The Westbourne Care Home offers luxurious, five star accommodation in the affluent and engaging Holmes Chapel. Despite the idyllic location, the excitement and bustle of the city is far closer than you might think. Holmes Chapel is only 25 miles from Manchester and 20 miles from stoke-on-Trent, and superb transport links mean the two cities are merely minutes away by road or rail. The home provides nursing, dementia nursing, day care, residential and personal care and respite care.

The Westbourne is registered to provide care for up to 50 elderly residents in two styles of en-suite bedrooms over three floors. Each room is decorated to five star standard with luxurious fixtures and fittings throughout. All rooms come with flat screen TV, telephone point, stylish and contemporary furnishings and are equipped with all the latest safety features. Choose from a standard or superior room.

This being my first time visiting a relative or friend in any care establishment, I was overwhelmed by the amount of care being offered to the residents. All the staff seem to take great care and time to communicate to help the residents in their needs. Every time I've visited there was always a warm
welcome whether it was from the carers or even the management.

Couldn't be happier with the Westbourne. The staff and home are excellent, all very friendly and caring.
We looked around a lot of homes and this was the only one that actually felt like a real home rather than 'a home'.

Mum is happy here, well looked after by all the staff and all very good, look after her day to day needs well, (washing, showering, dressing, personal care is and well monitored. Quality of meals good. Activities are ok/good. I think more stimulation would be good to help her.

My husband has just been admitted for assessment and has been here for over 5 weeks. He is blind and has Parkinson's dementia plus other physical problems.


I and the family have been welcomed with cheerfulness and kindness. His problems have been immediately addressed and all issues have been discussed.

We have been so happy with the care from all the staff here in Westbourne Holmes Chapel. My friend has every help and encouragement while he has been a resident here.The staff are wonderful, patient and kind. Nothing is too much trouble. He has enjoyed his food and was always clean and tidy and the
manager was always available if we had any questions. I would not hesitate to recommend this home to anyone.

My father has been in other care homes recently and not settled or been admitted to hospital swiftly after arriving, however, he has settled quickly at Westbourne and we have been more than happy with the care he's received/continues to receive. The staff are lovely, caring, knowledgeable and really

Over the past 2 1/2 years mum has had fantastic care through every stage of the dementia, from the challenging wondering times preventing falls to end of life care where mum was looked after right to the end with a senior sitting with her all night as mum passed away. I cannot thank all the staff enough.

Staff are excellent, made my uncle very happy. Couldn't have done enough for him. Food very good, his room is very clean. Nursing staff are exceptional. Manager very helpful at all times and acted with professionalism, nothing is too much trouble. I would recommend this nursing home to anyone.

My mother spent 18 months in the Westbourne and I was very impressed with the care she received. All the staff were friendly, hard working and caring. For me the important thing was having a core set of staff that got to know mum and care for her. Everyone from the care home manager to the nurses and
assistants were professional and approachable. Sadly, mum passed away recently but the home helped the family deal with the painful experience of her passing and I won't forget the kind words and hugs from all the staff.

My mother has cancer, she has been well cared for and her condition has improved considerably whilst being cared for.
The managers have been exceptionally helpful in enabling me to take mother out and in the difficult process of moving her to a home closer to me.

My aunt has just spent the last few weeks of her life at this wonderful home. I cannot rate it highly enough. The staff are so kind, compassionate and caring and did their absolute best for my dear aunt. The home is welcoming, warm and clean but it is the staff who make it. They are knowledgeable and
professional but above all, they really care and they made sure my aunt had a peaceful, dignified, comfortable end while showing us great support.

My brother has been at The Westbourn for just over a year, (he has Dementia) he talks about the staff, tells me they are very kind, he calls them good girls.
He gets very stubborn at times and it must be difficult but I know he is well looked after. I visit three times a week, stying two hours each
time. I don't worry anymore and I know he has settled and is happy.

Hello, my name is Kelly Barlow, I am the Registered Manager of The Westbourne, I joined the Westbourne in November 2021 as a Deputy Manager, progressing to the Home Manager in February 2024.


I have been in the care and nursing industry for several years, gaining knowledge and experience that I have been able to share with those I work alongside. In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family and walking my two dogs.
