After a short stay in hospital, mother moved into Springfield House some 14 months ago having said many times she would hate to live in ‘one of those places’. My concerns, however, were very quickly put to rest as she discovered she really liked being there. She continually told me how happy she was,
how good the food was and most of all how lovely the staff were – ‘they will do anything they can to help and even suggest things’.
I have been delighted with everything, especially the brilliant staff. I was kept well informed about my mother’s wellbeing and felt totally confident that she was in very good caring hands. This has given me great peace of mind.
Unfortunately, her condition has deteriorated and she now needs nursing care, which is not provided at Springfield House, and so she has had to move elsewhere. There is absolutely no doubt that if Springfield did have a nursing facility, my mother would still be there.
Thank you to everyone for being so caring and doing so much.

Just had annual fee review of 5.5%. This can only be justified in terms of profit rather than care delivery. 5.5% represents a level far in excess of inflation or pension rises in this period. Improvements in infrastructure and service delivery do not warrant such a disproportionate increase and the
letter of explanation frankly insults one's intelligence. It is ridiculous to state investment has been made in the nurse call system to reduce anxiety caused by the noise while at the same time creating far greater levels of anxiety to residents worried about how they can afford such draconian increases in their care costs. I am disgusted that vulnerable people can be treated in such a way and at such short notice. These are not the actions of a 'kind' service.

My wife and I came to this home in February 2014. My wife was suffering from short term memory loss. I came due to my very poor mobility. As you will take note from the ticked boxes, we found everything here to be perfect for our needs.
My wife was always given loving care by dedicated staff and when
she sadly died of cancer last year, she was given loving end of life care in the home.
I have received great support from staff who became good friends from the start. My family feel that the home has provided their parents with perfect care and a safe environment in their final years. I can only endorse their view.

Mum has been a resident for 3 1/2 years. The building is very pleasant with a little enclosed garden, with seating. The cafe is well used for residents and guests and they cater for family Sunday lunches which are of a high standard and good value. All staff are well qualified in their particular field
of work, all are caring and friendly. Room cleaning and laundry always high standard. Mum is also registered blind and feels unable to join in many activities and trips out, due to needing one to one wheelchair issue. There are worrying occasions at times when both carers on floor 1 are occupied/unavailable/simply not there and no one answers the 'help' buzzers.

My husband has been resident at Springfield House for five years. His condition deteriorating over this period of time, often changing on a daily basis recently. The care he is given is second to none and the initiative and concern shown by the senior carers is remarkable under difficult circumstances,
sometimes, on level 2, which is always busy.
Everyone who works at Springfield House shows the utmost kindness and friendly and cheerful, reassuring and knowledgeable at all times. I cannot thank the care staff enough. The building and the facilities are kept in good order and cleaned to a high standard, although the garden seems neglected.

The residential home is well looked after in terms of in terms of cleanliness and maintenance. However, there is very little colour in the bedrooms and upstairs lounge which makes it not very homely.


The staff are friendly and caring however as many of the residents have poor vision, it is important

to address the person by their name and also tell the resident their own name when speaking.

The home endeavours to offer a varied wellbeing programme to our residents and suggestions are always welcome for any new ideas.
Our Home offers a range of different styled rooms from a standard room to a premium suite, garden suite and premium rooms, all of the bedrooms can be personalised to suit the residents who reside in them with any coloured accessories and items from home to make it more homely. We have the lounge areas decorated in a neutral colour to suit all tastes.
We are creating a one-page profile, which will be kept in the bedroom to ensure that staff are aware of how each resident likes to be greeted.

The standard of care is good, however, it is expensive and the recent price increases following new ownership have us reconsidering our options.

My father who has dementia was moved to Springfield House after breaking his hip. The overall level of care is excellent, with very high-quality staff. I was very worried that my father would be unhappy, however, he has been very happy since moving to Springfield House. He has a very nice room and
the care staff are very attentive to his needs. They also take the time to give feedback during my visits.


I would certainly recommend Springfield House to anyone with relations who need care.

When I first organised my mum's respite in Springfield House I was apprehensive because mum had never been away from us her family. This summarises my views now which is that mum has a new family when she stays at Springfield House. I am happy to relax when on holiday in the knowledge my mum is so happy

Lovely home, more like a hotel, very good staff, Mum gets used to the same staff as she can't see very well, she is looked after by all the staff.
