is a must, this enables us to tailor our support to meet individual needs, wishes and preferences. We are pleased to hear she ahs settled well.
Our mother settled quickly into her lovely room with private ensuite wet room, overlooking private gardens. The standard of the accommodation is excellent, clean with a fresh and pleasant atmosphere. The amenities are not short of what you'd find in a high level hotel.
There are regular activities each day to suit most needs.
The level of care is great. The support provided extending to our family as well as our mother. The health issues she has had have been handled sensitively and we have been kept fully involved, giving us confidence that she is being well cared for.
All the staff work so hard and their energy and commitment is obvious to see.
Thank you to all the staff at Acer House, what a great team you are and thank you for everything you do in making the home such a special place.
Thank you for taking the time to review Acer House Care Home. We are pleased mum is happy in the home and you as a fmaily feel supported and comfortable with the environment. We aim to support not only the individual living with us but their network of support, ensuring a person centred approach...
My Mum is at Acer House and I'm so happy that she is so well looked after. Acer house is really well managed, all the people who work there are lovely. It's spotlessly clean and the rooms are well furnished, my Mums room is lovely and she is happy there. They organise lots for the residents to do and make sure everyone is aware of what is available. The food is lovely and family can also eat with residents for a small charge. I am so pleased we found Acer House for my Mum to stay at, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone looking for somewhere for their loved ones to stay.
Thank you for taking the time to review Acer House Care Home, we are pleased to hear you are happy with the service and mum is settling nicely into her new home. Daily living and stimulating activities are important to us and we try to provide a variety of engaging activities and events. Thank...
I have had a continuous association with AH since 12/2012. It is not the home it once was. With a few exceptions interaction between staff and residents is transactional, not conversational or stimulating. There are different approaches between the ground and dementia care floors. For more than 2 years activities have been extremely poor (self-led activities for residents with dementia are inappropriate). Communication between the home and family is erratic and dependent entirely on individual staff. Turnover of staff is high. Despite supposedly having key workers this has never happened in my experience. Food choice is now very limited, lunch offers a main course of either vegetarian or non-veg. Relatives meetings are held quarterly but minutes have not been circulated to those unable to attend since February 2024. I have no issues with personal care. Excellent hairdressing and chiropody services are available. Front of house staff are friendly and welcoming. I would not use again!
Thank you for taking the time to review Acer House care Home. We appreciate open and honest feedback, had these issues been raised with a member of the team we could have worked constructively and in partnership to improve in areas you feel did not meet your expectation. Our hairdressing and...
My mother entered into this care home as she was no longer safe to live on her own and in a short time she has settled in better than we could have hoped for. She has a lovely bedroom with shower room looking onto trees and has her own patio. The staff from the cleaners to the manageress have all been very welcoming and friendly towards my mother which has made her transition much smoother and they couldn't be more kind or efficient. The amenities are excellent, a hairdressers, spa room and cinema room and a programme of activities for the residents to enjoy and occupy themselves. The food looks lovely and is prepared on the premises and their is plenty of comfortable chairs both in the lounge and the spacious garden. To have mum in such a safe and caring environment where she can be more mobile than in a long time gives myself and my wife peace of mind. Only been two weeks but we are so pleased that mum is happy and well looked after. Excellent care home.
Thank you for taking the time to review Acer House Care Home in WSM. We are so pleased to hear how well your mum has settled, she is a warm and friendly lady who is making friends and engaging well with others.
To state why we gave four stars (not five) would identify the resident. Otherwise mostly very good.
We thank you for taking the time to review Acer House Care Home, we are pleased to hear your experience has been mostly positive. We appreciate your honesty and knowing areas others feel require some improvement gives us something to strive for. We do hope you keep in touch and pop in for a coffee if your passing.
I wanted to take a moment to thank you all for the care, kindness, and dedication you show to my dad each and every day. It's always so clear from my visits just how much you all genuinely care.
