My Mother ages 90 had a recent fall and could no longer look after herself. We visited 5 care homes in the local area and this was by far the best. The staff were amazing from start to finish - it was faultless. My Mother is now settled and is very happy. The food, care, and friendliness have made a
difficult transition so much easier. Thank you.

My friend lives alone in a small village. She underwent a replacement knee operation. Therefore, chose to recuperate a little before going home. She was well supported by staff and the room had everything she needed.

Helpful two-week stay made me appreciate that whilst supportive and lovely staff, I'm not quite ready for a care home yet! Enjoyed the activities.

Bowbridge Court has provided excellent care not just for my wife but also for the rest of her family at a time which might otherwise have proved daunting and very upsetting for us all. All of our questions and special requests have been addressed in such a way that my wife's unease has been minimised.

We have total confidence in the staff at Bowbridge Court to care for Mum in the best, most compassionate and professional way that's possible. Her needs and wants are always addressed as far as possible and with consideration and concern for her personal dignity. It seems as though the staff here are
both dedicated and happy in their work, and this shows in the way they interact with Mum - exactly as we would wish.

Excellent service and care of my mum. Responding well to change in Mum's needs. Lovely, friendly staff.
Only slight issues with cleanliness around Muim's chair and the often messy state of her wardrobe.

I recently spent three weeks at Bowbridge Court after a hip replacement operation. Everyone was so kind and encouraging that it helped my recovery enormously. The place was spotlessly clean, the food was excellent and the staff helped to make residents feel part of one big family, whilst caring for
them as individuals. The care I received was excellent and I have no hesitation in recommending Bowbridge Court.

My dad needed emergency respite so I contacted Bowbridge Court, their management went above and beyond to visit him in the hospital and get him into the home as quickly as possible (within 36 hours!). After only a couple of days, my dad looked well and healthy again. Their management assisted in all
aspects of helping us as a family to get assessments and GP info when no one else would help! Their staff were so kind, attentive, and patient and looked after my dad amazingly well, all our questions were answered and my dad left after two weeks in their care looking like a new man.
I can't recommend the care home, Bowbridge Court, Newark enough and if a time comes that my dad needs full-time care Bowbridge Court would be the care home I'd want to take him, they were amazing, 5-star review!

Mum moved into Bowbridge Court Care Home four years ago. She quickly settled and always felt safe and well cared for by all carers and staff. Mum's passing away at the age of 102 years was eased for us, her family, by the wonderful care, love and support we received from every member of the care home.
Our heartfelt thanks to you all.

This care home is clean and well-lit, with several pleasant rooms for activities, one of which opened to the gardens. A cheerful place where residents help as members of a gardening club. The staff are cheerful, helpful, hardworking and above all, caring.

I visited my grandma at Bowbridge Court yesterday, it was actually her 91st Birthday. My son and I both felt Grandma was being very well cared for. It was clear to see that all the staff care about the residents, treat them respectfully and ensure they are happy. We were particularly impressed with
the lovely garden room, cinema room and relaxing outdoor area. Finally how kind to bake Grandma a Birthday cake - thank you!
Reply from Terri Kidd, PR Executive at Bowbridge CourtFirstly, many happy returns to your grandma! We never need much of an excuse for cake but we definitely think a 91st birthday is a good one. We are so pleased that you were impressed with our facilities and hope that you can pop by to take advantage sometime soon – we will get the popcorn machine on!

Current Review Score: 9.8 (9.754)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.754) out of 10 for Bowbridge Court is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 33 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 33 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.754 for Bowbridge Court is calculated as follows: ( (302 Excellents x 5) + (81 Goods x 4) + (6 Satisfactorys x 3) + (1 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 390 Ratings = 4.754
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Bowbridge Court is based on 33 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 54 registered maximum number of service users is 10.8, which has been reached with 33 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
