I cannot fault the care that my father-in-law has received since being in Park House. The staff from the matron to the cleaners are both professional, caring and friendly. They know which of your relatives is in care and take the time to get to know you also. I am informed immediately of any changes/issues
concerning my father-in-law and have total confidence in the care he's receiving.

We were delighted to take up the room before somebody else. My sister-in-law is terminally ill but due to genuinely caring staff who are constantly passing the open door, making sure she is comfortable etc. I was also very pleased and wish to thank a member of staff who gave me comfort after I came
from the room very upset. She was very caring and sat me down with a cup of tea and a hug which was what I needed as I had lost my wife only a few months before.
I can honestly say that I have no negative thoughts.

My mother was discharged from hospital to Park House as she was not well enough to go home and yet too well to remain in hospital. Staff at Park House showed enormous patience and caring towards Mother at a time when she was quite disorientated due to ongoing delirium. From the start, the staff worked
hard to establish a rapport in what was a quite difficult time. Although Mother will eventually return home as she continues to recover, I and all my family who have visited during her stay would have no hesitation in choosing Park House if long term care became appropriate.

I have many friends and relatives who, in the past, have been in care homes so I am able to come to the conclusion very easily that Park House is far superior to any that I have been in.

Every member of staff that we met were cheerful, helpful and very caring towards our dear friend. Always ready to go that extra mile, the carers were, to say the least, wonderful - they are your greatest asset and worthy of such praise. You can be very proud of all of them. I am!

In the main, staff were extremely kind and caring. The food was acceptable and plenty of it. No complaints at all. If things needed "working out" the management did not shirk their responsibilities. The tick boxes below express the family satisfaction with my deceased wife's last few months in the care
home.

Just wanted to say that I am so very pleased to get my Dad into this home. I have heard all about it before my Dad needed to go into care. The home is lovely, but the staff are amazing, not just with the residents but also the family and friends. The staff make a very difficult time a lot easier. Total
professionals in all capacity.

My mother was a resident for 6 months. We always found staff to be kind, caring and compassionate. All members of the team (management, carers, laundry, cleaning, catering) greeted us with a warm, smile and a friendly welcome. It is a lovely environment and our mother was in such good hands. Special
mention to the activities coordinator and her volunteer sister who always went above and beyond to bring joy to residents and their families.

My husband came into Park House Care Home a short while ago. I have visited him each day and cannot praise the staff enough for their endless effort, support and consideration they have given him and us. The staff are so friendly and cheerful and this to me is what makes a good care home. DEDICATION!

The facilities are clean and comfortable. Staff are kind and helpful. None has ever shown impatience when asked for help especially in getting to the toilet. The menu is varied and naturally cannot please everyone. More choice would be appreciated but this could lead to waste.

Could not believe the level of attention to the life of my uncle at Park House. He is given specialist care, has a lovely room and there is so much going on with entertainment, shows and more importantly for my uncle, they have friendship dogs. The staff are welcoming, friendly and knowledgeable, management
are dedicated.

My father who suffers from dementia and is wheelchair bound has been in Park House since January 2017 and until recently, we have been generally satisfied with his care and with Park House. We are totally self-funding. However, recent developments have alarmed us considerably. An unusually large number
of staff have left or are currently in the process of leaving. They quote management and working conditions as their reasons for departure. These risks are having an unsettling impact on the residents and a drop in the standard of care. There have already been times when insufficient staff are available to attend to my fathers' needs. This has left us very worried. We do hope this situation will be investigated and resolved so that Park House can regain our trust and confidence.

What a wonderful care home. Greeted by every member of staff with a smile. Colourful, vibrant, imaginative displays everywhere you look. There are games and singing on the top floor, a beautifully equipped hair salon (where I cut my friend's hair).
Flags for the world cup, relative to the occasion.
I have been visiting care homes for many years and this one tops the lot. Well done.

Current Review Score: 9.9 (9.948)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.948) out of 10 for Park House Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 32 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 32 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.948 for Park House Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (363 Excellents x 5) + (20 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 383 Ratings = 4.948
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Park House Care Home is based on 32 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 57 registered maximum number of service users is 11.4, which has been reached with 32 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
