My father has received excellent care over the past month, in fact for the whole time he has been here - 18 months. He is treated with respect and kindness at all times. He has just celebrated his 100th birthday. The staff helped us give him a wonderful birthday and it's thanks to the care he has received at Darwin Court that he has reached this milestone. I am very grateful to all the staff here for their kindness and consideration.
Many thanks for you kind words, it was our pleasure to celebrate with Roy and the family. It was as wonderful afternoon with all his family and his friends celebrating a huge milestone of a wonderful gentleman.
The care my brother is receiving is excellent. The staff are very helpful and caring. The food is first class and the rooms and the community rooms are all kept tidy and clean. Overall the family are happy with the provision of care provided.
Many thanks for you kind comments, I will pass these on to the unit. It is our pleasure to care for your brother and to provide the level of care needed.
I cannot speak highly enough about the care and support provided by this care home. From the moment we first visited, the staff made us feel welcome, reassured, and confident that our loved one would be in safe and caring hands. Moving into residential care is never an easy decision for a family, but the kindness, patience, and professionalism shown by everyone here made the transition so much easier.
The carers are truly compassionate and treat every resident with dignity and respect. They take the time to get to know each individual personally, understanding their preferences, routines, and needs. It is clear that the wellbeing and happiness of residents are always the top priority. The staff are attentive, approachable, and always willing to go the extra mile to ensure residents feel comfortable and cared for.
The home itself is clean, warm, and welcoming, with a lovely atmosphere throughout. The rooms and communal areas are well maintained, creating a safe and homely environment.
Thank you so much for you lovely comments, the team at Darwin work hard to make sure our residents and the home are cared for. and well looked after.
My wife and I visited our neighbour, we found the home very good. We were shown around and found everything was very good, could not fault anything. She said she was very happy living in the home.
Thank you for your lovely comments and we are very glad you enjoyed your visit to Darwin Court. We take great pride in our home and I will pass this on to all our team members
Darwin Court were there when our family needed respite care for my father at short notice. From the point of initial contact, the response was extremely positive and reassuring. Ongoing, the care and consideration given to my father and our family exceeded all expectations. We felt totally confident to have Father in this safe and secure environment. All the staff are outstanding, the catering/food service beyond expectations. We visited daily and enjoyed coffee and cake with Dad in this wonderful, clean and tidy home.
Our staff take pride in offering compassionate, person-centred care, and it's wonderful to know their efforts made a positive difference.
Lovely, clean home, staff are all very welcoming. Always lots of things on for the residents.
Thank you for your kind comments. We are very proud of our Home and the team that works there.
My friend has been in Darwin Court for around 6 weeks now for respite care. The staff are very friendly, kind and attentive. He is receiving the care and support needed in a safe environment. I am made very welcome when I visit.
Thank you Lisa so much for taking the time to share your kind words. We're delighted to hear that your Friend has settled in well at Darwin Court and that our team's support helped make the transition easier for him. Moving into a new environment is a big change, and it means a great deal to us...
During my career I helped to set up and manage fifteen care homes for the elderly. I have the POA for my cousin and when his dementia made it dangerous for him to live on his own, I investigated two homes in London, where he lived, and three homes near me. Darwin Court met my cousin's needs and his financial position. Their help with moving him was excellent.
My cousin came to Darwin Court in November 2024. He was helped to settle in with kindness and care. As a 81 year old bachelor who lived on his own and was suffering from Alzheimer's, he adapted to his new life helped by the excellent facilities and the kindness of staff. Any of my concerns were addressed immediately and did not have to be addressed again.