It gives me great comfort knowing he is in such capable and compassionate hands. The warmth, patience, and attention you show truly makes a difference-not just to him, but to me as well.
Thank you for everything you do, often without recognition. It means more than I can properly put into words
Thank you for taking the time to review Acer House Care Home, we strive to ensure your family is our family and that the same love and attention is delivered within the the care home setting. Each and every team member goes above and beyond in their own way creating the home from home environment.
The staff at Acer House are caring, friendly and professional. My father is well looked after and is safe in their care. The home is spacious and well organised with a good variety of meal and entertainment options. We have peace of mind that Dad is being well cared for both physically and mentally. There's also a very good medical back up from the GP practice with regular clinician visits to Acer House. We are more than happy with Acer House and the wonderful team who make it all happen.
Thank you for taking the time to review Acer House Care Home, we are pleased to hear both yours and dads experience has been positive. Our connections with the GP surgery do add a layer of security for families knowing that routine ward rounds occur on a regular basis and that the same person...
She loved it so much that she is now permanent. Staff are lovely, very friendly. Nothing is too much trouble. Food is good. Nan is happy and settled, and we always feel welcome visiting.
Thank you for your lovely feedback about Acer House Care home. Your nan is well and truly part of the family and has settled in well, we are pleased you feel welcome as we strive to involve families in the care home life
I chose Acer House for Mum to go to, for a month's respite, after she had been seriously ill in hospital. Two months later and Mum has now made this lovely house and gardens her permanent home. I cannot thank the friendly, caring, professional staff enough for all their kindness and care and reassurance towards Mum. Nothing is too much trouble and we can always ask for and receive help at any time. Mum has friends and wonderful carers in her new home. All of her family and friends love to visit Acer and feel at home there too. Mum is happy and safe, which makes us happy too.
Thankyou for your feedback about Acer House Care home, we are so glad your mum ( and the family) have become part of our Acer House Family. WE strive to ensure all our residents and families feel comfortable and safe in our environment and aim to provide person centred care and support to improve quality of life for all
I have visited a fair number of residential and nursing care homes and regard this as one of the best. The home has a well organised staff structure of caring people at all levels. Understood external access points must be locked at homes, it can be most frustrating ringing a bell and waiting at the door for a random response (hopefully) whereas Acer have a welcoming receptionist with vision of the front entrance controlling resident safety. On entering there is a warm and fresh smelling ambience and the staff are happy to accompany you, if appropriate, to meet residents. There appears to be plenty of facilities to stimulate residents of varying abilities and they are treated with a good level of dignity when individual needs are delivered by the staff. The food quality and choice is quite exceptional and I have always witnessed plenty of nice smiles from operatives and residents alike when visiting.
Thank you for taking the time to leave such a positive review, we are pleased to hear your experience with the home was so positive. We aim to provide 5 star care and support not only to those living within our servicer but to each and every visitor that comes through the front door.
The amazing staff & top notch care provided makes Acer House exceptional! The GM is: professional, approachable, hands on, leads her team by example & has a great sense of humour. She motivates & inspires an excellent team & the residents & staff are 1 big family. Every team member demonstrates great compassion, patience, respect & professionalism to the residents & us families.- even on the most challenging days.Staff are always cheerful & very supportive to residents & families alike. It is such a relief to know mum is both safe & well cared for. I'm so grateful for the extraordinary & individual care mum receives. The staff are proactive in involving us if they have any concerns regarding mum's advancing Altzheimers & take time to involve us in any decisions/changes needed. In 1-1 the staff are at present aiming to get a 2-way conversation for as long as possible & as mum likes her new 6 x 24 piece jigsaws are going to match the activity to what mum enjoys & can do.
