Mum moved into residential care in May 2025. We were unhappy with the care she was receiving at the care home, so Willow Tree Lodge was recommended to us. We were fairly anxious about moving mum as she has dementia, but from the moment we met staff from Willow Tree Lodge, we knew that she was going
to be in safe hands and well cared for. She had a wonderful welcome and has settled in really well. The staff are amazing and there is a really homely, welcoming atmosphere. There is often something going on, chair exercise, singers etc. I would highly recommend Willow Tree Lodge and I'm so happy that we found this place after our previous bad experience!
Reply from Hannah Dear, Manager at Willow Tree LodgeThank you so much for taking the time to share your experience and for your kind words about Willow Tree Lodge. We know how daunting it can be to move a loved one, especially when they are living with dementia, and were truly honoured that you trusted us with your mums care.

Were delighted to hear that she received a warm welcome, has settled in well, and that you feel reassured she is safe and well cared for. Your feedback about our staff, homely atmosphere, and activities programme means a great deal to us, as creating a supportive, engaging, and welcoming environment is at the heart of everything we do.

Thank you again for your recommendation. Were so pleased that you found Willow Tree Lodge and that your experience with us has been such a positive one after a difficult start elsewhere.

I cannot praise Willow Tree Lodge and its staff enough - they really do go above and beyond to make such a lovely, caring, family home for all of its residents. As always, they all worked so hard to make Christmas 2025 special for all its residents. The support too for myself as the daughter of a resident
when I was going through a very difficult time with family illness, is just another example of the extent of their care. It was so comforting to know I had their full support and could leave Mum in their hands during this difficult time. I am so relieved I chose Willow Tree Lodge for my Mum. Thank you so much to all the staff at Willow Tree Lodge - you are all fantastic.
Reply from Hannah Dear, Manager at Willow Tree LodgeThank you so much for your incredibly kind and thoughtful review. Your words mean a great deal to everyone at Willow Tree Lodge.

Providing a warm, caring, and family-focused home for our residents, while also supporting their loved ones, is at the heart of everything we do.
Your appreciation of the team's efforts to make Christmas 2025 special will be shared with all our staff, who will be deeply touched by your feedback. Knowing that our care brought you comfort and reassurance during a challenging period is the greatest compliment we could receive.
Thank you once again for your trust and for taking the time to share your experience. We are very grateful for your kind words.

My mother-in-law had been living at Willow Tree Lodge for about 9 months but unfortunately deteriorated to 'end of life' care her last 5 days. I cannot praise all the staff enough! Their care and professionalism was exemplary. They all showed empathy and compassion in a difficult situation and nothing
was too much trouble. I unreservedly recommend Willow Tree Lodge as it's a lovely friendly care home for your loved one.

I'm a close friend of a resident at Willow Tree, and I'm consistently impressed by the warmth and quality of care provided. The careers are exceptional-kind, patient, and genuinely attentive. They always take time to reassure, support, and connect with residents in meaningful ways. The manager leads
with professionalism and heart, creating a positive atmosphere where staff feel supported and residents are truly prioritised. The activities are varied, engaging, and thoughtfully planned, giving residents plenty to enjoy each day. The cleanliness of the home is outstanding, with every space feeling fresh, well-kept, and welcoming. The food is another highlight-tasty, nutritious, and beautifully presented, and my friend regularly comments on how much they enjoy each meal. Above all, the atmosphere at Willow Tree Lodge is warm, friendly, and uplifting. It's clear that this is a place where people genuinely care. I couldn't be more grateful knowing my friend is in such safe hands

My mother has been resident at Willow Tree for over 12 months, throughout her residency every care has been taken to ensure that her health and wellbeing have been of a high standard. As a visitor there is always a warm and friendly welcome and all the staff are happy to help in any way that they can.
As a near relative it is very reassuring to know that my mother is safe and well cared for, myself and my 2 brothers are absolutely delighted with the service provided. A huge thanks to all the staff at Willow Tree.

The staff at Willow Tree Lodge have been absolutely amazing from the very first moment we met them. The change in my Mother-in-Law since moving in has been incredible, she is really happy, has made lots of new friends. The Carers are so attentive. The atmosphere is always happy and friendly. The food
is delicious. If you are in a position of having to move a loved one into a care facility I would absolutely recommend Willow Tree Lodge with no hesitation. I have never seen another care home like it!

After a decline at home following Covid, isolation and early dementia, my mum's health worsened in hospital in 2024. I visited several homes, but Willow Tree just felt right - warm, calm and welcoming. From day one, staff said, "This is her home, and it's a privilege to care for her." And they meant
it. Mum is a quiet, private lady, and the team include her gently, never overwhelming her. She's made great friends, chats with staff, and recently staff took Mum to Fareham to play table tennis and have coffee - table tennis she hadn't played since before Covid.

Food is excellent, with fresh choices and homemade cakes. Activities, trips to pubs and garden centres, and community links all add meaning to Mum's days. As someone who's worked in care, I know outstanding care when I see it - and Willow Tree delivers it. With 30 beds, it's homely yet professional. Mum is safe, happy, and thriving - and visiting her lifts my spirits too.

When the tough realisation dawned, that Mum needed to go into a care home, I was very worried about it, and rejected many homes before I finally viewed Willow Tree Lodge. I knew the instant I walked in that I had found the right home for Mum - the staff team were so friendly, warm and kind, and engaging
with the people they cared for and their families. The atmosphere so welcoming, caring, and above all happy residents. The home is modern, safe and security conscious, well maintained, homely with lovely interiors, spotlessly clean and fresh. Before my mum sadly passed away, the team brought much laughter and happiness back into Mum's life, and made her feel extremely loved and well cared for. To see Mum smiling took a huge weight off my shoulders and I was able to become my mum's daughter again rather than her carer. The whole willow team, are truly outstanding, the home and its gardens superb - Willow is second to none, and I recommend it without any hesitation or reservation - it's amazing!

Dad has been at Willow Tree for a year and a half. All staff are friendly, kind and very caring, both to Dad and to us. They have always kept us informed of any little issues with Dad and are quick to respond to questions. Care is person-centred with dad always treated as a person with a history. Although
he struggles to communicate, staff talk to him about his former interests and share a laugh with him. Thank you to everyone at Willow Tree!

Since March 2023 I have visited at different times, when you are greeted at the door with a smile. No smells, clean and fresh, such a pleasure to see. The staff take you to the resident, have time and care. I was at the BBQ afternoon, such a happy place. The love and touch the staff give to the residents,
holding hands, the touch is so important. The rooms are beautifully cleaned, bathrooms also. A lovely dining hall and downstairs lounge, bright chairs and so comfortable. Everyone works so hard to keep these standards. The best I have ever seen.

Current Review Score: 9.8 (9.831)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.831) out of 10 for Willow Tree Lodge is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 15 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.9 out of 5 from 15 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.956 for Willow Tree Lodge is calculated as follows: ( (173 Excellents x 5) + (6 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 180 Ratings = 4.956
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.875 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Willow Tree Lodge is based on 15 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.875
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 30 registered maximum number of service users is 6, which has been reached with 15 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
