All of the staff, nurses, front of house and those behind the scenes, cared for my mum like one of the family. They made her comfortable content and more importantly loved through an incredibly difficult and unpredictable year. They showed compassion and professionalism during Mum's final months. We
were fortunate enough to be with Mum until the end they cared for us, laughed with us and cried with us when it was time. We cannot thank them enough.

My mum lived at Westbury Court for 14-months and came to see it as her home. I will be forever grateful for all the love and compassion shown to her by all the staff. Mum always received the nest of care and she often commented on how staff 'went above and beyond' to give her the best care possible.
At the end of Mums life, staff were so caring and supportive, and even in these difficult 'covid' times, they ensured that we were able to be with Mum when she passed. I could see how much Mum was loved by all the staff, and it has given me great comfort now that she is no longer with us.
Reply from Kristen Fitzgerald, Marketing Assistant at Westbury CourtThank you, Lisa, for your feedback and for taking the time to share your experience at Westbury Court Care Home. We are so sorry to hear about your mum but pleased you felt your mum received great care and hope that her time at Westbury Court did see some friendships flourish, especially with the care team.

My mother came into Westbury Court and straight away made friends. She didn't realise how lonely she was at her own home. The staff are very helpful and caring about all the needs of mum's health etc. When mum was not feeling too good the staff kept me informed of how she was doing.

Westbury care home is a wonderful place. The staff are all so very lovely, and do an amazing job, going above and beyond. A real feel-good homely feeling as soon as you arrive through the door. I would like to say a special, thank you to the staff. My aunty is a resident there who I, unfortunately,
lost contact with. It is with great thanks to the staff that we are now back in contact.

It has been a difficult year with COVID but the entertainment team has kept us all in touch with our loved ones (Facebook) and have kept all residents entertained. My mum looks very happy. Some of the care team have been very good at communicating with us. It will be lovely to see my mum and all the
lovely staff that have taken care of her during this horrible time.

Since our mum has been at Westbury Court she has been treated with outstanding patience, care and love.
With Covid and not being able to be there as often or to even touch her the staff have been her family and we are so grateful.
It is such a difficult situation putting a loved one in to care but
we couldn't be happier and more grateful for having her living at Westbury Court!
Thank you, everyone!

Westbury Court is a wonderful place! My mum is so well looked after, the staff are so caring and kind. They always go above and beyond to make her life easier, and they have become like an extended family to Mum and us. Nothing is too much trouble for them. The activities are varied and interesting,
always something to do. The home is clean and welcoming. Mum enjoys the food provided and the company at mealtimes. It is reassuring to know she is being so well cared for.

Since Mum has been in Westbury Court she has been cared for with the utmost care. They were very welcoming and friendly. And since Mum's dementia has worsened her care is exceptional. So I would recommend your care home.

The care and compassion showed to my mum and us a family was gold standard. She was very anxious about going to a nursing home for rehabilitation following an amputation but the staff and all the standards were incredible. Even though this was during the pandemic the safety came first and was incredible
but the care of the family and residents was amazing.

My Father received such excellent care from all of the staff. He had dementia and the love and support he received was second to none. Care staff were kind, gentle and very understanding of his needs. He was very happy and contented and I would recommend this home for any elderly relative with dementia
or residential and nursing.

My father entered Westbury Court for end of life care. We found the home to be well furnished, clean and with friendly, professional staff (administration). The nursing staff were extremely knowledgeable and kept us informed of any change of condition. The staff team was professional and caring but
seemed to be very short in numbers. I feel the care home to be professional with a good, caring staff team.

My review relates to experience subsequent to changes made in September 2019. The atmosphere is good, warm and friendly, welcoming on entry. The staff are having concern for details such as whether jugs are being refilled and attention to details of care. Full marks to the activities facilities as usual.
Altogether I find it to be now a happy place. For those immobile, there is a need to ensure that necessary things are at reach.

Mum was made very welcome when she arrived at Westbury Court about 3 years ago, after a severe stroke, which had affected her mobility and left her wheelchair-bound. The staff are cheerful and caring, the activities plentiful and varied and I am treated like a part of the Westbury Court family. Mum

Current Review Score: 9.8 (9.845)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.845) out of 10 for Westbury Court is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 19 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 19 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.870 for Westbury Court is calculated as follows: ( (192 Excellents x 5) + (20 Goods x 4) + (4 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 216 Ratings = 4.87
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.975 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Westbury Court is based on 19 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.975
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 63 registered maximum number of service users is 12.6, which has been reached with 19 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
