The aim is to provide the highest level of care in a dignified and compassionate way, with the best facilities and equipment in a comfortable home with trained experienced staff. There is a full and diverse activities programme for the residents put on throughout the home, providing many opportunities to socialise, participate and pursue their own interests. Outside there are beautiful, landscaped gardens and courtyards planted with year-round colour which are accessed by level, flat paths.
Qualified nurses and trained carers try and improve the quality of life for those who have chosen to live at the home. The approach is not one routine fits all, but rather a more personal care plan that makes allowances for the individuals' needs and concerns. The residents are at the centre of the home helping to create the Chef's menu's and choosing the activities programme. Everyone at Hill House wants the residents to be well cared for, happy and enjoy living at Hill House.

All the staff at Hill House Nursing and Dementia Home are very caring and go that extra step to make sure Dad is happy and safe. The whole environment of the home is friendly and the professionalism, particularly in relation to Dad's needs for his dementia, is outstanding. It is easy to talk to staff about Dad and his needs and they are very responsive to requests and ideas to make Dad even more comfortable. This means visits to Dad are a pleasure and focused on time with him rather than worrying about his daily care.

Management which is very much 'hands on' has fostered a very good team spirit amongst all of the staff. This applies to everyone involved, not just nursing and care but also those involved in all of the work here eg admin, maintenance, cleaning etc resulting in a very helpful and friendly environment for the residents. Finally and most importantly there is a very wide range of activities to provide stimulation for all living here.

As Power of Attorney for a friend of 102 - a resident at Hill House for the past 2 months - I have been impressed by the manner in which both management and staff communicate with residents. This is done with great kindness and dignity. There is a great effort to interact with residents by providing a programme of activities each day, and those that are able are taken out in the minibus to various venues, such as the local garden centre.
The home is spacious and attractively furnished, and the residents' accommodation well presented. I am kept advised of my friend's health issues and requirements. On entering the home, one is struck by the friendliness and dedication generated by the staff.
