The home felt like a top-class hotel, which then it lost the "at home" feel. Maybe because my parents were only there for a month. Otherwise, we would have tried to make their rooms much more familiar and cosier.

From the first (November 2013) to the last (August 2019), the carers, staff and nurses looked after, cared for and loved my mother. She felt safe, secure and comfortable and therefore, as her only child, so did I. The medical staff were knowledgeable and supportive as were all those who cared for my mother. My abiding memory of Gracewell of Frome will be that mum was comfortable and that all those who looked after her went way beyond the call of duty. Thank you.

Gracewell of Frome is surely a shining example of how all care homes should be.

My father has had 18 months care in Gracewell of Frome. He died there in 1oth May 2019. In all that time, he was very well looked after and very happy there. His 3 children visited him often and can vouch for his high regard of the care home's facilities and staff. We are all 3 of us very impressed with Gracewell. I would highly recommend Gracewell's, the rooms are well equipped and comfortable. There are always activities going on here, hairdressers, cinema. Lovely garden to sit in.

My dad lived here for just over a year. He was very happy and well cared for. All the staff are friendly and helpful and nothing was ever too much trouble. Sadly, he passed away recently but the caring and support has continued.

The premises are 5* and the staff are very friendly and welcoming. The care is excellent as is the coffee.

My family is thankful that our mother is looked after with the utmost kindness and dignity at Gracewell over the past year.

Gracewell is a well run residential home. The staff are excellent, caring and compassionate. I always feel welcome and am impressed by how friendly and polite all staff are to residents and visitors alike.

Care assistants are lovely and look after my Mother very well. I like the activities which Mother sometimes joins in with.

Overall Gracewell of Frome provides excellent care for the residents. My wife has been there for four years and during that time I think she is happy there. Suffering from dementia, it is impossible to have a meaningful conversation with her. As the care home manager and assistant manager have only been recently appointed, it is too early to give a definitive opinion of them, but I trust that the care and affection shown by the carers and nurses toward the residents will carry on as before.

I would recommend this to anyone seeking a kind, caring and well-managed facility.

Following a broken hip at 96, Mum made the brave decision to give up independent living and move to a home in Somerset - two things she previously ruled out. The move to Gracewell was seamless, thanks to all the staff involved and Mum has settled well in her suite. Now her pictures and personal possessions are in place, it feels a lot like home. All the staff, without exception, are helpful and friendly and the family feel welcome at every visit, including the great-grandchildren who love the treats from the coffee shop.

My stay here for the past year in accommodation and staff has been excellent. Could not have had better care and service.

My experience during my husband's stay was the care and compassion shown to him. He had a major stroke so no speech. Also, love and care shown to me at this very difficult time.

Like the foyer with coffee etc. Feels more like a country hotel than an institution. Garden pleasant to walk around and sit in. Like individual garden areas outside the patio doors.

The staff here are outstanding at every level - no hint of anyone "being in the wrong job". One carer appeared with flowers from her own garden for my mother on her birthday.

A huge plus is the way in which the health of residents is closely monitored by one of the most forward-looking medical practices in the country.

Ancillary services such as chiropody, manicure and hair styling are readily available in the fully equipped salon or in the resident's own room. Visiting professionals here are absolutely up to the standard set by the home's own staff.

Of course, nothing is ever perfect and one would wish that the layout of the residents' own rooms made it easier to manoeuvre wheelchairs and other necessary equipment, although the carers manage this with good grace.
