Great staff, very caring and I feel comfortable that my mum is being well looked after 24/7. The entertainment for the residents is second to none and when my visits have coincided with entertainment I am always willing to join in.

My husband has been in Lavender Hills for two years now. He has a strange dementia which needs to be controlled with strong drugs. He does not forget the past, he forgets very recent events and gets very confused about time and days of the week. All the staff are very good with him, and very patient. He is 64 on the 16th of June and we have a daughter who is getting married next February. The manager took him for a ride today to see the hotel our daughter is getting married in. She is also bringing him to the wedding, and she took him out in her car when lockdown lifted because he just wanted to see what had changed in the local area.

Mum has been a resident of Lavender Hills for a few years now. I have always felt that the staff know Mum well and that she is part of a 'family' atmosphere. She has received excellent care, especially recently when the home was closed to visitors at the height of the pandemic. Coming back in to see Mum after restrictions have been lifted slightly, I have been made to feel very welcome but also know that strict procedures are in place to keep everyone (residents, staff and visitors) safe. My mum is treated with dignity and respect and I would recommend Lavender Hills as an excellent home.

After eventually testing negative to Covid19, Mum was discharged from hospital to Lavender Hills in Ramsbottom. From the word "go", Mum has been well looked after by the staff. Nothing is too much trouble. I have been informed of everything that involves Mum - from the first Covid injection, an eyesight test in the home, to having her hair done. The surrounding views from the home are lovely. Even the drive up to the home from the road has attractions - the bird table for one has many different kinds of birds to-ing and fro-ing from it. Finally, the safe visiting in the specially made lodge there was an absolute gem of an idea! After not seeing Mum for many weeks, being able to see her and talk to her in comfort, without having to wear a mask or shout was absolutely wonderful. Well done Lavender Hills!

All staff know Dad when I call and can update me. They are kind and caring to him. They treat him with dignity and respect. He has a good routine to his day. Despite the lockdown I can see and speak with him regularly. Dad says the food is 'champion' which is a good sign and reassures me. The staff take time to talk with Dad. It’s a great place.

The facilities at Lavender Hills are excellent. The activities organisers are extremely conscientious and try to be very inclusive with all the residents. The staff are very caring and mindful of each resident's individual needs. Any time an issue was raised, it was dealt with quickly and effectively. The food has improved tremendously over recent months. The rooms are of a good standard and cleanliness is very satisfactory.

I live in Jersey so am not able to visit very often but I can honestly say since the lockdown, I have seen more of my gran on Facebook than in the last 10 years or so. Your videos and photos are so uplifting and often make me smile for the day. Thank you to all the staff for making this possible.

My friend arrived at Lavender Hills in December and was welcomed into the family. He settled very quickly with the help and support of all the caring team. There have been so many fantastic activities for him to be involved with which have been stimulating and engaging. I know he is enjoying himself because his big smile is back on his face. He has had the opportunity to admire the spectacular views from his own private room and whilst out on a short walk with the carers. It has been great that I have been able to visit him in the Evelina Park Lodge during lockdown knowing everybody was safe. It is with great appreciation that events are posted on Facebook which enables me to feel close to my friend and have an insight into his daily living. I know my friend is happy, safe and cared for at Lavender Hills. Thank you all so very much!

Hi Elaine,

Thank you so much for your wonderful comment! We love that he has been able to settle in so easily and make himself at home here as part of our Lavender Hills family. It's also lovely to hear that you are both able to stay connected in our visiting lodge over the pandemic. We look forward one day being able to open our home again for friends and families to take part in our events.

My Mum has been a resident of Lavender Hills for well over a year and I can honestly say that my family and I cannot speak highly enough of the care she has received in this time. The home is beautifully situated and is well maintained and cheerful. The staff are amazing and I cannot thank them enough for the way in which my Mum has been looked after. They are always very caring, reassuring and sensitive to Mum’s needs and have undertaken a whole host of activities to keep the residents entertained. I’m always amazed by how much time and effort goes into the activities provided by staff, which I often see on their Facebook page. Given the unprecedented times we have been living in with Covid-19, we have been able to reassure ourselves of Mum’s well-being either through regular video calls with her or more recently by visiting the Evelina Lodge. I would highly recommend Lavender Hills to anyone who is looking to place their relative in a caring and supportive environment. Thank you, Lavender Hills.

Homely, comfortable and caring home. Lots of laughter noted when visiting, plenty of entertainment and activities for residents. Everyone seems happy and contented. Location with absolutely stunning views, first-class. New visitors lodge an added bonus in these difficult times, enabling families to visit after months of lockdown. Brilliant!

Feel very confident that our relative is being well cared for. Unfortunately, she was very unwell earlier in the year and sadly, not as ambulant or involved with care home life as she was. Which is really sad with all that is provided with enthusiasm from ALL members of staff.

Mum has been in the care of Lavender Hills for over 5 years. During that time, I have been pleased with all aspects of her care. The home is always clean and tidy, and the standard of food is good. The staff are clearly dedicated and caring, and the new manager has already had a positive impact.

I'm fully aware of the difficulties with visits but have been accommodated with window visits and garden visits during the warmer months. Yesterday, I was able to experience the new lodge - an excellent facility that allows a quality visit in these difficult times.

The staff really go out of their way to assist. Both my mum and dad are at Lavender Hills. It is in a beautiful setting, with lovely views, and the rooms are spacious. I feel mum and dad are looked after really well. Recently a new chef has started, and the one previously was a slightly disappointing feature - the quality of the food has now improved massively - the food is great.

Thank you so much for these really kind words, we're very happy to have your parents with us and are happy to hear you think this way about our home. We are definitely lucky with the location! We're all really happy with the new chef, he's made such an improvement to our menu - it's always exciting coming into the kitchen to see what amazing food he's cooking up.

My father sadly passed away on the 1st September following a heart attack, having lived permanently at Lavender Hills from December 2018. I cannot speak highly enough of the staff and of the home. He was always immaculately turned out, his room was always clean and tidy with his bed always made and his towels changed daily. He was encouraged to maintain his independence in as many areas as possible but was always given help to do the things he could no longer manage for himself. I visited regularly most weeks and he recounted tales of what he'd been doing, from Zumba class to arts and crafts, musical events to flower arranging. There is always something going on at Lavender Hills and whilst residents are encouraged to join in and take part, their privacy is respected if they prefer to remain in their own room. Dad enjoyed his privacy and had made his room a proper little 'home from home' with lots of paintings, pictures and photographs of family. This is a wonderful place!

We chose Lavender Hills for my mother-in-law as it seemed home from home as soon as you walked in and was set in a beautiful, peaceful location with plenty of space in a grand old building. Although my mother-in-law was very unwell when she moved in, being discharged from hospital to their care, the staff were wonderful, taking every care of her, and for us as family it was a lovely, reassuring place to go to visit, taking a great load off our mind with families being made very welcome. I remember after one visit sitting outside on the terrace in the sunshine listening to a chiffchaff singing its heart out with the surrounding woodlands rustling their leaves, looking out across the grounds towards the view of the Rossendale valley and must have spent an hour just sat there (ma-in-law was sleeping). It's the kind of place I'll be looking for when my time comes. Thanks everyone.