Exceptional care. Staff are brilliant. Great facilities.
Thank you for your kind comments, we take great pride in our home and the care we give to our residents. Your feedback is important to us to make sure we continue providing the service we pride ourselves on.
Despite this home being fully aware of the challenges my father brought thw management took my father in as a resident however he was quickly isolated by the majority of the staff (other than Mohammed, Mike & 1 or 2 others). He was never encouraged to get involved in activities or to eat in communal dinining area. On several occassions he soiled bedding or other areas & there seemed to be no urgency to clean either him or the area. On occassions we cleaned him up ourselves rather than wait for staff to come to his aid. From day one he was promised a Tv in his room but we had to supply our own despite staff sitting in a larg unused lounge watching a TV. I found onevor 2 staff to be extremely lazy with one particular carer always easy to find sat on her backside in the lounge. As soon as he showed a little agression we were told he had to leave. Ge has dementia so what did they expect? To be honest I struggle to see where the £1600 a week we were paying went.
Thank you for sharing your feedback. We are obviously disappointed that you have had a negative experience. We take all feedback very seriously, as our aim is to provide the best possible care. We are sorry you felt that the care for your father did not meet your expectations, we were completely...
We would especially like to thank Lucia.
She is so caring & efficient.
Many thanks for your kind words and we will pass this on to the Spires Suite. Our teams work very hard to create a caring and helping environment for our residents
Darwin Court is a bright and friendly place. A 'family' feel is found throughout - from the bistro next to reception into each suite. Staff and management work hard to engage both residents and their families in the many and varied events available. Staff on each wing/suite are alert to any developing health or 'mood' issues, and advise appropriate seniors, thus avoiding more deep-seated problems. A great bonus is the lovely roof garden.
Thank you so much for your kind words Jo, these will be passed to the suite that Mom is on. Its our great privilege to care and create a homely atmosphere for our residents.
Disappointing. Husband wore same clothes 3 days, mon-wed, slept in them. No shower. I had to get him to shower. There are various ways to follow up request/advice to shower. On visits he appeared lost. Saturday afternoon had coffee in lounge/foyer during which 3 staff members stood in foyer - lift opened body appeared on gurney taken to ambulance, no one had the courtesy to forewarn us. Friday confirmed with 'admin' collection on Sunday after lunch. On arrival bedlam noone appeared to know who was responsible for what - I was told all bank staff. Clothing missing requested from rude - on his phone - ignored - male nurse on two occasions Saturday. Three requests for meds took 1 and a half hours from staff another ward dealt - unable to find file - assessment papers loose under file papers, no paper to write on. Meal delayed food out - sure cold. All crockery from breakfast on unit at 1:45 pm not even clean spoon! No menus.
Thank you for taking the time to bring this to our attention. We are obviously disappointed that you have had a negative experience. We take all feedback very seriously, as our aim is to provide the best possible care. As your husband was on our Residential Suite with your agreement, he was...
I regularly visit friend and brother. I am impressed by the efficiency, help and atmosphere at Darwin Court.
Many thanks for your kind words, its lovely to see you both on a regularly basis in the Bistro.
As soon as you walk through the door, the home is spacious with a friendly greeting. The rooms are bright and roomy with en-suite bathrooms. All staff seem friendly and are happy to help at any time. Mom is very happy here, and enjoys participating in most of the activities.
Thank you for your kind words, we are so glad Mom has settled in, its our pleasure to look after such a lovely lady.
Darwin Court in Lichfield is a first-class care home, which is run and staffed by people with a professional and caring focus on their residents. The nursing and administrative staff are beyond reproach. I hold minor concerns about weekend staff levels and the general attention given to what may seem to be minor details, but are, in fact, matters of significance to residents and their families.
Many thanks for your kinds comments, it was our privilege to care for Mom on our Minster Unit and I will certainly pass on your kind words to the staff.
My dad moved into Darwin Court Care Home in March 2025. As a family, we are over the moon with the level of care that he has been shown from the outset. Staff are amazing and nothing is too much trouble. We are so happy that he is now thriving in such a safe and secure environment with a wide variety of activities available.
Many thanks for your kind words, its our privilege to look after your father, its really lovely to see how he has thrived since moving into our Garrick Suite.
Darwin and the staff have been really reassuring since Mum arrived. Feels like a massive anxiety has been lifted and that the team are always there to support and help. The coffee shop is a godsend for bringing a little normalcy to seeing Mum.
Thank you so much J for your kind words and your support for our team. We are incredibly grateful for your recognition of their hard work and dedication. We strive to provide the highest level of care to all our residents. Thank you again.
Excellent care home. Love the bistro. Patient is very happy here.

Meet the Team (2)

I joined the Avery Healthcare Family in 2019 having spent my whole working life in the care sector, from a retirement village to care homes.
Before joining Avery, I was an Administrator Assistant for another care provider.
After leaving school I went to college to complete my Level 2 and Level 3 in Health and Social care.
I would consider myself as kind, caring, hard worker and empathetic. In my spare time, I like to spend time with my family, read and go for walks.
I am very proud to be part of the Darwin court family.

As Michelle says 'I believe a care home should be warm, welcoming and fun, not just for the residents but for the staff and visitors alike'.
