Hill House Nursing and Dementia Home is a purpose built, 56-bedroom home, committed to the highest standards of care and service, within a friendly and happy family run home. The home is rated Outstanding in caring and Good Overall by CQC (April 2022).
The aim is to provide the highest level of care in a dignified and compassionate way, with the best facilities and equipment in a comfortable home with trained experienced staff. There is a full and diverse activities programme for the residents put on throughout the home, providing many opportunities to socialise, participate and pursue their own interests. Outside there are beautiful, landscaped gardens and courtyards planted with year-round colour which are accessed by level, flat paths.
Qualified nurses and trained carers try and improve the quality of life for those who have chosen to live at the home. The approach is not one routine fits all, but rather a more personal care plan that makes allowances for the individuals' needs and concerns. The residents are at the centre of the home helping to create the Chef's menu's and choosing the activities programme. Everyone at Hill House wants the residents to be well cared for, happy and enjoy living at Hill House.

My mum lived in this home as well, unfortunately only for 9 months, before she died in 2015. I put my mum in Hill House because of the care of my aunt receives I knew my mum would be well looked after Hill House. The staff are all fantastic, they care for the residents so very well.

Having been closely involved with 4 different care homes over the last 5 years with firstly my late mother and now my father, I can most definitely say that Hill House is far and away the best. It is always full, with a waiting list, and no wonder. The best thing about Hill House is the positive and friendly ethos of every member of staff. The managers are always accessible and do not hide away in offices. This home does not employ any agency staff and that makes a real difference. A small example, the cook took the trouble to come and talk to Dad and find out what food he liked, and assure him that if there was something on the menu didn't like, an alternative would always be provided. Communication with managers and staff has been excellent and every resident has a named nurse so everybody knows who to contact if there is a query.
I honestly can't think of anything negative to say about Hill House, they actually achieve what probably many care homes set out to, but fail to.

My aunt was resident at Hill House Nursing and Dementia Home for 3 and a half years until she passed aways on 28th January 2017. Before coming here, she went to another care home owned by the same group. Throughout she received the very highest standard of care and compassion, consistently delivered with dignity. Hill House Nursing and Dementia Home were very good at keeping me informed of my aunt's health and any concerns and regular review meetings were held. Suffice to say, her family knew she was in safe hands and we never had any cause for concern. I would not hesitate to recommend this home.

A testament to their attitudes was how upset the staff were when mum passed away. She was almost family to them. She was so fortunate to spend her final years in such a caring home.

My wife has been a resident at Hill House Nursing and Dementia Home for approximately two years. I cannot emphasise too strongly how well she is cared for in a warm, friendly and clean environment. Care is provided by mainly Nepalese young ladies who speak excellent English and are fully aware of the needs of the residents. Clinical care is provided by fully qualified nurses along with visiting general practitioners supported by visiting optician, physiotherapist, dentist and chiropodist. Two ladies produce regular entertainment in, and outside, at places of interest. Excellent food is provided by an onsite kitchen, the menu varies depending on the individual needs of the residents. I am grateful to the staff for providing excellent care.

The nice thing is Dad and our family know all the nurses and carers, this is because the home does not use agency staff which makes a huge difference and gives everyone peace of mind.
My aunt is at Hill House she didn't want to go she moved in almost a year ago. I know immediately it was the home for her they were so welcoming it felt like home from home. She has improved since being there she hardly walked and didn't have anything to talk about. Now with the hard work from the...
The ladies and gentlemen who work at Hill House are some if the kindest and caring people I have ever met.
My friend has lived at Hill House for just over 2 years now, during this time he has been looked after very well. I always feel the staff really care and my friend enjoys the food and activities. It is lovely seeing him so happy and well cared for.

From the first time my mother attended the day centre, to the eventual permanent move into the residential sector for dementia sufferers, she was treated with care, dignity and exceptional kindness until the say she succumbed to the illness.

For the first time in many years we were able to relax knowing mum was in good hands.

An excellent purpose built home, extremely well planned and equipped. I particularly liked that the reception and management offices are effectively integrated with the residents' lounge and not hidden away. The residents' rooms are of a generous size and receive plenty of natural light. The food...
However, the real strength of Hill House is its staffing team. Management, nursing, care and administrative staff work very well together both as a coordinated team and individually with the residents. They are totally committed to caring for their residents. My father quickly settled in, and soon felt very much at home and really well looked after throughout his stay. Both he and we as his family felt reassured by all that we saw, as well as by the regular consultation and updates provided. I too felt really well supported by the team.

I am Alison Lee the Proprietor of Woodlands & Hill Brow Ltd. I am a nurse with a degree in Nursing and a Diploma in Elderly Care. I left the NHS where I was Ward Manager of an elderly care unit at the Royal Free Hospital when I assumed control of Woodlands & Hill Brow Ltd following my mother's retirement in 1998.
I am immensely proud of the standards of care we achieve and the family ethos and feel which runs through the heart of our homes.

My role is incredibly rewarding. I am part of a massive life changing decision that is incredibly personal and needs to be made with confidence. I think of myself as a guide for families and individuals during this new chapter of their life.
I help support with any questions and concerns but what I love most is every day I get to meet new people, hear their life stories and build great relationships with them and their families. Once they have moved in it is a joy to watch our residents thrive and enjoy life, loved ones too.

I have worked in the health and social care sector for the last 13 years. Every role has been in and around training and development. Being able to develop our staff to deliver even greater care and service to our residents is something I take great pride in. Woodlands & Hill Brow is a family-run business, and this is one of the main reasons I wanted to move here, away from more corporate roles.

I'm Steve, and I have the privilege of working as a Chef at Farnham Mill. It brings me immense joy to be part of a company that truly cares for its employees and fosters a supportive atmosphere. The management team is exceptional, always putting the well-being of both the residents and staff at the forefront.
One of the most rewarding aspects of my role is preparing meals for our residents. I make it a point to engage with each person individually, learning about their favourite foods and drinks. Their happiness is my priority, creating wholesome, delicious, and nutritious meals that they genuinely enjoy.
In addition to my kitchen duties, I also manage the chefs' table and cooking club at both Farnham Mill and Hill House. It’s my passion to encourage our residents to explore their culinary skills and creativity, ensuring that we keep that spirit alive together.
