The Mayfields Care Home

When she first came to the home, she had lost weight and struggled to eat or want to eat. Staff observed, and she was admitted to the hospital after receiving care and returning to the home. She has thrived and is eating well/drinking, with the kindness and continuity of their care and observations. Staff are always there to help with any concerns.

After visiting several care homes The Mayfields stood out as the best home to provide all the needs of my friend who is now in permanent residency. Being a very sociable person he enjoys all the activities and also the choice of meals. Staff are particularly helpful with his physical needs and mental well-being. In fact, my friend tells me he is happy to be in The Mayfields and enjoys the company of other residents and staff.

A really lovely, friendly and clean care home. The staff welcomed us and have been very helpful while our friend settled into his new life at the home. He is now very happy and enjoys all the many activities they provide.

This week I pooped into see Dad. The resident's meeting was taking place. I sat for a while and listened to the staff asking the residents where they would like to go to on an outing. I was so pleased to see how the residents were listened to, as they each said where they would like to go. Nothing was dismissed and plans were discussed to make things happen. Well done everyone!

When my wife had to go into care with dementia, we had the offer of four different homes. I chose The Mayfields Care Home and my experience to date confirms I made the right choice. Residents and their visitors are treated with great respect and nothing is too much trouble. Activities are well thought-out and my wife loves being part of the 'helping hands' scheme. A big thank you to all the staff who work so hard for the benefit of the residents.

The home is exceptionally clean. Staff are very helpful and considerate. My mother is in great hands.

All I can say is, I walk out of Mayfields and feel happy my mum is safe and sound. Excellent choice I have made for my mum's twilight years.

Overall, it is very comforting that my father is in a fantastic environment. The staff are all so pleasant and very caring.

My mother-in-law is settled and very happy at Mayfields. All staff, from the seniors to maintenance, carers, cleaning and so on are kind and caring. They seem to go that extra mile. Thank you everyone at The Mayfields.

I enjoyed this visit to see my grandmother in her special home very much as I live overseas. I have heard some wonderful stories from her and all of the stories are true! The staff, in particular, clearly knew my grandmother well - her likes and dislikes. This was a special connection that was clear. She is happy, comfortable and well cared for, which makes me feel confident she is in the very best place possible. Thank you to everyone at The Mayfields who make this a real home, with love.

The Mayfields staff put on a magnificent birthday party for my mother's 100th celebration. They all went above and beyond to make the day special for the whole family.

My wife is seriously disabled, physically and mentally. Can think of nothing to find fault with. When in her room she was checked on frequently and in the lounge, there are always staff in attendance who respond immediately to the resident's needs. Impressed with the way the staff engage in activities with the residents. The staff kept in touch with me or my daughter to inform us of all changes to her condition and discussions or suggestions. I think the Mayfields deserve our excellent rating.

My mother spent the last year of her life at The Mayfields. Sadly, she died there very recently. The staff could not have cared for her more carefully and kindly. They included us in all the difficult decisions and always respected our wishes and choices. We felt very well looked after, including in her final days.

We have been very impressed with The Mayfields from the minute we walked in on our first visit. The home is purpose-built and really welcoming with all the rooms and communal areas having a lovely spacious but relaxing and comfortable feel. My father's care has been first-rate and the staff treat him with kindness and respect. He frequently says how good the food is and how well he is looked after. It is clear the care staff have spent significant time with him and his room is always left in an immaculate state. They know him well and are aware of his idiosyncrasies. Although he finds it hard to concentrate, the entertainment staff are brilliant and spend time on a one-to-one basis, finding out his interests! My father is a wanderer and the security of the building has kept him safe. Every member of staff is cheerful and smiley, which generates a feel-good factor. I have total confidence in the good management of the home. The communication is excellent and any documentation requests are completed in a timely manner. I feel that all the staff work together to make the home a special place where my father is able to live in comfort. Thank you very much!

The management and staff of Mayfields have always been very welcoming, friendly, very caring, understanding and supportive. I would certainly recommend this home to anyone.

I moved my mum here after being in a dreadful home which traumatised her. Mayfields is lovely, the staff are excellent and always smiling and chatty. Mum's room is spacious and light and very clean. Everyone including the receptionist is helpful and kind. Mum has settled in well. Thank goodness for this home.

Dad spent the last four years at Mayfield's and peacefully passed away in March. I cannot thank the staff enough for the exemplary care Dad received, and nothing was too much trouble for them. Dad thoroughly enjoyed the activities and all the entertainment, especially the music and dancing. Once again thank you everyone as I know Dad was extremely happy with you.

Mum has been in Mayfields now for one week's respite. Lovely place, very attentive and caring staff. Lovely room with courtyard view.

Due to lockdown, I have not been able to experience the full aspects of the home but from what I have seen, I am pleased with it all.
