Park View Residential Care Home

My father has been a resident at Park View Sheffield since April. He has dementia and I was devastated that we were at this point as a family but when I took him in the staff welcomed him with all they knew and it was like they had been his friends for years. It has taken time to settle but after 6 weeks we are getting there. He does the gardening which is what he loves. The garden plays such an important part of Dad's life he couldn't be happier. The staff are fab to all of us. We come and go like it's our home too. The home is amazing not only in terms of looking like a 5-star hotel but the food, the activities, the warmth. We couldn't be happier that this is a great place for Dad so he is safe, warm, fed and cared for. I can call or go in when I want. He is cared for and safe so thank you to all of you for making us so welcome and more importantly making Dad feel welcome and happy.

Park View was our first choice for Mum a couple of years ago. She is very well looked after. The staff are so friendly, nothing is too much trouble. With Mum's Alzheimers and unsteady walking, she falls a lot. The staff always phone my sister straight away to inform her. The care they give is amazing.

Wanted to say how excellent the staff are at Park View Care Home (Sheffield). The care and compassion they give to all residents is so heartwarming. My mum has a lot of falls; I've always been contacted and on the occasions I've had to go with her to hospital, the staff have always been with my mum, waiting for me and the ambulance crew to arrive to take her. They genuinely care.

Mum has been at Park View for 4 years now and I cannot fault the care she has received. The staff are amazing and they all deserve a medal. Mum has advanced dementia now so cannot really interact with the entertainment programme, however, there are plenty of activities for the residents to partake in. Meals are first-class and plentiful - 3 good meals a day and cake and biscuits in between. Like being in a 5-star hotel. Thank you Park View for everything you do for my Mum.

My nanna loves living here. She talks about it all the time.

Dad has been back at Park View only a couple of weeks after being in hospital for a while, but the care, patience and love he has received has been fantastic. The staff at Park View are really lovely nothing is too much trouble they are always ready to have a chat with us aswell as giving Dad the best care.

This care home is really friendly and clean with good meals and most of all great caring staff. This is the place I would want to be in my old age should I suffer and need them.

I have always found Park View to be a clean, bright and friendly place to visit. My mother-in-law has lived here for four years and I had no hesitation in bringing my own mother to live here last year too. She was very happy here until she passed away earlier this year.

My mum has been at Park View Residential Care Home for four years now and I have always been happy with the care she is given. The home is clean, bright and cheerful. The staff are friendly and caring and I have felt comfortable discussing any concerns, which are always addressed and I am kept well informed.

Park View is a great care home really welcoming atmosphere and very clean, staff that make residents feel like family. From the manager to the cleaners they treat my aunty with dignity and respect. 10/10. I would recommend Park View for your loved one.

A lovely homely environment feels like family. Allows older people to live their best life. Which they deserve.

The summer fair was fantastic, was lovely to see the staff coming together to put this on. Always a pleasure year on year.

It's a real home from home feel a calm and relaxed atmosphere that is echoed to all who walk through the door.

Park View Residential Care Home is a nice place to live for older people with dementia. The staff are really caring and helpful and make sure the residents are well cared for and that each individual resident's needs are met. Through Covid, Park View did extremely well to keep the morale up of residents and staff.

My dad wasn't into long-term care it was a huge emotional decision for us as a family to make. From the manager, desk staff, carers, and domestic staff, everyone was very welcoming. The staff listened to our worries and concerns and these were acted on, with regular communication from staff. My dad has thrived since being in the home and that is all because of the amazing team they have here dad is loving all the attention he receives. So thank you to you all for making this journey with dad easier.

Extremely bad experience at this home, just remember that it makes your heart ache at having to place a loved one in somewhere because you are struggling at home to meet their needs, but to see a decline as we did in the first 4 weeks here was unimaginable, pressure sore, broken teeth, weight loss the list is endless, don’t be fooled at how lovely a place looks.

Mum has lived at Park View since 2015 and has been well looked after from day 1. Severe dementia means she is completely dependent on 24-hour care now and is immobile and uncommunicative. Staff monitor her well-being closely and always report any concerns promptly. There have been several times, during mum’s residency, when she has been considered to be at the end of life and Park View has treated us all with compassion, dignity and sensitivity. Thankfully under their constant care, she has rallied and improved. The home appears to have a good activities schedule but, unfortunately, mum can no longer participate as she did when she first became a resident. However, she does still get her hair washed, cut and dried in the on-site “salon” and enjoys the high standard of food served there.
