My Mum has been in the care home for just over a year now. She has settled in well, thanks to the team of carers, supervisors and managers all working together for the residents. Mum suffers from vascular dementia, so can sometimes be a handful. The team are excellent dealing with her and making her feel safe and good about herself. I feel so happy knowing that she is well cared for. When I visit, everyone is friendly and helpful. Well done Team Bowbridge Court!

My observation of the carers is that they treat my mum with respect.

The activities provided are varied, although Mum is becoming more reluctant to join in. She does however, go to the dining room for lunch.

It's about a year since Kate came to live in Bowbridge Court. She was recovering from a hip fracture.

She has settled in well and is well cared for. As her brother and Health & Welfare POAttorney I am well pleased with her situation. She is very happy in her current environment.

Reply from Debbie Cook, Home Manager at Bowbridge Court

Thank you for your lovely words, Kate has become quite a social lady, and interacts with both staff and other residents and this is a joy to see.

Following a dementia diagnosis in 2023 my wife Sara finally became a permanent resident at Bowbridge Court in March '26. Such a major change in residency & care responsibility was inevitably stressful & upsetting for both Sara & our family.

At that time the staff offered kindness & understanding & reassurance when we experienced "bumps in the road". The experienced staff deliver care in a modern spacious environment providing community & variable privacy for those who prefer to. Sara is safe and for the most part content.

This care home is a lovely, homely place with lots of lovely caring staff. They cannot do enough for my stepdad who has only been there for a couple of weeks. The lady on reception is amazing with lots of support and kind words. Also the manager has given lots of support and help during this time. Nothing is too much trouble from management to carers.

I would recommend this lovely care home to anyone who is having to make the difficult decision of a family member having to go into care.

The staff and care at Bowbridge are exceptional. How well they know the residents, how they interact with them and care for them is heart warming. They are also so welcoming and caring to the family and friends of the residents. My Dad is very happy here and that is incredibly reassuring for his family.

We have felt so grateful for the care our 93 year old mother has received at Bowbridge Care Home. The staff are amazing and the home has a wonderful friendly, welcoming feel to it. It is always clean and tidy and both staff and residents seem happy. Communication with family members is exceptional and the home put on an incredible variety of daily activities for residents. Having an on site hairdresser is also a very welcome service the care home provides.

My mother has been at the home for 3 1/2 years. Her level of engagement has been declining. I am able to alter my visits to best suit my mother as I recieve a newsletter with diary for the week.
I now like to meet my mother for the coffe and cake on a Friday. It is a good opportunity to see other resident families and staff.

I like the initiative of staff sharing their training regarding dementia

My husband had 4 weeks respite care in Bowbridge Court where he was extremely well looked after. He went in as an emergency due to recovering from double pneumonia and struggling to walk. The staff encouraged him (with patience) to walk and join in the activities, which he came to enjoy. The cleanliness and the food were extremely good, also the laundry dept kept his clothes clean. He always looked nice when I visited. He was treated with kindness and nothing was too much trouble from the staff.

I visited my brother who has been at Bowbridge Court for 3 weeks on a trail months period. He was clean, well dressed, sitting in the lounge where he likes chatting with other residents. We went out to the YMCA for lunch and had a good afternoon. It was good to see him in good spirits, and the staff were most helpful, both to him and to me.

Dad was discharged from hospital to Bowbridge Court after two weeks of being unwell. He was frail, tired and completely overwhelmed. On arrival at the home, we were greeted by the friendly staff, who immediately got to work setting dad in to his room. I now able to have lunch with dad and I left him with a real sense of relief, knowing that he was in safe hands. I am so grateful for the care and attention to detail from the amazing team. Thank you!
