The team at Moorlands Lodge offers a warm welcome to all. Moorlands Lodge is a care home like no other in the area. The home is purpose built and offers exceptional accommodation, which is affordable but of a very high standard. The home provides residential, nursing, respite and dementia care.

The home happily accommodates couples and companions who wish to remain together as they continue their care journey and make new memories side by side.

A one bedroom suite offers a bedroom and separate lounge and kitchen with a full en-suite wet room and is unique as it offers double the space of most care homes and is ideal for those wanting extra room or couples who want to stay together. The home also features studio suites for those who prefer something more cosy. Rooms come unfurnished allowing residents to bring those special pieces of their home with them, something they find helps the settling in process significantly and truly makes Moorlands Lodge feel like home.

Moorlands Lodge offers a fully licensed outstanding restaurant, the menu being dictated by current residents, and an in house café for residents and visitors to enjoy afternoon tea and home made cakes. The home also has a large activities team who provide trips out, visiting speakers, one to one sessions and activities which are again chosen by the resident committee.

Residents range from those who are relatively independent and still drive, to those who require respite, full nursing, dementia or end of life care and the team pride themselves on providing discreet support in a place which is not institutional but as much like home as they can make it. Dignity, encouraging independence and involving family and friends are part of the fabric of Moorlands Lodge and they hope that these values are echoed in the recommendations and testimonials received.

My dad has now lived at Moorlands Lodge Care Home since 2020. I live locally so visit often.
Dad is 93, fairly independent and able to live a good quality of life with a diagnosis of Alzheimer's two years ago. He is respected and encouraged to be independent whilst having help when needed. Dad enjoys
the restaurant, the activities and the beautiful environment. He has many social interactions each day.
I love visiting Moorlands. Reception is welcoming, the nurses, carers and activity team know me and my dad as do the general manager and heads of department - a stable, strong and experienced team who are on it. Any concerns are dealt in a timely and exemplary manner (not that there have been many). Communication and engagement with families are excellent.
Culture is the product of values and behaviour. Moorlands is a warm, caring place but also outstanding in its professionalism. For me, I know that, on good days and bad, Dad lives where the staff see him as a person not just a resident.

My mother has lived in Moorlands for several months now and is very happy she did. Whilst moving into a care home is never nice for anyone, Moorlands made the transition very smooth, assisting in every way they could and helping with personalising the apartment. All the staff are very friendly, and
there is a range of activities, and she is well-fed!

From the time, or even before, my mother and I decided it was time for her to move from living alone, Moorlands Lodge Care Home - Avery Collection and the staff overseeing her move, were excellent. They visited her in her own home, we had several visits to her intended rooms, and generally, they assisted
in any way I needed to make her move as seamless as possible. Everyone at Moorlands helped both of us settle, it was very much a two-way street. My mother, who has onset dementia, struggled with a few minor health issues that were addressed promptly, allowing her to settle and find her way through such a confusing period for her. The various heads of department were open to me meeting regularly and talked me through any concerns and issues that I had as my mother settled. We are both 6 months into her move and I am delighted that she has now settled and is taking part more and more with social activities within Moorlands. She is busy most days and is always telling me when I visit how content she is now.

Moorlands Lodge has been an exceptional experience.
We had to move my godmother after disastrous respite care elsewhere, and prior to that, living with us with support for three years. The management literally worked so hard to come to our rescue to provide a calm, peaceful, kind environment for her
to heal. Their care and compassion shine through, and I am so relieved that my daughter found them; just wish we had done so earlier! The staff are wonderful and have the biggest hearts; their professionalism is exemplary.
The care of us as a family to has been simply warm and wonderful.
My godmother improved almost immediately, and at 92, feels safe and well cared for. The gorgeous surroundings and friendly nature of Moorlands Lodge have encouraged others to visit her often. The use of the Bistro is so helpful and enables people to pop in when driving past. She has plenty of visitors, all of whom are pleasantly surprised by how convivial and kind the atmosphere is at Moorlands Lodge.

My father is very content in Moorlands Lodge, which is very reassuring for my sister and I. Everything is excellent, his apartment, the restaurant, bistro, lounge and communal areas. The food is very good, but most importantly of all, he receives the very best care from attentive, cheerful and encouraging
carers. There are many activities throughout the day and week, and everyone involved in running Moorlands Lodge is always very pleasant and positive.

Everyone at Moorlands made my 93-year-old mum feel so welcome during her respite stay, so much so that by the time I had got her home, she wanted to go back. Three weeks later, she is settling into Moorlands as a new resident, and the whole team, from sales to reception, one of the nursing team and
the care team have made her welcome. They are patient, thoughtful, kind and happy to help with anything, for both Mum and us, as her family. Thank you!

I am a friend of a resident who moved to Moorlands Lodge at the end of 2021 and visits them regularly. I have been very impressed with the home so far - it has a lovely, warm, welcoming atmosphere with lots of staff and residents around throughout the day. I’m very pleased with the care my dad receives at his care home, and all the staff have my dad’s best interest at heart.
I have had dealings with the senior management at the care home, and again, very pleased with the care they and their team provide for my dad and the very quick response I get if

In the relatively short time, I was at Moorlands, my experience was of a very well run established with extremely cheerful and caring staff. The activities staff worked tirelessly to find entertainment for everyone, including outings, under the very difficult circumstances of the Covid restrictions.
I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a happy and caring environment.

As a full-time carer and needing to take some breaks, I could not imagine anywhere better for my client to have respite care. A wonderful, warm and friendly place and beautiful rooms. My mother moved to Moorlands last August and has settled very happily into her new life there. She enjoys the many activities, tests her memory with the quiz evenings, maintains her mobility with the daily exercise class, keeps up her art skills, loves the dance sessions and plenty of enjoyable outings.
The staff go to a lot of trouble to make sure residents have opportunities to stay active and engaged and celebrate/mark specific events. My mother has plenty to tell me whenever I visit. All the various teams at Moorlands are a pleasure to deal with; they care very much about the residents and do all they can to make life easy and enjoyable, and enable residents to choose, how they depend on their day. By all accounts, the food at Moorlands is very good, healthy and varied, and mealtimes provide plenty of opportunities to socialise and make new friends. The facilities are lovely, well maintained, and the general ambience very welcoming.

    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 106 registered maximum number of service users is 21.2, which has been reached with 22 Positive reviews.   3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

A comprehensive activities schedule, as well as trips out are provided at Moorlands Lodge and I am passionate about offering residents a full and varied programme seven days a week, including evenings, to appeal to all needs and abilities.
