The team at Moorlands Lodge offers a warm welcome to all. Moorlands Lodge is a care home like no other in the area. The home is purpose built and offers exceptional accommodation, which is affordable but of a very high standard. The home provides residential, nursing, respite and dementia care.

The home happily accommodates couples and companions who wish to remain together as they continue their care journey and make new memories side by side.

A one bedroom suite offers a bedroom and separate lounge and kitchen with a full en-suite wet room and is unique as it offers double the space of most care homes and is ideal for those wanting extra room or couples who want to stay together. The home also features studio suites for those who prefer something more cosy. Rooms come unfurnished allowing residents to bring those special pieces of their home with them, something they find helps the settling in process significantly and truly makes Moorlands Lodge feel like home.

Moorlands Lodge offers a fully licensed outstanding restaurant, the menu being dictated by current residents, and an in house café for residents and visitors to enjoy afternoon tea and home made cakes. The home also has a large activities team who provide trips out, visiting speakers, one to one sessions and activities which are again chosen by the resident committee.

Residents range from those who are relatively independent and still drive, to those who require respite, full nursing, dementia or end of life care and the team pride themselves on providing discreet support in a place which is not institutional but as much like home as they can make it. My mother moved to Moorlands Lodge just before Christmas 2021. She has a very pleasant 2-room apartment with a view over the garden at the back. I had visited quite a number of care homes in the area before we chose Moorlands Lodge, and the resident rooms are significantly nicer than any others that
I saw. The public areas are also very attractive, and the general ambience is warm and welcoming. Another factor in my choice was the wide range of activities that are available at Moorlands. There seems to be live music every day and frequent excursions, even it seems in winter. For example, yesterday my mother joined a group for a visit to the museum, which she thoroughly enjoyed. The staff are without exception friendly, helpful and professional. They show genuine interest in the residents and their well-being and will often pop in for a chat. The culture is very caring. The food seems to be of a high standard too. I am absolutely delighted that I chose Moorlands for my mother.

My mother-in-law has been a resident at Signature Moorlands Lodge for a few years now. She settled in quickly and now has a good circle of friends. She very much enjoys the entertainers who come in to sing. During Covid, the staff have gone above and beyond to ensure that life for the residents remains
as close to normal as possible and that the home has remained open to visitors when Government guidelines permit. The care staff often form close bonds with the residents, which the residents very much appreciate, especially in times when family members can't visit. The home is a friendly, welcoming place with comfortable communal areas and spacious resident's rooms. During Covid, every effort has been made to ensure the residents are vaccinated and safe with regular testing undertaken. I would definitely recommend Moorlands Lodge to any family considering placing a family member into a caring environment.

Visit my aunt on a regular basis, although this has been much less frequent over the last 2-years due to the pandemic.
The care she receives is exceptional, and the surroundings of the home make it a pleasure to visit.

My mother was admitted to the Moorlands Lodge in July 2020 right during the Covid crisis suffering from severe Dementia. My mother started to show signs in her late 50s and was officially diagnosed in her mid-60s, so desperately young. She was extremely well looked after in the Dementia area, and all
the nurses were both warm and affectionate to her. Of course, took my mum a while to settle as had been at home with my father, just the two of them for so long. They encouraged Mum to leave her room, sit in the gorgeous sitting room, and she particularly enjoyed the activities, which took place, lots of creative classes. This is one area I really think Moorlands Lodge does well, the activities, whether it be on the creative side or the fabulous live music sessions for the residents. The food also was good at Moorlands Lodge, and Mum did try and eat, but given her condition, never an easy task, as her interest in food and drink, even her favourite cup of tea, was a challenge.

My father has settled into life at Moorlands so happily and quickly. The whole process was seamless and handled with such care by the Moorlands staff. After a couple of visits to check he would be happy to move, my father had a trial period of 10 days. He was so happy with his move that he didn't want
to leave and go back to his old apartment and so stayed on.
Moorlands assisted with the move. Even in this period of Covid they were accommodating and helpful at every turn. They were prepared at all stages and the staff could not be lovelier. My father has been bowled over by the food, facilities and all the activities that are available for him every day. All our fears that he may not be happy or adjust to his new surroundings have vanished and actually the quality of time we spend with him is relaxed and happy leaving us feeling the same. We would have no hesitation in recommending Moorlands Lodge.

My mum initially went to stay at Moorlands Lodge for 2 weeks 'respite care', after an extended stay in hospital. She was suffering from cognitive impairment as a result of infection, together with badly swollen and ulcerated legs, with limited mobility.
She ended up staying 6 weeks. Her mental health
quickly recovered but the legs were a continuing problem, needing constant attention from the Moorlands nursing team and also the visiting GP until she became more mobile.
We can't recommend Moorlands highly enough. The level of professional care and support - and friendliness - from all the staff was exemplary. The room was clean, bright and very comfortable and although Mum was unable to take advantage of many of the activities, the programme is extensive and varied.
Her appetite wasn't great, but she recognises that the variety of food available every day was outstanding, and anything she wanted 'off-menu was provided.
She would happily return to Moorlands at any time!

