Located on the outskirts of Hythe in Southampton, West Cliff Hall is a beautiful and majestic care home, set in expansive landscaped gardens and overlooking Hythe Marina and Southampton Water. Mum has been in Westcliff Hall since March 2022 and has settled in well. The staff are very encouraging towards her, and she does try to join in all the activities that appeal to her. Thank you to all the staff for all your hard work and making the home a happy environment to live in. I would recommend
the home to other people looking for residential care.

My father was initially very reluctant to come to a care home for much-needed respite care, but in the space of a week, the staff had completely turned around his attitude and contributed to a remarkable recovery from a series of falls at home - which can only be due to the quality of care provided.
I
had already viewed the home over a year ago just in case we needed it in the future and every member of staff I have dealt with has been very professional and genuinely caring. The care home was able to swiftly assess my father when we were having problems and admit him within a few days which made the entire process relatively stress-free. As this was only a short stay for respite I could not fully assess the activities, but the programme looked good. The standard of renovation and decoration of the original part of the building is very high. The room was spacious and en suite well designed but if staying for a longer period would need personal items/small furniture to feel homely.

Thank you to all the staff at West Cliff Hall Care Home. From the first day of the manager showing us around, we were made to feel welcome within the week my sister-in-law had moved in; the staff were so helpful she was made to feel at ease from her first minute.
They started care from when we arrived,
made her tea, took her down for lunch while we made up the room to make it feel a little like home, showered her and washed her hair; she looked like a new lady. We have had a few troubles with settling in, it's nothing to do with West Cliff Hall, it's just circumstances, but they have made every effort to help my sister-in-law - they even moved her to another room and painted the door a different colour. Through the thunders storms, a member of staff sat with her to keep her feeling safe. They made a difficult situation a little easier for us all, so a big thank you to you all!

Mum has been at West Cliff now for ten months, she is happy, settled and well looked after. West Cliff Hall has a Facebook page and is excellent at posting pictures of the residents doing various activities during the week. Mum even went sailing this week! It is a great way of keeping up with what Mum
is doing, as she doesn't remember it can be a good conversation starter during visits. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend West Cliff to anyone having to move a loved one to a care home. Keep up the good work.

We were very impressed at the welcome and all the effort that the staff put into making the Garden Party on June 3rd for the celebration of the Queens Platinum Jubilee so special. We were impressed with the BBQ and the general catering that had been done. Consideration had been given to entertainment
for the little ones with a bouncy castle and for the adults with the live and very good singer. You could just tell that the staff also enjoyed it and Mum was singing along and even encouraged by a carer to get up and ‘dance’ (well move her arms and wiggle her hips!).

At 95 years young my mother moved into West Cliff Hall Care Home initially for a period of respite following a couple of falls. We soon agreed that this was the level of support she needed for her future. Facilities are excellent inside the building with beautiful gardens and views across Southampton
Water. Staff and management have been very friendly, and welcoming from day 1, supporting the life-changing transition for mother with utmost respect and understanding. A good programme of activities is provided and facilitated, and independence is encouraged with a careful eye on the health and wellbeing of residents. Visiting by family and friends is straightforward and welcomed, and we all feel and appreciate the homely atmosphere.

During my father's short stay at West Cliff Hall he found the overall stay enjoyable and the staff helpful and friendly.
His room was very roomy and comfortable with lovely views.
He enjoyed all of the activities and the trip out to the local garden centre.

The home is very welcoming and has a fresh sophisticated interior. The staff I have met are all very approachable and friendly. The home is very secure. West Cliff Hall feels like a big family all working together to provide good care. They are always very accommodating and provide lots of activities

I have found the placement for my mother to be satisfactory, the staff of continuous employment over the last two years have had a great presence at all times. However, over this period of time, there has been many changes of staff and three new managers, but on this point, I would like to express my
thanks for the continuous support of the staff and manager. I feel its rooms are looking very tired and in need of refurbishment. In my opinion, the bedrooms are the heart of the residents, so brightness and being inviting would be an advantage. I have asked for my mother to be moved to a brighter room.

My mother-in-law was a respite resident at West Cliff Hall. Although it was a short stay she enjoyed it. The care is of a high standard and the staff are very friendly. I would definitely recommend West Cliff Hall and will be looking to book another respite stay.
