We cannot fault the care our Mum has received since moving into Park View in August 2020. We are always well informed by the extremely friendly staff, who are always well informed and able to answer any questions we have. My mum obviously is enjoying the food at Park View as she has gained weight. Unfortunately, we have not been able to experience Park View without covid restrictions and we are looking forward to being able to visit without restrictions.

Thank you for taking the time to review our home and for your kind words - they are so appreciated. The safety of our residents and staff continues to be our highest priority and we do look forward to the time we can welcome our residents' loved ones without any restrictions. Best wishes, Fae

Park View staff loved our relative. They didn't get everything right but they never tried to cover up when things went wrong. They always cared. Our relative was challenging to care for, with multiple issues, so a good test of the system, Park View passed with flying colours.

The staff at Parkview do a wonderful job under testing conditions. Mum is always clean, tidy and well-fed and more importantly, hydrated. All staff are very approachable and will make time to discuss options, ideas and thoughts. Friendly and professionally managed. Their hard work is greatly appreciated and it has been lovely to feel that Mum is safe despite her deteriorating condition.

Park View has continued to care well for my mum throughout these difficult times. The staff have done all they can to keep her safe and well. The all-important visits, albeit behind a screen, have been maintained when others have struggled. My mum is treated kindly and with respect. She is always clean and nicely dressed, even with lipstick, just as she always was before succumbing to Alzheimer’s. She enjoys her food and generally looks very content. She was vaccinated very early and any health issues are always addressed promptly. I very much look forward to my twice-weekly visits and am extremely grateful to the staff who have been there for my mum.

My mum has been a resident at Park View since September 2019. The care Mum has received has been fantastic. The staff are kind, caring and the home is clean, welcoming and has a happy atmosphere.

During this pandemic, the staff have done their utmost to keep the residents safe and happy, and it's been reassuring to know she's in such good hands. We receive photos and can see she is happy. I would definitely recommend Park View for loved ones.

My mother has been here since April and settled really well. The care is good and I'm happy with the home, staff are friendly, it's clean and safe, and I would recommend it for any of my family members/friends/or relatives. My mother has day trips out and there are a lot of activities for her to keep her stimulated.

I find Park View has a welcoming, friendly and calm atmosphere at every visit. The purpose-built design works really well compared to other homes I've been involved with over the last 10 years, as it gives residents a choice of where to spend their day rather than looking at the same 4 walls or constant TV. The meals are home-cooked and varied. The staff are really supportive to families as well as the residents, they keep you well informed and are quick to respond to any worries.

My mom only became a resident at Park View in March but even in this short period of time the change in our mom has been phenomenal and me and my two brothers put it down solely to the fantastic team at the home. Nothing is too much trouble and it’s a great peace of mind to us to know that she is happy and getting the care she needs as and when required. Thank you to the manager and all the team.

My wife has been resident at Park View for just over three years. Due to the manager and her entire team of loving, dedicated staff, my wife has remained stable as regards her Alzheimer's problem.
Recently, major refurbishments have been made to floors, lighting, corridors and furniture which really makes it more like a hotel than a care home.

Quite honestly my wife couldn't be in a home with more loving, dedicated carers.

I do think that a member of the Carers Team should go with patients suffering with Alzheimer's. They don't know what is happening and can't answer questions for the doctors (going to the hospital if not well or had a fall).

Thank you for recommending Park View. I was sorry to read the comment about not having an escort for appointments as you have said you would prefer yourself or another family member to accompany your sister to appointments. As discussed, if there are instances where you would like us to go instead please do let us know.

Laundry is very much improved. The cleanliness of hoist used to get residents out of bed and into shower leave a lot to be desired. Once a month is not enough when being used for other residents.
Meals are very good, never been a drop in standards by cooks.

Activities are minimal (when hairdressers is classed as an activity).

Reply from Andrea Stenton, Home manager at Park View Residential Care Home

Thank you so much for your review. I am pleased to say we have had a recent review of activities so will be making some changes imminently. I am really sorry about your thoughts regarding the hoist and can reassure you that I have spoken to my team who will be doing extra cleaning checks.
