Richmond House is a residential care home specialising in dementia care, supporting residents to live happily and comfortably in the purpose-built home.

The home has fresh and modern features and furnishings which ensure the most up to date services and care can be offered to people living at Richmond house.

Richmond House has a variety of homely areas for residents to spend time in including a library, TV lounge, music area and a quiet lounge. There is also a more busier communal area where there is usually a hive of activity.

There is an outdoor patio area with a summer house and a gazebo for residents to enjoy, with raised flower and vegetable beds for residents to tend to their own plants and a variety of activities are always on offer.

The team is dedicated, passionate and highly skilled and trained in dementia care. Residents are family.

The home prides itself on the quality of food served to residents, with meals freshly cooked using nutritional and fresh local produce, catering to individual dietary and preferred diets. The residents are offered choices at each meal sitting from hot dishes to cold servings.

The ethos and practice of Richmond House is to provide and promote a person-centered service that is efficient, effective and enhances the individual’s experience and quality of life.

So happy with the care and attention that my wife is receiving at Richmond House. It is a very personal and caring environment for her. Attention to detail never spored.
My mind is very much at ease knowing that she is so excellently looked after.

Richmond House's staff and residents have become our new family. Everyone is so kind and caring, always keeping the residents as their main priority. I am still adapting to my mum's illness and the transition of her moving into a care home but the staff have helped me so much and still do. They are
always available with support and a hug. The environment is so bright and happy with many stimulating activities for the residents. Each resident is treated as an individual with the utmost dignity and respect. The cleanliness is of top quality standards and meals are the same. I am forever grateful to all of the staff. They are very special people.

My impression of this care home is exactly what it says, care. Nothing is too much trouble. The place is clean. Plenty of activities going on that is why I chose this place. I can't comment on the food as I haven't seen it but my sister says it's nice. Reasons for good not excellent as the carpets and
curtains are tired but to be expected.

This is an excellent home, very clean and the staff are friendly and welcoming, my mum loves it here. I highly recommend it as I can't say or speak highly enough regarding my mum's care and the integration with staff and the care towards visitors. First class.

Absolutely outstanding care was given to our family member during her respite stay at Richmond House. The staff are trained to the highest of standards nothing was ever a problem if you needed anything Amanda and the staff were straight on it we have used other care homes but nothing compared to here.
Every single thing was so in-depth and done to the highest of standards our family member went in looking exhausted she came out like a new happy person more like her old self we are forever grateful to all the staff I can't thank them enough.

Moving a loved one into care is never an easy decision to make. Will the home be suitable? Will they settle in? Will they receive the right level of care? All questions were answered positively when my mother became a resident. I am unable to visit regularly, I reply on updates from staff and management
and they've been very accommodating and understanding. For example, when my mother had to go to hospital recently, members of staff took it upon themselves to visit and check on her wellbeing. This was very comforting. I have nothing but praise and admiration for the staff and what they do.

As far as I know my husband's care was satisfactory but not enough encouragement to keep mobile. I always felt unwelcome and not involved in his care at all. Staff answers to any questions were contradictory or known to be untrue. Visiting allowed was disgusting and meant my husband often missed visits.
By pre-booking only about nine visitors were allowed per day between 35 patients. Staff were not helpful in assisting with booking.

Thank you for your review. The Management and Staff work hard to create a welcoming and inclusive Home, and we can only apologise if you feel that this was not your experience. Following the Pandemic, we reviewed our Visitor's Policy, based on the needs of the Residents we care for, and found that minimising the volume of Visitors in the Communal Areas - had a positive outcome for our Residents, reducing levels of distress and agitation overall. Visitors are warmly welcomed and encouraged to visit in designated Lounges or Resident's bedrooms. We also invite Visitors to share a meal with their loved ones and celebrate special occasions together, which also appears to be a positive experience for many. Unfortunately, we are unable to respond directly to your concerns raised, referencing your Husband's individual needs, as this is a public platform. We would welcome an opportunity to address any concerns you may have had and would encourage you to contact us if you feel it is of benefit.

On the whole, the care home has very good standards. One of my issues is my mum's laundry is getting ruined. Everything that is white has turned pink or grey and looks awful. The telephone line is shocking and get cut off regularly. Some staff are not very helpful and I worry about communication barriers
due to staff who speak broken English as my mother has very little hearing.

5 stars is not enough. Richmond House and its staff are unbelievable on every level. My mum is a resident there, and my father visited twice a week, they made him so welcome he looked forward to going to visit my mum and see the staff. I can never thank them enough. When my father passed I felt they
not only had my mum in their care, but they have my back. I visited my mum on her birthday not long after my father passed and when I started breaking down, staff were there to support me. Yes, Richmond House is a lovely place, the staff are the beating heart of the place and do an amazing job, above and beyond. Amazing, thank you guys from the bottom of our family's hearts.

From the early days that my dear wife entered Richmond House Care Home, I have observed and felt proud to have witnessed the care, consideration and respect, given to and shown to all residents. Even throughout the dark days of the Covid period, every precaution was taken by Richmond House to safeguard
residents and staff.

Brillant staff, they kept us informed when things happened to my father-in-law. My father-in-law was very happy being there, home from home, he had a fall and they took him to hospital, the security was brilliant as my father-in-law likes to escape, but he couldn't there.

My mum has been at Richmond House since November 2022 - I reluctantly released her from my care as I was struggling. From the minute she reached them, they were amazing - she had a new lease of life - a happy side of my mum came out, and she hugged and kissed and settled with the carer's help.
Sadly
she deteriorated - stopped eating, despite the carers and cooks doing everything they could. They allowed us to come and go as we wished, which was often twice a day. Sadly she passed away with passionate, professional carers and us by her side on June 2nd 2023.

My mum has been in Richmond House nearly a year and I can’t thank the staff enough for looking after her when I haven’t been able to. These have been tough times for residents and staff and they go above and beyond. My mum came to the home after her home closed and the transition from one to the other
was great again nothing was too much trouble and they kept us informed along the way. Mum has settled in well and looks happy and as a daughter that means so much.

I have found the staff most helpful with them looking after my mother. The staff have kept me informed of any problems with her health especially as she entered Richmond House in the lull of the Pandemic. At that time choosing a home with the Covid restrictions in place we entered into a Virtual interview
and the choice we have made, regarding Richmond House is the best decision ever, so say all of us!

After several months of a difficult and emotional search for a care home for my mother, I had a recommendation for Richmond House. My family and I are so thrilled that Richmond House was all that we were looking for.
Mum has settled well and we are comforted to know that she is getting lots of care
and attention.
It’s lovely to see her on social media at times, looking fully engaged and content, this gives me so much peace of mind. I am unable to visit regularly as I live over 200 miles away.
Thank you to all the staff at Richmond House for enriching my mother's life. I can’t recommend you highly enough.

The staff couldn’t be more caring, thoughtful and kind. I live 200 miles away so I am unable to visit, the staff keep me informed of my Aunts progress and / or upsets. My Aunt is in the best possible place and is very happy there.
