The Westbourne Care Home offers luxurious, five star accommodation in the affluent and engaging Holmes Chapel. Despite the idyllic location, the excitement and bustle of the city is far closer than you might think. Holmes Chapel is only 25 miles from Manchester and 20 miles from stoke-on-Trent, and superb transport links mean the two cities are merely minutes away by road or rail. The home provides nursing, dementia nursing, day care, residential and personal care and respite care.

The Westbourne is registered to provide care for up to 50 elderly residents in two styles of en-suite bedrooms over three floors. Each room is decorated to five star standard with luxurious fixtures and fittings throughout. All rooms come with flat screen TV, telephone point, stylish and contemporary furnishings and are equipped with all the latest safety features. Choose from a standard or superior room.

I was made very welcome. 1st time when I had to have a test prior to visiting my sister. Made very welcome and test provided and administered efficiently. Then after the negative result was provided with the correct PPE. Directed to my sister's room and enjoyed my visit. Everything appropriately in

My father was genuinely treated kindly and with dignity and his safety and wellbeing were provided for his preferences, in terms of what to have on the TV or radio and whether to eat in the dining room or not were genuinely catered to. The regular and full-time staff got to know and care for him but
there did seem to be a number of part-time or non-permanent staff to who weren't as familiar with his needs and provided a lower standard of care. The home manager was fantastic and very compassionate.

The staff at The Westbourne are a credit to the nursing profession, after much searching we found this home for my grandad. He was cared for with compassion, dignity and respect. The home is well led and supports older people to be comfortable during their last years. Sadly my grandad passed away after
a short period of time but as home wasn’t an option, The Westbourne became his home and the staff treated him like family. I am thankful to the staff that have supported my grandad to die with dignity and respect.

The staff are all extremely competent and professional and well led by the manager of the home. My father-in-law was treated with dignity, respect and compassion and communication between the Westbourne and the family was excellent. The whole family are so grateful for the care shown to our loved one.

My friend came to Westbourne a year ago. In that time i witnessed how she was treated as 'family' with professional care, fondness, sensitivity. She was embraced into a new family. I have such respect for all at Westbourne. I knew for a few days that my friend would be leaving us but I knew how comfortable
all the staff made her. She was treated with tenderness. I felt content to leave each time knowing that she was entrusted into Westbourne's care. Her passing was peaceful and surrounded with love. My grateful thanks to all, and thank you from my friend.

When my mother was recently diagnosed with vascular dementia I found the manager and staff at The Westbourne to be extremely helpful and caring. I find their positive 'can do' attitude to be very uplifting and their cheery, friendly greeting when I visit, is much appreciated. They allow my mother to
be as independent as is feasible but are always there to assist when necessary.

My Father was a resident at The Westbourne for six months. He had numerous health issues along with dementia. Despite some challenging behaviour as a result of his dementia, the staff at the home always treated him with professionalism, compassion and patience. They always kept the family informed of
any changes to Dad's care, we felt confident that he was being cared for with kindness and respect. I would wholeheartedly recommend this home to any family who are making this difficult decision.

At the time of visit, I was met by nursing staff who gave me an update on mum's condition and how she had been up to my arrival.
Observed excellent hands-on care and good staff to client ratio.

My dad had to go into respite suddenly and I was therefore very apprehensive about finding the right care for him but my fears evaporated once he was settled in at The Westbourne Care Home.
All the team were lovely and caring with my dad and had all the necessary controls and checks in place in relation
to medication etc.
The equipment in the home (beds, bathrooms in particular) was suited to my father's needs and they could not have done any more to respect and care for my dad.

Hello, my name is Kelly Barlow, I am the Registered Manager of The Westbourne, I joined the Westbourne in November 2021 as a Deputy Manager, progressing to the Home Manager in February 2024.


I have been in the care and nursing industry for several years, gaining knowledge and experience that I have been able to share with those I work alongside. In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family and walking my two dogs.
