Apart from the warmth generated by the decor as soon as you enter which is very rare to find in other homes in the area! This is soon reinforced by the naturally friendly yet professional manner shown by each member of the staff and management which all in all generates the happy atmosphere throughout
the home, everyone looks and feels like they are having fun without losing sight of the high standard of care and professionalism for all the residents!
It really is a great place great decor, good furnishings but fantastic carers including those not seen too often, the back room boy (s)!

My Mother moved to Lavender Hills in December 2018. From our first contact with the home to the present day, we have found the staff team to be wonderful. They are professional, caring, welcoming and treat everyone with dignity and respect. Nothing is too much trouble. Mother has all her personal items
around her. We were assisted in putting up pictures, her own bed, her television, by staff members, who even painted her room with her choice of colour.
The activities offered are outstanding, the effort and care by staff is second to none. Mother and the family found the transition from moving from her home to her new home at Lavender Hills was made much easier by the support and dedication of the staff team.

My family member has only lived here for a short time. My family member settled in almost immediately. The home is clean. The staff never seem to sit still. I have scored all relevant options as good as there is always room for improvement, in all walks of life.

My parents were warmly welcomed by all the staff at Lavender Hills. It is a wonderful care home, with a dedicated and sympathetic team. There are plenty of imaginative events for residents, which is so vital.
Lavender Hills has become like family. I can’t recommend it highly enough. Although my Dad’s
needs must now be met elsewhere, I am thrilled by how stimulated and contented my relative has become, thanks to this wonderful place.

My mother was a resident at Lavender Hills for four years. In that time we have been impressed by the consistently high quality of care. The building itself is extremely well maintained and standards of cleanliness and hygiene are very high.
It would be hard to find a group of people more committed
to doing their very best for the people in their care. Staff take time to get to know residents as individuals, going so much further than simply providing care. We too have always felt a part of the Lavender Hills community. Any concerns have been dealt with quickly, efficiently and with understanding.
We saw the affection and personal involvement of so many members of staff during the final stage of my mother's life. They looked after her in a sensitive and dignified manner, and leaving us finally with the sense that they too had lost someone they cared about and would miss.
We are very grateful to them for making the last four years of my mother's life so very happy and comfortable.

This is a care home that cares very much. We visited our relative who recently died three times a week so got to know the staff very well. Their aim is to make residents happy and secure and most of them go the extra mile. The management is superb and they set a great example. Also a very happy environment.
I would not hesitate to recommend.

My 96-year-old father was very apprehensive about moving from semi-independent living in his own house to the unfamiliar surroundings of a care home. Fortunately, Lavender Hills has dispelled his fears, providing a warm, friendly and caring environment in beautiful surroundings close to his old address.
We, his family have the advantage of knowing that he is experiencing a safe, clean and comfortable life in the care of a wonderful complement of staff.

Lavender Hills was exactly what we were looking for as a 2-week respite home for my mum whilst we were on holiday. My mum has early Alzheimer's so, although she needed someone to keep a friendly eye on her, we also wanted somewhere she'd enjoy with people similar to herself that she could socialise
with.

After viewing a couple of totally inappropriate places we tried Lavender Hills and it was lovely! A gorgeous looking huge house in its own grounds that was as close to a home as we could find. Mum was given a choice of rooms, each one was unique, and all the staff were so friendly and chatty. There was a hairdresser, entertainment and a choice of lounges to sit in. The food was lovely, the place was lovely and the staff were lovely and overall we were exceedingly happy with the whole experience and wouldn't hesitate to use Lavender Hills again.

The first time I visited this place I was very impressed by the love and warmth of the staff. Also, it was exceptionally clean and did not smell of urine at all. The second visit we were invited to have lunch with them and the residents. I still had not changed my mind from the first visit. It was that
I could quite easily have a week there myself. It was like being in a hotel. On going back for my Husband to stay for a week I could go away in total peace and enjoy my break. He has dementia yet is still talking about his holiday and want to go back.

From the moment I stepped into Lavender Hills Care Home, I was made most welcome. The staff were wonderful, helpful and caring. The meals were very good. I am hoping to go back there when my wife has respite. The bedroom was very clean and I had my own shower and toilet.

This home is nicely decorated and feels like home. It is run very well and we are impressed that there is never the stale smell associated within most other homes. The food is good with no complaints and a few extra pounds gained. We are kept informed of all changes and the team take the initiative
to call doctors as needed The team deal with challenging situations as they arrive. We are happy with the care and would recommend Lavender Hills. The manager is superb.

My mum is very settled at the home. All her needs are met by staff with a caring approach. Her room is always clean and tidy and staff are available to ask questions about my mum. I am contacted by the home if they need me or my sister for anything. I am very satisfied with mums care in the home. It
would be useful to have some visitor chairs to use when visiting mum in the home.

My mother entered Lavender Hills from hospital as she had fallen and was unable to walk, dress herself etc. After a while and a couple of months her mobility came back but was very limited. For the first few months she complained she wanted to go home, but eventually, she accepted that she was in the
best place for her at the time.

I took her out once a week and my brother and I shared visits approximately 6 out of 7 days a week. She moved rooms and watched all that was going on, they gave her independence whilst keeping an eye on her. They nursed her exceptionally well at the end, keeping us involved at all times. She was there for 2 years 1 month.

My wife was admitted at the beginning of November 2016 and died there in March 2017. I cannot speak too highly of the care and attention that she received. All staff were forever kind, cheerful and ready to do what was necessary and then more.I visited every afternoon for four months and got to know
all staff and some of the residents really well. There is a wonderful family atmosphere. I am full of admiration for all the staff. I did not realise that there were so many good people in our usually cynical world.

We started volunteering at the beginning of summer and have loved every second of visiting the care home and making new friends which my daughters have called their grandmummies and grandaddies. The staff have been incredibly welcoming, helpful and patient. The home is lovely and our grand friends seem
very happy and content. We love our visits and hope they continue for a very long time to come and we thank everyone for being so kind and looking after us.

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.923) out of 10 for Lavender Hills Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 37 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 37 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.923 for Lavender Hills Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (409 Excellents x 5) + (34 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 443 Ratings = 4.923
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Lavender Hills Care Home is based on 37 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 45 registered maximum number of service users is 9, which has been reached with 37 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
