My sister moved into residential care at Oak Grange last summer as it had become impossible for her to have sufficient care at home after a number of hospital admissions. She found it very difficult and challenging at first to accept that she could no longer live at home. But gradually, thanks to the
really wonderful encouragement from the lovely community care manager and Oak Grange care team, my sister is settling in. I don't live locally but notice progress every time I visit. She is now even accepting help to get out of bed and eat meals in the dining room as well as starting to chat with other residents. It is very reassuring to know that she is being so well looked after. I can ring at any time to find out how she is and always have lovely support from the very dedicated care team. Nothing is too much trouble and everyone is prepared to go the extra mile. It is always a pleasure to visit the home as there is such a nice happy atmosphere. I can highly recommend Oak Grange.

My mum has been at Oak Grange for several years now. She has severe dementia and has additional care issues requiring significant attention. The care provided by Oak Grange staff has been wonderful, and I couldn't ask for Mum to be in better hands. Mum is still smiling and singing even though it has

A close friend who is like a family member booked in for a respite stay due to being unwell and struggling to cope with daily life. He was made welcome on arrival and was supported in settling into a spacious room. The decor is lovely and clean, just like a home-from-home with a 5* hotel treatment.
All the staff in the Jubilee community have been outstanding and have given 100% to ensure all his individual needs are catered for. Nothing has been too much trouble to do and they have gone above and beyond to promote/support him to be able to return back to his own home when he is ready.

I cannot commend more highly the care, respect and attention that my mother has received since she became a resident. Unfortunately in September 2020, my mum had a fall at home resulting in hospital care, from there she was not able to go home and I needed to find a care home to take her during the
initial Covid lockdown. Oak Grange dealt with everything from assessment by hospital staff to transfer immediately in the late evening - it was such a weight off my shoulders. We could not visit due to regulations, but Oak Grange constantly kept us informed. They have continued to do this throughout her stay, both from Barchester and from staff within the care home. Knowing my mum, she will not have been the easiest resident, especially at the beginning, but despite her increasing dementia, she has always received the highest level of care and compassion, not forgetting the weekly entertainment. It is not the cheapest of homes, but you do get what you pay for.

My nan came into the home after a stay in hospital due to having an emergency operation. The staff completed the assessment with dignity and compassion as at the time our grandad (her husband of 59 years) had just passed away only days before. My nan immediately felt at ease and that she was going to
get through the tough times with assistance.
From the moment she entered the home which was a very fast discharge, which staff at Oak Grange had assisted to move along very quickly, my nan felt safe, could rest and was allowed to grieve in peace and at her own pace.
When she came in, she needed assistance with personal care and a very strict diet due to her operation, nothing was too much trouble for the staff and her every need was catered for. Due to the assistance and caring nature of all staff, my nan is now fully able to care for herself again but has decided to stay as she enjoys the company and knows there is support if needed in the future.

Oak Grange Care Home is a really lovely care home, with excellent care, provided for our loved ones. My ninety-year-old father was given three weeks of respite care in October 2022. The staff were excellent, caring and very professional. The building and surrounding areas are second to none. My father
was treated with dignity and respect, apart from one incident, which was dealt with immediately by the staff concerned. I can only praise the care at this home.

For the brief period my Gran resided in the home my family resorted to organizing a rota, so we had peace of mind that she wouldn't be left to fend for herself.
Unless we were there, she would often be left without a drink and expected to take herself to the toilet (she has dementia and very poor mobility)
and as a result, picked up an infection.
Due to my insistence that she be seen by a nurse one evening, a doctor was called into the home to assess her. He told me if she doesn't receive antibiotics tonight shell be septic in the hospital tomorrow.
With my daily visits, I saw the same residents ignored, shouted at, and left to soil themselves. When we told a carer that one lady was asking for help with this she replied It's OK, she has a pad on.
I found the lack of staff to be poor and the management to be apathetic and dishonest.
If you have a relative that requires any form of care this isn't the place for them.

My mother moved into Oak Grange on 01 October 2022 after a challenging time in hospital following a fall. Within 24 hours of being at Oak Grange, I could see the difference in her outlook and mood.


Oak Grange is in a beautiful location and the standard of decoration and cleanliness is excellent.

Mum's room is spacious and well-appointed and has a door onto a lovely garden which she loves as she can watch the birds and the squirrels feed.


Every member of the team that I have met have been friendly, professional and happy in their work. Mum has been given a great welcome and the unit Manager has really taken the time to understand mums needs and how best to support her.


Mum is already socialising with fellow residents and being encouraged to enjoy the company that she needs. Mum has commented on how good the food is and how safe and comfortable she feels.


Knowing that mum is safe and well cared for has given me a great sense of relief after a challenging three years.

The nurses, carers and staff are amazing and caring towards my mum. They always tell me how she is, which reassures me. Mum is always clean and showered every day. Staff go above and beyond for residents, but also relatives making sure they are ok, and when they have any worries, they will sit and have
a chat about it. I cannot thank them enough for the past year. Highly recommend Oak Grange Care Home 100%.

