I always receive a very pleasant welcome when I visit Scholars Mews which is so important. All of the staff are extremely helpful and nothing is too much bother. I am confident that my husband is well cared for and is contented living in the "home". Staff try their upmost to keep residents busy and occupied. Thank you to everyone!

From the moment we chose Scholars Mews for my friend to the time she passed on we have been delighted with the care from all staff. It is like an extended family where everyone looks out for each other from staff to residents to relatives and friends. I visited my friend (who I was more a daughter to) 2 or 3 times a week and never once felt people were too busy to listen to me or to see to the needs of my friend. All aspects of the Home from laundry to choice of food to care from staff was always a high standard. The daily activities for residents were plenty and varied - never come across such dedication to this in other Homes. All very clean with great decor which is kept fresh and new. Walking in is a delight - a bit like a 5 star hotel but with the homeliness and friendliness everyone wishes for. Well done to all.

Scholars Mews has been such a great home for my mum. She is happy there and we are so grateful to the wonderful carers who all have a real depth of warmth and dedication. My mum's abilities are now limited but despite this the activities team create experiences for her to enjoy. I actually couldn't imagine a better environment for her. It's a happy place. I love that they go to the effort of decorating to the hilt for Christmas, Halloween, Valentine's Day etc! It puts a smile on everyone's faces.

My mum has been a resident since November 25 and receives the most amazing care.
The staff are kind, compassionate and respectful and never pass her room without waving and talking to her.
Her physical needs are fully met and the well being team provide a wide variety of activities
Family are updated and included in the activities which include many special occasions.
Meals are nutritious and appealing and clients can make special requests.

My family and my mum cannot praise Scholars Mews any more highly and we are so pleased she is so happy, content and well cared for.

My partner has had three 2-week respite stays at Scholars Mews. This has been a very positive experience for my partner and myself. Staff are friendly, warm and welcoming. I am particularly impressed how warmly they greet him back each time he returns. He always looks well cared for and happy to be there. He has previously had one period in respite care in a more expensive facility, where the care he received was inferior.

I can't fault the care my relative with dementia receives at Scholars Mews.
The staff always greet me with a smile and a wave and find the time for a quick update if requested and they treat the residents like they are family.
The rooms and public areas are bright, clean and tidy.

The food is good and the activities schedule is packed.

Overall the standard of care at Scholars Mews is excellent. The carers show genuine care, respect and affection for the residents which is very reassuring and heartwarming. The entertainment and activities schedule is very impressive and my mother in law is always engaged in something which interests her. As a family we can not fault the care which Mum receives from the staff at Scholars Mews.

If you are looking for a care home for your loved one this is the one to choose. It can be very stressful to hand over care of your loved one to a some one else. All the staff make you feel very welcome and you can visit whenever you want to. The staff are very caring to Mum and all of us, her family. They have time to talk to you if you have any concerns. Every aspect of care is dealt with in a very caring manner. The rooms are very home-from-home. Nothing is too much trouble. There are plenty of activities to take part in, if able. The meals a lovely and varied. Complimentary coffee & cake available for visitors are a lovely gesture which makes it feel like home. I would recommend Scholars Mews to anyone.

This care home would be difficult to better. The staff are so welcoming and nothing is to much trouble. My mum is very happy with the care she receives and praises the staff and loves the food. I never announce my visits, I just pop in when I can, and I'm always made welcome, in fact I feel more like one of a big happy family. I would recommend Scholars Mews to anyone and would be glad to move in myself.

Before I asked Avery to care for my father I surveyed and assessed many other facilities., before making a final decision.
I have a very high regard for this facility where my Father is being cared for. The staff are all amazing in every way expected. The atmosphere is both friendly and efficient on all matters . I can compliment the care home enough or the sraff whiuch is acredit to the the Management approach for five star treatment.

Kind regards

The Client Relations Manager has been very supportive of the process from initial contact to dealing with queries as we have gone on this journey. It is confusing who does what in the home and linking with Adult Social Care has and is challenging. The food is adequate and comparable to say school dinners and I guess the fees are paying for care not food. Good range of activities Dad needs encouragement to join in I think he gets it. Time is at a premium but talking to him is important I come to home late in afternoon and often find him alone in his room. I have to score down on value for money due to the high cost of residential care, whilst I understand context in which it is delivered. Final comment the staff are professional caring and open and willing to talk, alternative and I feel Dad is safe.

My dad feels like he has gone home. I've not seen him this happy for over a decade. The staff smile and engage with all of the residents.
When I leave, I'm no longer worried about him or anxious as I know he's in good hands and I know he's enjoying himself.
Everyone seems to care for each other and it's a delight to go and visit him as everyone makes me feel so welcome and I go into his room and he is smiling
And the cakes are amazing!!!

Thank you

I'm so pleased that we moved mum to Scholars Mews, the teams care has been exemplary and I have had the eight of the world lifted from my shoulders. The activity team is wonderful; shes been involved in activities ranging from meeting cute puppies to church visits and a visit from the Easter bunny. A recent visit to hospital was handled seamlessly and I have no worries that her various medical needs are monitored and adjusted appropriately.

We viewed two other homes in the area and this was by far our favourite. It has the feeling of a small boutique hotel but above all the staff are so welcoming, caring and friendly. The residents are encouraged to treat the home as their home and what I love is that you can pop in at any time. My mum is there having some respite care after a couple of falls, she won't be able to live independently at home so we are looking at making the transition from temp to perm as what we have experienced so far is brilliant. I love how civilised it is, the wine with the meals makes me want to join in.

When we came to see Dad we are always greeted so warmly - and impressed by the professionalism of the team at Scholars. Dad enjoys the wide range of activities and recently has appreciated being offered a haggis on Burns Night in recognition of his Scottish heritage and the regular visits from the local school pupils.

We have been impressed by Scholars Mews. My mum-in-law has been treated with respect and dignity. In fact, when we have visited, we have witnessed the staff interaction with other service users. Dignity is always maintained too. Staff are so patient. They deserve medals. Everyone is treated with dignity. Dealing with dementia patients is incredibly difficult and we really appreciate all the help and support they give. Honestly, it may be early days in her journey, but we have absolutely no complaints. Also, Scholars Mews is modern but homely and really clean. I'd like to think that if I need such a facility, this would be it. Thank you for all you do.
