Since moving my father-in-law to Park House he has settled really well. He likes all the staff they are very friendly and look after him well. Nothing is too much trouble for them they really care. I know he is safe and well cared for. He is quite a loner but they have encouraged him to join in with
the activities even dancing and the entertainment lady is wonderful. It is like visiting him in his own home. It is spotlessly clean and the food is excellent. The manager had been amazing and always had time to speak to me on the phone whenever I called. She has provided advice and I have complete faith in her decision-making as she has the residents' welfare at heart. The residents are treated with dignity and respect. All of the staff should be very proud of what they do as I know the care industry gets bad press.

My wife’s grampa returned to Park House, having spent a month here earlier in the year. Thankfully, he is now settled here long-term because this is such a great care home. The staff are always smiling, always positive, always focused on the residents' well-being and on a different level to the staff
at the many care homes he has stayed at over the course of the last 12 months. He has even been dancing with the wonderful entertainment team, something we never thought we would see! He has a new lease of life. Thank you Park House.

My mum is the happiest I’ve seen her in so long, she looks so happy and healthy.
She thinks of the staff as her family and continuously tells me how happy she is,
I am so thankful for the manager and her team we are so lucky to have my mum here.
You literally will not find a better caring family
family-orientated home.
The management is always around, she is approachable and very bright which is nice to see, and always smiling which impacts the positive team.

Treat my mum as an individual person with care and attention.
Regard her room as her home with all her personal effects around her.
All staff are helpful to both my mum and her visitors. Care of her mental wellbeing and not just physical ones.

The staff at Park House are diligent, cheerful and caring in their various roles, interacting with residents at every opportunity, even putting away newly laundered clothes in wardrobe etc. The freshly cooked food and drinks served throughout the day are nutritious and very well presented. My mam loves
her weekly visit to the onsite salon and enjoys meeting up with and having fun with other residents during the daily activities. An overall great team, providing comfort, support and friendliness to its residents, my mam, for which our family is very grateful.

My reception was very welcoming and gas remained so for the past 18 months.
One quickly feels safe and relaxed. There is an overall sense of calm, management influence demonstrated by quick response.
The resident settles quickly and bonds confidently.
Management demonstrates skills derived from experience
and compassion emulated by the staff.

Thank you to you and your totally fabulous team for the love and care given to my mother-in-law and for the support, love and care given to myself and her family, especially in her last days.
The compassion, patience, and commitment to caring that I experienced both for her and other residents whilst
sitting with her was totally humbling.
You have an amazing staff team, and thank you simply cannot express the gratitude we feel.
You all do a really difficult but rewarding job that deserves far more than you all actually get paid, and you are truly angels on earth.
For anyone reading this, my mother-in-law was in Park House for three and a half years, and her dementia was challenging. However, the team loved her spirit and took everything in their stride, treating her with love, compassion, humour and dignity. She passed away on New Year's Eve 2023 at peace.
The team are exceptional, and we couldn't have asked for her to spend her last years in a better place.

I needed to find emergency respite care from my mum when my stepfather suddenly died and I phoned around a number of homes in the local area. I was immediately impressed by the manager and on that basis alone I selected Park House for my mum. I could not have been more fortunate as the manager and her
entire team were just fantastic making my mum feel welcome, secure and really cared for at her most vulnerable time. When it came for my mum to leave Park House it was a real wrench for her as she had settled so quickly and completely, got involved with and loved all the activities and every member of staff knew her and she knew them. We could not have asked for more, and can only hope my mum has a similarly positive experience in her new home.

My mother-in-law has recently joined Park House Care Home as a resident. She settled in right away and is very happy in her new home. This I'm sure is down to the friendly and cheerful staff, the homely feel that you get when you enter the care home and the attentiveness of all of the staff, from managers
to carers, catering and domestic staff. The home is always decorated immaculately, is tidy and smells fresh and clean.
She is an active resident and enjoys joining in with the activities there on a daily basis. She is more than catered for at mealtimes with a good choice of home-cooked meals and often has seconds at the dinner table.
The importance of knowing your loved one is in a safe and caring environment can never be underestimated. Being a nurse working within the community, I visit many care homes as a health professional and can honestly say that Park House is one of the nicest homes I have visited.

Whenever I go and visit the staff are always so caring and extremely helpful. Any problems that occur, they are sorted right away. The staff are so professional at all times and the manager of the care home is friendly and attentive. There are always activities going on no matter what and the care home
overall is extremely clean. I would say the care home does not feel like a care home at all but rather gives off a homely feel.

After having poor previous experience with other care homes. Park House is outstanding. From day 1 my mother-in-law enjoyed meals in the dining room, enjoying the company of other residents. Something she hadn't done previously for 6 months. She felt comfortable and welcomed straight away by the staff
and management. They alone made it feel like home from home to us and to her. The rooms and furnishings are bright, fresh and clean with brilliant facilities including a hair salon which my mother-in-law enjoyed visiting. Activities and shows were available often and encouraged to participate or watch. Ultimately the care and support we received as a family and to my mother-in-law was unconditional and we are very grateful for that. The dignity and respect given at her end-of-life care is something we will never forget and massively appreciate.

My experience at Park House has been excellent. I feel that my Mum's care is wonderful, the staff is always receptive to her needs and any requests are addressed quickly. My mum is nonverbal so it's really important that the staff take the time to understand what she needs or desires and the staff at
Park House manage this very well. They treat my Mum with respect and they feel like her friend which is lovely.

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.948) out of 10 for Park House Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 32 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 32 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.948 for Park House Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (363 Excellents x 5) + (20 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 383 Ratings = 4.948
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Park House Care Home is based on 32 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 57 registered maximum number of service users is 11.4, which has been reached with 32 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
