My Dad has been in Harper Fields for four weeks after spending more than six months in hospital. The staff are fantastic, friendly enthusiastic and above all caring, kind and patient with my Dad who's not always compliant because of his condition. He lost a lot of weight in hospital I'm hopeful that
he will be able to put some back on, as well as the lovely choices on the menu there are regular snacks. Their cafe is a bonus, I can make myself a drink to take to Dads room or sit with him in the cafe. The home is in a beautiful setting, my Dad particularly likes to be outside and there's a circular path around the home that I can push his wheelchair round. Today was his birthday, we were able to have a birthday party there in a private lounge dining room that could hold all the immediate family. The food provided was plentiful and delicious and really made Dads birthday special.

2 weeks in June, overall I was very contented and well looked after, as I was only booked for 2 weeks I wasn't concerned too much re any problems. I noticed that mealtimes ran much smoother when there were sufficient staff on duty, frequently short staffed some breakfast times. The food wasn't always
to my taste but I tried to eat everything and certainly haven't been hungry.

Nice welcome for my husband for respite care. was really easy, as I thought he might be awkward. apparently he was really good, and since coming home not stopped talking about it.

Overall, we find the standard of care very good and the staff are helpful, friendly and caring. Some staff members, in particular, go above and beyond to resolve queries regarding residents' care and health and to encourage them to take part in activities.

We asked for dad to be admitted to Harper Fields as he was vunerable at home due to a series of falls. He feels much safer and settled here. The staff are so warm and friendly. Dad is happier here than he has been in a long time.

My wife has Alzheimer's and has now been in Harper Fields for four weeks. I cannot fault anything; she is definitely more content there than she was at home and is looked after by wonderful caring staff who have also been very supporting to me.
The staff treat everyone with respect and kindness. I
have no complaints there. The whole process of admitting my wife (who does not have awareness of her condition) was handled with great understanding. Also, the carers help when visiting, particularly when saying goodbye can be stressful.
I have no doubts that my wife is being looked after in the best possible way.

We needed dementia care and nursing care for our frail relative with complex needs. Even though she was only there a few weeks our experience was very positive. My partner spent a week @ Harpers Fields - I was very worried as it was our first ever experience of respite. I really didn't need to as, she was welcomed warmly and so much respect - with her likes and needs a top priority. He room and the home overall was spotless, staff visible - doing their best
to keep it so. Food was lovely. Plenty of choice - healthy options too. I was pleased to see a variety of activities. Staff were so kind and caring. I felt I was leaving her in good hands. We would use this place again as I have peace of mind.

My father went onto palliative caring in hospital + we needed to find a suitable nursing home for him. From the moment we walked through the door of Harper Fields we felt welcome + that a) they could cater for his needs + b) that he would be well looked after.
The staff went to great lengths to facilitate
his discharge + welcomed us all when he arrived.
Sadly his stay was very short but we had total confidence that the nursing team could meet his needs - + they did. Thank you. It meant the world.

My mother was still poorly on arrival to Harper Fields. The care from the Nurses care manager, carers, Ancilliary staff then and subsequently, have improved my mothers quality of life.
The staff treat everyone as an individual, with respect and patience. The personal care and hygiene is a credit to
the staff. Even on the busiest of days the Residents are calm and give time. Attention to detail is excellent.

I spent 3 weeks at Harper Fields recuperating from a fall and surgery. The staff were absolutely excellent, kind and caring - nothing was too much trouble for them. The room was comfortable, but there was an ongoing problem with no hot water in the bathroom which was not resolved during my stay. The
food was very disappointing - bland and lacking in variation. This was a shame given how excellent and dedicated the staff are.

I always find the staff very friendly and helpful. The nurses and care assistants are very patient with my dad and they keep us well informed about how he has been.
The facilities are excellent and the whole home is always kept very clean and tidy.

My mum has been at Barchester Harper Fields for just under two months. She has settled in well. The place is lovely and well-kept. The staff are amazing and are very attentive. I am really pleased she is in a place that feels homely, clean and has everything she needs and is looked after by such wonderful,

New decorations are very nice. My mum enjoys the spa bath. I feel that the menu is very repetitive and vegetarian choices are poor. I would question the nutritional value of items such as "courgette gratin" and ratatouille, alongside mushroom stroganoff or mixed vegetable casserole.
The entertainment,
even taking into account the lack of an entertainment leader, has been very poor. Walks around the grounds is dependent on the weather and numbers limited. There are not many occasions when wheelchair users are taken out. Room visits and pamper sessions are also restricted by staff availability and resources.

Mum came to Barchester Harper Fields as respite care. She has terminal cancer and was finding it hard to cope at home on her own.
She found it hard to adjust at first but did adjust and began to get involved in care home life.
Mum is not too keen on the food as it has deteriorated since she came here,
she only likes a soft diet and there is inconsistency in the quality.
Communication has been patchy at times and Mum's care has been affected by this.
I do feel Mum is safe and on the whole, well looked after.
Consistency with staff has also been an issue.

Exceeds my expectations as a care home since coming here in March 2024. Staff, generally, are very good however sometimes communication is not the best. Sometimes, I feel my care is rushed (shower, personal care) but realise everyone is under pressure, sometimes short-staffed.