Thankyou for taking the time to leave such wonderful feedback about the amazing team we have here at Acer House Care Home, we strive to ensure each resident living here is treated with dignity and respect and support is available to all friends and family. We look forward to continued team working as #onefamily
The highlight being Christmas day, every detail counted leading up to the day with activities and sing-alongs, the home decorated like a hotel and nothing too much trouble, staff are a true credit to teamwork and togetherness, some even popped in to hand out presents on their day off.
Well done to all and a massive thank you.
Thank you for taking the time to review Acer House Care Home, we have a wonderful team that truly embrace the #onefamily motto here, your family is our family and so are you. Christmas is a magical time of year and that should not change just because we get older.
When last year we had to find a care home for my mother we looked around Acer House along with two other homes and first impressions were that this home was streets in front of the other two. 10 months later I am sure we made the right decision as I visited her regularly (about 3 times a week) and on every occasion I found all the staff all playing a caring and supportive service in a care home which is well designed and maintained.
Thank you for your lovely feedback with regards to Acer House Care Home and the staff, we strive to be supportive to our residents and their families to enable us to deliver the best possible outcomes for those using our service.
Mum was unwell and wanted to go in Acer House. The staff were very understanding of the urgency and managed to get mum in swiftly and safely.
A week after mum was unwell, she had a raised temperature which the staff spotted quickly and treated. She then had an accidental fall and the team were there very quickly to support.
Each time I was informed,
I also attended a couple of days ago and did not pass anyone on the desk in reception but had signed in. I took mum into the garden and went to get us a drink. The staff has already noticed mum had left her room and were out looking for her which was very reassuring as it had only been a couple of minutes.
They are always friendly and communicate to me what is going on and encourage mum to participate and leave her room to join in.
Thank you for taking the time to review Acer House Care Home, all feedback is valued and with this in mind I have initiated a change with regards to front of house being away from the desk to ensure the safest measures are in place to monitor visitors coming in and out of the building. I am pleased to hear staff looked for mum effectively when she was not in her usual place.
I am delighted to be moved to write a second review of Acer Car Home
My cousin has been in residence for nearly a year and everything has gone amazingly well. She was madeto feel completely welcome and the staff have been most caring and proficient. A couple of emergencies
were speedily and competently dealt with and we look to the future with optimism. Amazingly her main
health condition of Lympodoema has improved enormously now that she is getting skilled and expert
care.
The activities and facilities on offer are wonderful and the gardens and rooms first class.
Will Done and Thank You!
Thank you for taking the time to review Acer House Care Home, we value your feedback and positive words.
I'm very happy here since I first arrived in January 2025 I've been treated with respect and am well informed of things related to me. The staff are all so fantastic. They work so hard and nothing is too much trouble for them. Acer House is kept so clean and does not smell.
You are a valued member of our community and we love having you here with us. Here's hoping to many more happy times ahead with your new Acer House family.

Hello, my name is Sam, and I am delighted to be the Home Manager here at Acer House.
I have 20 years of experience within the healthcare sector and have achieved qualifications including Levels 2, 3, and 5 Health and Social Care Diplomas, PTTLS Level 3, and Level 3 Health and Safety. Working in residential and nursing settings, I have been lucky enough to have a variety of roles including, a Carer/Senior Carer, Home trainer, Housekeeping, Chef, Activities Co-ordinator, and Deputy Manager, gaining plenty of experience and valuable skills.
Within this time, I have shared many treasurable moments with the residents I have had the pleasure to meet along the way. One moment that I will cherish throughout my career was when I had the privilege to be taught how to knit by a very skilful resident living with dementia. It is such a great talent to withhold, and you will now often find me trying to join in with our knit-and-natter club.
I would best describe myself as someone who is very passionate, determined, and strong-minded. In my spare time, I spend most weekends cheering my son on from the sidelines at his football matches and love relaxing in the garden with my family.
Avery Healthcare, owners of Acer House, best stands out for their spacious, luxurious rooms, exceptional well-being programmes and highly trained, dedicated staff. And Acer House is no different.
