Haven is a stunning home with fabulous spaces to enjoy, from beautiful gardens and ensuite bedrooms, to a hair salon, welcoming lounges and a library.

But it’s the team, who are devoted to enriching the lives of their residents, that make it feel like home. The way they support family and friends to be part of life in the home is very special, giving it a very warm, family feel. The staff are passionate about ensuring their residents are doing the things they love in an environment which is as close to home as it possibly can be.

And the community are truly embraced into life at Haven. At the recent 10th anniversary party, many of the guests were the loved ones and friends of residents, neighbours and community volunteers. And the Vicar of Hatch End even blessed the home as part of the celebrations, which also included a delicious barbecue, a magician and live music.

There is so much to do at Haven, from music, pamper sessions, garden games and gentle exercise sessions, to bespoke individual activities and reminiscence sessions.

Providing residential and dementia care, the team also provide respite care breaks, which can be booked in advance. These are ideal for carers who need to plan a short break themselves, knowing their loved one is in safe hands.

The home has established wonderful relationships with local schools and colleges, embracing youngsters into life at Haven, whether through work experience placements or inviting them to perform music or dances for the residents.

This summer the gardens were completely transformed, and the residents loved taking part in the gardening club, where they grew their own fruit and vegetables, which they harvested to use in the kitchens.

And mealtimes are a real highlight of the day, with delicious home-cooked cuisine, from roast dinners with all the trimmings and fish and chip Fridays, to lighter options and home-baking for afternoon tea.

Our weekly fees are individual to each of our residents and are subject to a pre-admission assessment, which is required to understand the level of care and support needed. Our 2025 weekly care fees for residential care start from £1732 but may be in the region of 30% more*. This depends on your care needs and the type of bedroom that is right for you, from our standard rooms through to our premium bedroom options.

My brother moved into Haven Care Home only 2 weeks ago. Settled in very quickly after having to move from another home that was closing down. Staff have all been very helpful and always let me know if there is a problem. Lovely home, beautifully kept and so far no problems.
Very happy with it.

I have seen four other care homes over the last ten years, this is by far the best. The building is light, airy and spacious. The staff is attentive helpful and caring with very few acceptions.
There is a genuine effort made to engage with the residents, although sadly some don't appreciate the work
put in, the staff keeps going.

Have worked in four residential homes as an admin assistant and activities coordinator and there is no doubt that Haven Residential Care Home is by far the best. Very lovely carers, very friendly manager and excellent food. There is nothing to dislike about Haven and would have no hesitation to recommend
it to my friends.

My mother has been a resident for nearly eight years and I have always found the care to be of good quality. With a couple of exceptions, they have always been kind, respectful and helpful to Mum and her family. Over the years, there have been several changes in the management team which has been disruptive
but the present manager, assistant manager, the office staff and reception are all excellent. I would like to see Mum's room cleaned more thoroughly.

My husband has settled into his new home quickly and effortlessly. All the staff, without exception, are very kind and helpful. He is well looked after, and nothing is too much trouble. A very good menu and a lovely, comfortable room. Visiting is easy, and they made him a birthday tea with a beautiful
homemade birthday cake. We are very pleased with the Haven.

Haven has a very homely relaxed atmosphere. All the staff are very attentive to the resident's needs and nothing is too much trouble. They were very polite and caring showing respect and dignity to everyone. The bedrooms were all ensuite and cleaned daily. There was no smell you sometimes get in other
homes. The daily activities were well organised and looked forward to and enjoyed by everyone. There was a wide variety of meals and the menu appeared to cater for everyone's taste. I would not hesitate to recommend this residential home to other people.

My mother went into Haven Residential Care Home for respite care with some complex needs. The manager was amazing, from the initial visit to my mother's actual stay, corresponding with me to ensure all her needs were highlighted. The staff at Haven all understood my mother's needs and go above and beyond
to support all residents and do so with genuine care. The residents at Haven were happy at all times I visited and I popped in without notification to ensure the care was consistent and it was.
My mother's personal care was adhered to and there was a good choice from the food menu.
Most importantly, my mother made some lovely friends and enjoyed her short time there.

You looked after my mother for two weeks respite care, while my father was in hospital. She was taken in at short notice and well looked after even though she didn't want to be there. She was well cared for.

Generally speaking, this care home is of a very high standard as with most things there are a few teething problems. Since I have come straight from the hospital to have convalescence, at this moment most important is an extremely uncomfortable bed, since my condition forces me to lie on my back and
not be able to turn in any direction the mattress needs to be a good one, this one is old and hard. Unfortunately in the matter of food, I guess they must be working to a very tight budget, it's adequate perhaps for a generally fit person, but not suitable for someone who needs better quality fish, meat and veg.

My mother came for two weeks of respite care, we extended this for another two weeks and made it full-time. Mum is cared for and her dementia condition is understood. We are very happy with Haven, the team leaders and the manager/admin. The building is well maintained and we know Mum is safe! Thank

I have answered this before and I still find Haven a delightful and caring home. The carers should have cotton uniforms for the summer - only a suggestion and thinking of them. They are a fantastic team.

It has been a very difficult year and a bit with Covid restrictions, the staff have done all they could to make sure we could still contact our loved ones with window visits, pod visits, phone calls, video calls and now able to come in with PPE in rooms. My dear friend is poorly now and on palliative
care but everyone has made it easy for me to see her and she is always very clean and tidy and well cared for. Thank you to everyone and much appreciation.

My career in adult social care began in 2011, fresh out of school, as a kitchen assistant in a local care home. I progressed to a chef, where I found joy in engaging with residents, so much so I transitioned into a care role.


That decision changed everything. I found my calling and steadily progressed through senior care positions, eventually becoming a care manager in 2024 at the same organisation where I started.


I'm thrilled to join Sanctuary Care as a Home Manager, an opportunity that aligns perfectly with my passion for quality care and values. I'm excited to continue growing and making a meaningful difference alongside our dedicated team.
