This home looked after my mum for 20 months after she had to move from independent living. They did it well. The home is purpose-built - providing a good standard of accommodation. The home is well-led and the staff are caring.

My mother-in-law has recently moved into Park House, having moved from another care home. There is no comparison between standards of care, service and facilities. Everything here is excellent. My mother-in-law has been made to feel very welcome and as settled in so well. All members of staff are professional
and more importantly, caring and kind.

Straight to the point, if my mam and dad wanted care I would recommend this place because its home from home, the staff are lovely, can't fault them. Father in law is very relaxed and as best as he is health-wise.

Dad has dementia and arrived at Park House from the hospital in a very confused and agitated state, however within half an hour of him settling in his room he had relaxed and looked just like my "old dad" sitting in his favourite chair at home. Staff have made us as his family feel part of a larger
family and concerns and questions have always been dealt with sympathetically and promptly. Nothing is too much trouble and yes in an ideal world we would love to have dad home but feel that this is now his and our "home from home " where we can all be ourselves.

My father recently passed away at this nursing home. His care had always been very good but once he was in his final days, the care, understanding and compassion became 2nd to none; in short, excellent.
I would highly recommend this nursing home.

My grandpa was a resident of Park House for just over 2 years. Right from the beginning he felt settled and content and was treated with dignity by staff. When he was on end of life care the carers were lovely to him - to see their relationship with him, even in his last few days, was very special and
brought some comfort to his family. Thanks for everything, from Grandpa and our family.

My grandpa was a resident at Park House for just over 2 years. He settled in quickly and was clearly comfortable and happy in his new home. Park House provided excellent end of life care for my grandpa.
Staff went above and beyond to ensure the best possible care and support was provided for both my
grandpa and family members who visited. Staff provided a regualr and personal contact to my grandpa and treated him with dignity during this difficult period. As a family, we would like to thank and praise Park House for everything they have done for us.

My first visit to Park House confirmed that this establishment far outshines the many others I'd seen and was my first choice for my father's future home. He has been resident for just over two years and has been treated with care, consideration, respect and dignity. My father's health has rapidly deteriorated
and the staff responded professionally and appropriately to accommodate his increasing needs. It is a great relief to his family to know he is so well looked after.

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.948) out of 10 for Park House Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 32 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 32 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.948 for Park House Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (363 Excellents x 5) + (20 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 383 Ratings = 4.948
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Park House Care Home is based on 32 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 57 registered maximum number of service users is 11.4, which has been reached with 32 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
