Reviews

9.3 Grange House has a Review Score of 9.3 (9.285)

The Review Score of 9.3 (maximum of 10) for Grange House is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 6 Reviews over all time. This Average Rating is also the rating value for Grange House in Google's Search Results - more info

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.4 out of 5 from 3 positive Reviews in the last 12 months.

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating of all Reviews over all time. For each review the Care Home / service is rated Excellent, Good, Satisfactory, Poor or Very Poor on a number of areas eg Staff, Management etc. The Care Home receives points for each rating as follows: Excellent = 5. Good = 4. Satisfactory = 3. Poor = 2. Very Poor = 1. These points are added up and then divided by the total number of completed ratings to generate the average rating.

    The Average Rating of 4.903 for Grange House is calculated as follows: ( (65 Excellents x 5) + (7 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 72 Ratings = 4.903

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 12 months. If there are no Positive Reviews in the last 12 months, then 2.5 points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 2 years. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with 'Extremely Likely' or 'Likely' in answer to the question 'How likely are you to recommend this Care Home to friends and family if they needed similar care or treatment?'

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 5 Positive Reviews, 3 points for the first Positive Review and then 0.25 Points for each of the next 4 Positive Reviews.

    2. 1 point is available for reaching a target number of Positive Reviews based on 20% of the number of registered maximum number of service users. If the target is partially reached then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home with 50 registered maximum number of service users has a target of 10 Positive Reviews, if it has 10 or more Positive Reviews it will receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews will receive 0.7 points.

    3. If there are no Positive Reviews in the last 12 months, then 2.5 points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 2 years. The calculation is the same as above, except the points are divided by 2.

The 4.382 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Grange House is based on 3 positive Reviews in the last 12 months and is calculated as follows:

    1. 3 + 0.25 + 0.25 = 3.5

    2. Target of 3.4 positive Reviews (17 registered maximum number of service users ÷ 5). 3 Reviews ÷ 3.4 Target = 0.882

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

We felt very fortunate to find Grange House at the time my father needed it. As soon as I went to look round, I appreciated the calm, positive atmosphere in the home. It felt pleasantly relaxed, with the freedom to choose what to do and where to be. There are quiet areas where you can go and sit if you don't want to be in the main lounge, and also a piano, which my father enjoyed playing. The home has a light, airy feel and the rooms were lovely and well-decorated. The manager was excellent. Communication was very clear, I was kept well-informed and the home was run in a very efficient way. I really appreciated this. The carers I met were all very pleasant, helpful and kind. I've been meaning to write this review for some time, as sadly my father has now passed away.

Mother had a comfortable, well-furnished room and received excellent care. The staff were always very pleasant and nothing seemed to be too much trouble for them. I would not hesitate to recommend Grange House to others.

I Volunteer at Grange house Care Home in Eastbourne regularly and I must say I think the work the staff do is fantastic. It is a beautifully clean and tidy care home managed superbly by the management team and the staff do a wonderful job to maintain such a positive safe and happy ambience within the home.
I also love the regular entertainment that comes in to entertain the residents it all adds to the 5* service Grange House provide to all residents. I can't recommend this care home enough, what friends and family want for their loved ones is to know that they are putting their faith in the right people and at Grange House that couldn't be more true.

My friend's sister and I looked for a home for respite for her sister. We visited four in total, and this one was the best. She, at present, has spent eight weeks there and loves it and is very happy. On every visit to the home we have been greeted by several members of staff, always with a smile, laughter and ready to assist in any way. I have accompanied her to lunch, there at her table, having different meals on occassions, all looks and smells lovely.
