The Westbourne is a first-class care home. My brother has recently gone into this wonderful care home and everyone has been so very welcoming and kind to him. I would recommend it to anyone. My brother is extremely contented and I am happy that he is well looked after in every way.

Westbourne was the only residential care home catering for those with dementia, which would take my father during the lockdown. At the time, it did not have a good reputation locally. Since the then manager has been replaced, the home has been transformed. Staff are particularly caring, systems and processes have been overhauled, and there is greater stimulation for the residents; also a good level of communication between the resident's families and the home. The garden and various rooms have had a makeover too, but more importantly, I now have peace of mind regarding my father's welfare.

My husband seems very content living at the Westbourne. I am satisfied with his care and how he is treated, some staff seem to have a special affection towards him, this eases my mind.

I have always found the staff to be helpful and courteous. I have found, since the last year, the staff members are now more consistent and are the same, whereas before, staff appeared to change from week to week. This seems to have been a vast improvement in standards, overall.

My partner seems very happy now and as I see the difference from two years ago, I am also pleased. During lockdown, he was looked after very well and I'm pleased to see they have activities people we asked for at our meetings. This helped everyone to do their own job so carers can care for residents.

Our mum moved into The Westbourne Care Home recently. The staff have gone out of their way to make mum and ourselves, as her family, feel welcome. The touches of birthday banners and meeting in the lovely garden have given us a huge amount of confidence in the home, having had a very difficult and distressing experience of a 'care' home in the past. Thank you all very much.

My only complaint is that my wife's glasses have been missing for approximately six months, despite me constantly asking for them to be found.

Reply from Jackie Hirst, Marketing at The Westbourne Care Home

We are very happy to report back that this ladie's glasses have since been found and returned.

I was made very welcome. 1st time when I had to have a test prior to visiting my sister. Made very welcome and test provided and administered efficiently. Then after the negative result was provided with the correct PPE. Directed to my sister's room and enjoyed my visit. Everything appropriately in place.

My father was genuinely treated kindly and with dignity and his safety and wellbeing were provided for his preferences, in terms of what to have on the TV or radio and whether to eat in the dining room or not were genuinely catered to. The regular and full-time staff got to know and care for him but there did seem to be a number of part-time or non-permanent staff to who weren't as familiar with his needs and provided a lower standard of care. The home manager was fantastic and very compassionate.

The staff at The Westbourne are a credit to the nursing profession, after much searching we found this home for my grandad. He was cared for with compassion, dignity and respect. The home is well led and supports older people to be comfortable during their last years. Sadly my grandad passed away after a short period of time but as home wasn’t an option, The Westbourne became his home and the staff treated him like family. I am thankful to the staff that have supported my grandad to die with dignity and respect.

My friend came to Westbourne a year ago. In that time i witnessed how she was treated as 'family' with professional care, fondness, sensitivity. She was embraced into a new family. I have such respect for all at Westbourne. I knew for a few days that my friend would be leaving us but I knew how comfortable all the staff made her. She was treated with tenderness. I felt content to leave each time knowing that she was entrusted into Westbourne's care. Her passing was peaceful and surrounded with love. My grateful thanks to all, and thank you from my friend.

My sister and I scoured 20 of the most highly recommended care homes in the Cheshire East area and the Westbourne stood out a clear mile. Over the years, my mother has had the highest level of care. Over the years my mother has had the highest level of care. Staff go above and beyond their job and make Mum and our family feel welcome and cared for. I highly recommend anyone to visit the Westbourne and see for themselves the quality of care they deliver
