Lake View Residential Care Home

Staff cannot spend enough time "caring" due to the amount of time spent on cradles. The menus sent out by the dietician are not diabetic friendly with options containing carbs for lunch and dinner which is unsafe for a diabetic to consume at every meal.

At the time of this review, Mom's room has suffered a leak/water damage. She has had to move to a temporary room on a different floor. This seems to be managed ok but there is no indication to complete repairs. Generally, Mom is well known and understood by staff who provide excellent care. Staff are approachable and friendly and efforts to raise funds and provide a range of activities are welcome. The environment is clean, friendly and supportive.

Excellent care for short-term respite period. Very pleased with all aspects of the home and would highly recommend it.

Mum initially went into Lake View for respite care in February 2023 but she has ended up staying there. Mum's dementia means that she doesn't really understand where she is or why she is there, but every time I visit her she seems happy. She has a lovely-sized room that looks out towards the lake and a nice ensuite bathroom. I was initially quite worried about how she would settle in, but from the very first day, all of the staff have been absolutely brilliant with her and they have put my mind at ease. Whenever I visit, the staff always seem really happy and upbeat, taking part in activities with the residents, singing and dancing with them and treating them with the utmost kindness and compassion. I'm always kept informed about everything to do with Mum and for the first time in nearly three years, I am able to go on holiday without worrying.

Mum came to Lake View the end of March 2023 after having a fall it was impossible for her to return home, since then I can only give full praise to the wonderful care mum has received from all the staff, they keep me updated on a regular basis regarding mum's health and are always easily accessible any time of day. A big thank you to you all.

Mum has been in Lakeview for approximately two months initially staying for respite and was quite poorly when she arrived. They have worked wonders with her, sorting out her medication and bringing her back to full health. The family will be eternally grateful as we honestly thought she would not pull through. They are friendly, caring and very thoughtful and mum loves it there. She calls it her home now although there was a time when she said to us that if we ever put her in a care home, she would come back and haunt us! Thank you everyone, mum is back to her old self and very happy.

Mom has been a resident at Lakeview for about 3 year’s the staff are excellent and all her needs are met on a daily basis. Mom has been extremely happy during her time there, and has had no issues. I would recommend Lakeview if you’re looking for a residential home for yourself or a family member.

Mum has been a resident at Lake View Residential Care Home for nearly 6 years. The staff are friendly, caring and provide an excellent service. The activities on offer are numerous and staff always encourage residents to take part. We are kept informed of Mum’s care and couldn’t wish for a more caring environment for her to live in.

My mother went in during Covid with dementia she coped better than we did especially my dad. The home did everything they could to ease the process for my dad who found it hard to come to terms with the situation. When my dad passed last July the home have been exceptional with my mother who can be challenging and has treated her with dignity carrying out a very difficult job thank you to all the staff.

My father has dementia and is well cared for and looked after. The staff are always friendly and helpful and keep me informed should any issues arise. The home is always kept clean and tidy. It has been difficult over the covid lockdown periods but I feel the staff have managed this very well.

from the office staff, cooks and cleaners to the lovely nursing staff, they go above and beyond. We as a family appreciate everything that they all do.

Having visited the care home at least twice a week since last July, I have no hesitation whatsoever and justifiably so in saying that Lake View care home meets every expectation in every department. You could not wish for better management and care staff, and having eaten there on a couple of occasions, I can vouch for the excellent quality of the food.

I could tell that Mum was happy in Lakeview, and that was the most important part of my travel down to Telford.

This is one of, if not the best care homes in Telford. The staff truly care for the residents making it as much fun as possible for them and of course fun for themselves which makes for a happy team, the most important part. Nothing is ever too much trouble and in the current financial climate, receiving not the best pay they are angels. We always recommend Lake View to our friends and family. Having had some experience with previous care settings for my late mother-in-law and previously for my father-in-law I can honestly say it is brilliant. Giving us complete peace of mind that dad is in the best place and is as happy as he can be.

From the setting, team and management all are exceptional. Nothing is too much trouble for anyone. The food is amazing with plenty of variety and if my dad wanted something different it was no trouble. The care teams are attentive, and caring and go out of their way to help and attend to his needs. My dad felt listened to, helped, respected and looked after. I felt relaxed knowing he was being looked after.

Excellent what more can I say? My mother is happy there and the staff are fantastic. They are all caring and very professional. I hope that when we need more respite for my mother that Lake View have availability.

Staff on reception are so friendly and happy to answer any queries and have offered me a shoulder on more than one occasion. Highly recommended.

I call Lakeview almost every day to find out how my mother is and every time l call l am treated with kindness. Although on occasions my mothers behaviour is challenging l always feel that the staff are supporting her appropriately. The environment in which my mother is cared for is well kept, freshly decorated and the catering is excellent. I have the utmost respect for the wonderful staff who have worked so very hard over the covid period and who continue to offer a first rate attitude to their critical role as health care professionals. Please note they are still wearing masks to safeguard the residents but personally l feel that this is making a physically and mentally exhausting job even harder!