My grandfather has been a resident on the second floor since October 2021 at Oak Grange.
The care he has received and continues to receive is second to none. Nothing is a problem and all the staff from care staff to management are always friendly. If there are any issues they are keen to resolve them
and keep you updated. Staff go above and beyond they really are amazing and I am so reassured that he is in somewhere where individuals have his best interests at heart, thank you so much it is appreciated from the bottom of my heart. He has regular snacks, fluids are involved with the inter action of the staff and they clearly care. A delightful place to be involved in and I would definitely recommend it and the beautiful surroundings.

Only the best of care is given at Oak Grange Care Home. This is a home that is run in a very professional manner. The staff are excellent at providing high standards of care whilst making service users feel so at ease and happy. The home itself is spotless, and the staff are more than happy to go above
and beyond for the residents, making sure there is plenty of things to do and activities to occupy anyone who wishes to join in.

Barchester Oak Grange Care Home is a fantastic care home. From the moment you step through the front door you feel the warmth and care from all the team throughout. The staff, particularly management, could not have been more helpful trying to arrange care for a 94-year-old disabled mother during recent floods, Covid and a poor discharge from hospital, whilst living 240 miles away was a challenge. The resident doctor at the care home, along with nurses was excellent
and picked up many issues which had previously been missed. I cannot comment on rooms and facilities and cleanliness as I did not see them. I can thank the home for arranging a special bed and chair, which aided my mother's recovery, which was much improved on her departure to be nearer home and friends. The visiting arrangements were excellent. Thank you to everyone. Please let the home and staff know.

I have had two close friends live here. One still does and has lived here for a number of years now. My other friend moved here towards the end of his life and sadly passed away a year ago. The staff were incredible with his care and supporting his family and myself. They have always been a great team
and go above and beyond for residents. In my line of work, I visit lots of residential and nursing homes but this one really stands out for me. The care is fantastic and so clear to see. My friend has thrived here and even improved overall. I would definitely recommend Oak Grange to others and regularly do.

2021 has been a tough year for us all and this has been made even more difficult, not being able to see my Dad. Dad was taken into hospital during the first lockdown where he contracted COVID 19 but somehow managed to fight through and recover. Dad has dementia and needs nursing care, so he was taken
into Oak Grange from the hospital and ever since has come on so much. He is getting the right care he needs and everyone at the home is so friendly and always available to reassure us. Nothing is ever too much trouble for the staff. Oak Grange is an amazing care home and it gives me great comfort to know that he is in such a nice environment and being well cared for. There is always something going on for the residents to keep them busy and they have beautiful well-maintained gardens. I Skype Dad most days and now we have our visits back too, in a COVID safe environment of course. It’s like sitting in your living room. I can’t thank the staff enough for all their hard work. Highly recommended.

My mum has cared for my dad, who has dementia for the past 10 years. In July, Dad fell and broke his hip and unfortunately following surgery Dad's dementia declined rapidly. He has very complex care needs and we took the difficult decision that it was no longer possible to provide adequate care at home.
We had already identified Oak Grange as a preferable option and when Dad was discharged he moved to the care home. Dad's dementia is very advanced and Oak Grange is now providing end of life care for him. I have been touched by the care and compassion shown by the staff towards Dad and our family. Dad is treated with dignity and every effort is made to keep Dad comfortable, pain-free and peaceful. Our family are very grateful to the manager who has understood the needs of our family to be with Dad at this sad time and made it possible for us to have some precious time with him despite the challenges care providers are facing during the pandemic.

Always staff around seem very welcoming and cheerful. Nice for us to see and for our Mum to hear and see people - not a lonely place.
Food is a very good standard.
Home decor and cleanliness is of a very good standard, although just recently can smell urine, maybe carpets due for a clean?

Having worked in various care settings and possessing a passion for enhancing the lives of older adults, I bring a wealth of experience and creativity to the role. My primary objective is to create a vibrant and engaging activities programme that caters to the unique interests, abilities and preferences of each Resident.


Together, we will embark on a journey of discovery, enjoyment and companionship. From engaging social events and group outings to stimulating cognitive exercises and creative pursuits, our goal is to ensure that there is always something for everyone to look forward to.


Furthermore, I am here not only as an Activities coordinator but also as a friend and confidant, I encourage open communication, suggestions, and feedback from each Resident and their families.

Hello, my name is Becca and I am the Administration Assistant at Oak Grange, I will likely be one of the first faces you see when you arrive at the home and you’ll always receive a cheery smile and a warm welcome.


I have been part of the team since 2022 when I joined as a part-time General Assistant whilst studying my A Levels. I have worked in most departments so have knowledge from all perspectives and I am able to share this with potential families/residents when they visit.


In September 2023 I was delighted to be appointed as Admin Assistant and the opportunity to continue my education in Business Studies, NVQ Level 3. I feel valued and part of the team and love that I can grow and develop in such a wonderful nurturing environment.