My father had been living with myself and my family, and on selling our house and us going abroad, I wanted him to go to a place where he would be cared for but allow him his independence. To be honest, I dreaded the search! I found Moorlands Lodge online and made an appointment to view it. I could
not have wished for more! The staff are friendly and talk to the residents as they would me! The rooms are spacious with balconies they could sit out on, there are activities every day that they can take part in, not to mention good food and plenty of alcohol! The other thing was that my father had a small dog, which at their discretion, they allowed him to bring. In short, if you’re looking for a place where your family member can thrive and not just exist, this is it! I can not recommend it highly enough.

I have been visiting my friend at Moorlands Lodge for the last two years and have nothing but positive things to say. The staff ar so friendly, and nothing is is ever too much trouble. On top of this, the care, the food and apartments are all of a fantastic standard, and the residents who live at Moorlands
Lodge all seem very happy and sociable. I plan to join the community as a resident at some point in the near future based on my experience so far.

My mother moved into Moorlands in late July 2020 - not an ideal time with the Covid restrictions. This move was necessary for her, and I am pleased to say we chose an excellent new home. The staff are fantastic as are the facilities. Despite the Covid limitations, there have been a good set of activities
and also personal care opportunities. The team has been especially helpful with visits immediately after her move and when my brother visited for the first time in 6 months.

The facility was very helpful in admitting my Mother after a brief stay in hospital, and the staff were kind and efficient. Due to current pandemic restrictions, we were only able to visit in the designated gazebo facility, so the family could not see her in her own accommodation. My mother (who is
half-blind) found it difficult to settle as she didn't know anyone. As someone who is intensely religious, it was sad that it was 10 days before we could arrange for a priest to call. I know of other care facilities who rank clergy on a par with medical visitors (body and soul both need help) and the visits are not counted as family ones. Overall, my mother, my sister and I have been very satisfied with her experience as a Moorlands resident for over five years. The atmosphere is very pleasant and friendly, and it always feels welcoming to me as a visitor. One of the most positive aspects is the number and variety of activities. The
staff in the Activities Team are enthusiastic, caring and accommodating of all the residents' requirements. The variety of trips and in-house activities is much appreciated. Having a strong Christian faith, she appreciates being able to go to the Thursday morning service at St Luke's church in Grayshott fortnightly, and the Fellowship Group that meets on the alternate week. She enjoys her food, which is predominantly of a very good quality, and the atmosphere between the staff and the residents in the dining room is very pleasant. She has also found the maintenance staff very helpful and efficient whenever something of that nature is required.

Difficult to do this as my mother joined you at the start of the Covid19 pandemic.
This means we have only had contact with mum via FaceTime and now more recently one visit a week. We have not really been able to get a first-hand feel of the home.
Having said that my mother has settled in well despite
the difficult time and she is giving us the feeling that she is settled and happy. The credit for this is entirely due to the care of the staff at Moorlands Lodge.

My parents checked into Moorlands for two weeks respite care whilst some bathroom renovation work was completed on their house. My dad is 86 and in reasonable health; my mum is 83 and suffers with Dementia (Stage 4: Moderate Cognitive Decline).
The accommodation and food was excellent - this for them
was the highlight. They did participate in some of the activities but given my mum's anxiety levels, it wasn't a major success.
The staff overall were excellent too. My only comment was I would have liked to receive feedback on how they were settling in - perhaps via email, as tracking staff down during visits can be problematic due to limited time and also their availability.

Mum and Dad stayed at Moorlands Lodge Hindhead for a respite period of 2 weeks.
All the staff treated them with kindness and respect. A very detailed assessment took place before they stayed to ensure medications, likes and dislikes, favourite things too, etc. were known and that mum and dad settled
in quickly.
Staff were always on hand to assist but never intrude, giving mum and dad their privacy and independence but the family assurance they were being looked after very well and were happy.
Every day the activities team met mum and dad personally to see if there was anything they might be interested in taking part in; singing, quizzes, art, outings, etc. The food choice was excellent, they have never eaten so well, cooked breakfast, lunch and dinner!
Moorlands Lodge is managed very well with a quiet, professionalism, never pushy or intrusive. Family were always made welcome and encouraged to visit.
We would not hesitate to recommend Moorlands Lodge.

  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

A comprehensive activities schedule, as well as trips out are provided at Moorlands Lodge and I am passionate about offering residents a full and varied programme seven days a week, including evenings, to appeal to all needs and abilities.
