Richmond House is a residential care home specialising in dementia care, supporting residents to live happily and comfortably in the purpose-built home.

The home has fresh and modern features and furnishings which ensure the most up to date services and care can be offered to people living at Richmond house.

Richmond House has a variety of homely areas for residents to spend time in including a library, TV lounge, music area and a quiet lounge. There is also a more busier communal area where there is usually a hive of activity.

There is an outdoor patio area with a summer house and a gazebo for residents to enjoy, with raised flower and vegetable beds for residents to tend to their own plants and a variety of activities are always on offer.

The team is dedicated, passionate and highly skilled and trained in dementia care. Residents are family.

The home prides itself on the quality of food served to residents, with meals freshly cooked using nutritional and fresh local produce, catering to individual dietary and preferred diets. The residents are offered choices at each meal sitting from hot dishes to cold servings.

The ethos and practice of Richmond House is to provide and promote a person-centered service that is efficient, effective and enhances the individual’s experience and quality of life.

Richmond House will endeavor to form partnerships with the Service Users and their families in order to make a real difference to their lives.

We first came across Richmond House last year, when we needed a respite facility for my farther and they came highly recommended.
They were very professional and attentive to all of our needs.
We used them on two occasions for respite care.
The thing that blew me away was their attention to detail.
Everything they do is selfless and purely focused on the one needing the care and the needs of their family.
We knew it wouldn’t be long before Dad needed a full-time placement, and when the time came, there were no questions as to where we wanted him to live.
We were very fortunate as they had a room for him, and they made him feel right at home.
The level of care that the team provide is exceptional, my wife works as a nurse in the community and her words say it all.
“I have never seen a facility like this before, I wish they all cared as much as Richmond House”.

My Mother has been at Richmond House for three months. I have not found any fault with the care they have given my Mum, nor have I any concern for the care she is receiving.
Richmond House is always warm and clean, and the food is of good quality.
All the staff are approachable, attentive and extremely
helpful.

I have found the staff to be welcoming, friendly, caring and supportive. The care home has a good atmosphere. The lounge areas are clean, comfortable, light and airy.

I assisted a friend to pick a care home for his auntie as I have worked in a number of care homes myself. We chose this care home out of all the care homes we went to see. This was the best - nice and clean, very well presented. Residents are very well dressed and tidy. The staff always greet you with
a smile when they welcome you into the home. Well done.

Richmond House is providing a warm and caring environment for my mother in law and we're really pleased with the level of care she is receiving there. The staff are always cheerful and enthusiastic when we visit, and everyone goes out of their way to be supportive and friendly. There's a range of organised
activities and opportunities to participate in - music and singing sessions, for example - and a lot of fun seems to be had each day. We're really glad that she's living in such a warm, welcoming and supportive place.

Very nice home (better than expected) clean, tidy, very caring staff. The murals on the wall of the home are very good especially the seaside scene where you can sit as if you are on the beach under the parasol and the hanging seagull. Nothing is too much trouble for any of the staff or management.

An absolute gem - we never thought we would find a home as lovely as this one! The building is lovely and well kept. The facilities are fantastic, it offers everything you could want and more. The staff are all lovely and welcoming, my nanna has settled in so well. I wouldn't recommend anywhere but

My mum found this home after searching all over for somewhere suitable for my Nanna who is suffering with dementia. My Nanna was so unsettled in her last home that moving her was emotional and nervewracking. Immediately on setting foot into the home you get a very reassuring feeling, we all felt welcome,
the staff instantly making her feel at ease. The staff are amazing and so helpful, always smiling and engaging. We were worried my Nanna would take a few weeks to settle however a few days in and she loves it! She has made friends, been involved in arts and crafts which she never would have done before and even gets up in the dancing sessions, in her words "I don't feel any pain when I'm dancing." After an emotional time we feel reassured after a visit, we can go about our daily lives knowing she is being looked after very well when we can't be there with her. Don't hesitate to visit this home and see it for yourself, it's more like a hotel! Thank you to all of the wonderful staff. x

The home is clean and fresh and the atmosphere warm and welcoming. The staff and management are friendly, helpful and any problems they sort them out quickly. My dad is well cared for and he has settled in really quickly. His room is cosy but he doesn’t spend much time in it as residents are encouraged
to mix and join in the numerous activities that go on all day. I would recommend Richmond House to anyone (and have done!)

I have been visiting this home for years and I'm always impressed by the warm, happy, and active atmosphere that greets me. The staff demonstrate such dedication, dignity and respect in their care of the residents, the home smells nice/clean, is always well presented and maintained and the management

Dementia took my Mum almost overnight. She entered Richmond House, May 2017. The staff at Richmond House really know what they are doing. My Mum is now 88 - physically fit and healthy but now lives her life 30 years ago. She has gone back to a time when she was a school cook. Not only do the staff understand
and care for her physical needs, but they also respond and care for her mental and emotional needs. In short, they understand the 'whole picture'. They allow her to keep busy doing little jobs - setting the tables, cleaning table mats so she feels part of things. She has put on weight as she now eats good meals regularly. Truly - what would I have done without the care and support of the staff at Richmond House? I really do not know!

Over the last month, I have visited the care home regularly. I have been greeted by friendly and welcoming staff. My cousin is well cared for and the ethos of the home suits her personality. It is obvious that the staff are well motivated by caring management. Although my cousin is not able to take
part in the activities at the moment I know there are plenty of activities for them to participate in and an excellent care home.
