The team at Lake View are passionate about enriching the lives of their residents and supporting them to have a very active role to play in how their home is run. There are resident ambassadors, who do everything from showing new residents and their families around their home, to providing feedback at residents’ meetings.

The home is thriving, with so many activities to enjoy, from karaoke, pamper sessions and a knit and natter group, to movie afternoons with popcorn in the home’s cinema, trips out into the community, pub lunches and animal visits.

The local community are embraced into life in the home, from school children who take part in activities, to a community choir, musicians and entertainers who regularly perform for the residents. And the home has its own piano for anyone who fancies some spontaneous music!

Lake View has its own a hair salon, with a mobile hairdresser visiting weekly, as well as a coffee shop for ‘Tea Tuesdays’ and relaxing with loved ones, who are welcome at any time.

The beautiful landscaped gardens have raised planters and wheelchair friendly pathways. This summer the residents have loved growing their own fruit and vegetables from seed in the polytunnel, harvesting their produce for the chef to use in the kitchen, giving them such a sense of achievement.

Mealtimes are another highlight, with home-cooked meals and freshly baked cakes for afternoon tea. In the dining rooms residents enjoy everything from roast dinners with all the trimmings to fish and chip Fridays, plus themed menus for special occasions.

The spacious bedrooms are beautifully furnished and decorated, with walk-in wet room showers.

Loved ones are embraced into life in the home and are welcome at any time. And there is a private family and friends Facebook page, where they can see what the residents have been enjoying doing, even if they can’t be there in person.

The experience of my Dad moving into permanent, residential care has been made so much easier to accept due to the very caring, supportive and friendly manner of all the staff.
Dad's needs are accommodated in a caring way with a relaxed approach to his mood changes, which means he has been calmer and

Visited a couple of years ago and was impressed.
Less than 24 hours after my mom was in care she had an individual care plan and initial assessment.
Very professional.
All staff very professional and caring.
Building and facilities in excellent condition.
Very good facilities within rooms.

My mother has been at the home for 8 weeks. Following a difficult period prior to going to Lake View she is now extremely happy, has regained her confidence and totally loves the home. This has reduced the pressure on my family enormously and it is a delight to visit her.

The staff are very caring - engaging with both the residents and visitors. Nothing is too much trouble.
Mom came to the home in home in July following a fall, they have fitted a falls alarm in her room and also taken delivery of a profile bed since her last fall three weeks ago.

The staff are very nice, will chat if they have time, staff shortages sometimes.
The place is clean and warm and the food good most of the time. Activities several times a week, something to look forward to. We have entertainers as well.

The staff who deal with me are all very good. I prefer some to others.
Really enjoy baths. Some concern about the time to be taken to the toilet.
Perhaps need some help making friends and meeting people.
The room is good. The food is very good.

Lake View have been wonderful in looking after my mum. Staff are always kind, caring and very approachable. The home is always clean and tidy and lots of activities go on. The manager is always available if you have any concerns. Lake View - I couldn't ask for better care for my mum.

I've been here since May 2016. Having become somewhat withdrawn during the early stages, I was hardly involved with the care home day to day affairs. Thereafter, I became increasingly but slowly more active and a return to my more "normal" extrovert self. I now wear several "hats". Coordinator/chair
of the home residents weekly meetings, co-editor, regular contributor to the home newsletter, "bingo caller". Question writer and quizmaster of weekly house quiz. I am a keen and competent guitarist and am preparing a concert for June 2018.

My Brother-in-law has settled into this care home very quickly. He is obviously very well cared for and is very happy here. The staff are extremely welcoming and friendly and nothing is too much trouble. Almost like being at home!!

I have an elderly mother and father who have been in care since last August and have been impressed with their care.
The home is excellent, very friendly and very approachable. They always try to do their best for my parents.
They love the food, which always smells lovely.
I have no regrets putting

From day one, the staff and management have been excellent, nothing has been too much trouble. Th room mum is in is ideal. The food has been first class and catered for mum's needs. In the short time, mum has been here, her mobility has improved no end. This is due to the exercise activities and mum
being able to move around freely with her walker. The gardens are lovely and being able to sit out in the sunshine is an added bonus.

Many thanks to all the staff at Lake View Care Home for the love and kindness that they show to all residents including my mum. Choosing a care home for a loved one is a hard task, choosing Lake View was and is a decision that I do not regret. Lovely rooms, caring staff, nice gardens, a range of activities

My name is Dannie and I am the Home Manager at Lake View I am also the Home's Moving and Handling Trainer and a trained Mental Health First Aider. I have worked for Sanctuary for 10 years. My Background has always been working in the care industry from the age of 16 when I started as a domestic assistant.


I love working at Lake View and I have a passion for leading a team that is caring, and kind and will go that extra mile for our amazing residents and their loved ones.
