My mother has been a resident in Herald Lodge for nearly six years due to dementia. Throughout her time there she has been treated with kindness, respect and compassion. The staff are outstanding in their caring, supportive attitude. The living areas are warm, modern and clean, and the catering is of extremely high quality. The care my mother receives could not be better and we are very grateful to all the staff at Herald Lodge.

Friendly welcoming care home which cares for the residents as if they were family members. Lots of activities for the residents and all residents are clean, dressed appropriately and eat really well. The rooms are clean, spacious and inviting and the on site facilities are excellent. The team working there are dedicated and I hope there will be a space for me when I need care.

My Mum has been at Herald Lodge for nearly two years, the care she receives is excellent, ALL the staff are so friendly and caring and have taken their time to get to know Mum and her family and friends, it is like a home from home, nothing is too much trouble. The activities that are available are brilliant, accessible to all residents and family and friends are welcome to join in and support their loved one and the home its self. The home is spotlessly clean and well looked after, with a good choice of meals and treats. I would recommend Herald Lodge in a heart beat.

Herald Lodge gives a homely feel from the moment you walk in. The staff are always happy and attentive to residents and their families. The care they provide is exceptional and even the management support their residents care needs as they treat their residents like family. My grandma is very settled and feels at home, knowing she can rely on wonderful staff when needed. The girls are working hard to maintain a lovely environment for the residents. The reassurance me and my mum have received from the management was really appreciated when my grandma moved in. So thank you very much to all staff. You have made the transition so easy for myself and my mum to help settle my grandma.

Overall Experience
My mother moved in last year and the care and support she has received from the staff at Herald Lodge has been amazing. Their care with dignity has supported the self-respect of my mother as they recognise her capacities and capabilities. Their respect for what she can do, the way they took the time to find out who she is and the life she has lived have been great in making her feel comfortable in her new environment over the past months.

I must also say that the support they have given me whilst I have adjusted to this new situation has been appreciated. Nothing is ever too much trouble and they always keep me up-to-date on how she is which has made the transition in this situation easier to cope with.

We were very pleased to find this care home for my mum and lucky that they had a room available for her at short notice. It was an anxious time for Mum as she had really wanted to stay in her own home. However, we found a true 'home from home' in Herald Lodge and everything possible was done to make the transition as easy as possible for us all. The home is warm and comfortable and the facilities are excellent. Everything is spotless and Mum seemed very happy in her room. Every member of staff from managers to carers and domestic staff were kind and supportive and they could not have done more to help Mum and the family. Nothing was too much trouble. Sadly Mum's stay in Herald Lodge was short and she did not get to experience the many activities on offer. I know she would have enjoyed them as there was always something going on that residents could choose to do. Many thanks to all staff for providing outstanding care to my mum, we will never forget your kindness and support.

Every time I visit Dad seems very happy. He enjoys his food. He's always whistling and singing. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Nice wide long corridors. My daughters and I are very happy with his care. The rooms are tidy. My only criticism would be there is sometimes a stale odour on the top floor, maybe due to accidents with residents and carpet on the floor.
