The Westbourne Care Home

My mother spent 18 months in the Westbourne and I was very impressed with the care she received. All the staff were friendly, hard working and caring. For me the important thing was having a core set of staff that got to know mum and care for her. Everyone from the care home manager to the nurses and assistants were professional and approachable. Sadly, mum passed away recently but the home helped the family deal with the painful experience of her passing and I won't forget the kind words and hugs from all the staff.

My aunt has just spent the last few weeks of her life at this wonderful home. I cannot rate it highly enough. The staff are so kind, compassionate and caring and did their absolute best for my dear aunt. The home is welcoming, warm and clean but it is the staff who make it. They are knowledgeable and professional but above all, they really care and they made sure my aunt had a peaceful, dignified, comfortable end while showing us great support.

My relative was only in Westbourne for a few days, but the care and staff were excellent, and I know she was content at the near end of her life.

He gets very stubborn at times and it must be difficult but I know he is well looked after. I visit three times a week, stying two hours each time. I don't worry anymore and I know he has settled and is happy.

Sometimes the home seems a little understaffed.

Always a lovely warm welcome. Staff can not do enough to help. Management always there for a chat and open and honest.

My grandfather has been at The Westbourne for just over a year. The improvement in his condition since before he came is dramatic. I could not wish for a more conscientious management and staff team, who demonstrably put the best interests of residents at the centre of what they do.

My mother has taken to the care home after being in hospital for 5 weeks and we were very pleased with the care they gave her. She is in a flat and doing very nicely. She is also pleased that care they give her has worked. Thank you.

My father has only been at The Westbourne Care Home since the end of January to present. The Westbourne Care Home is of a high standard. The staff are helpful and friendly. Bedrooms are a high standard of decor.

Mum is very well looked after. The carers are very kind to her. The manager is very understanding, open and honest and always thoughtful.

Also would be nice to be offered a coffee when it's snack time. Happy to contribute to a jar of coffee. Maintenance man very kind to the residents :).
