Hamble Heights provides the highest levels of 24-hour, personalised elderly care available; including dementia, nursing and residential care. An in-house Wellbeing team support residents to enjoy a range of events and activities, to keep them entertained and offer them the chance to socialise, either one to one or within a group setting.

Hamble Heights’ Wellbeing Team has been recognised for its creativity, enthusiasm and dedication in bringing smiles to residents' faces every day. It was the winner of the regional award for Best Activities Coordinator in The Great British Care Awards (January 2016), and two-time winner for Evidence of Outstanding Activities in the Ladder to the Moon Awards (September 2016, 2017).

The modern and purpose-built home was designed to put residents’ needs first. For example, all rooms are extra-large, private and have an en-suite wet-room. The communal spaces are all furnished to a high standard. The emphasis is on comfort, to make it feel like a home from home. Hamble Heights offers a great community feel with comfortable lounges, bistro dining rooms, a bar, and even a hair salon. The home's professional chefs ensure appealing, varied, healthy and nutritious meals are offered, with resident's encourage to request their favourites and asked for feedback.

The residents’ rooms are fully furnished and kept spotlessly clean, and there is plenty of space to personalise the room if residents wish to bring their own furniture, pictures or ornaments.

From the moment Mum entered the care home in August 2022. she was treated with the utmost love, care and respect from every member of staff. Although she was bedridden she received every care and attention and was exceedingly happy there.

My Mother has been a resident at Hamble Heights for 17 months. We chose the home as its near the family and is purpose built. However, the most important reasons are the wonderful care staff and nurses and the excellent food. My Mother tells me that there is always an alternative dish served if you
would rather have this. The activities organiser is great and very innovative, although it is difficult for those with a visual impairment to take part in too many activities. They gave my Mum a fabulous 100th birthday party! I mentioned the care staff and nurses above but of course thanks and praise should also go to all the other staff in the home who help to make everything run smoothly.

My husband stayed in Hamble Heights for a few weeks to give me a break from caring for him 24/7. I am pleased with the care he received and found all the staff I met friendly and helpful. I hope he will be able to have another "holiday" there.

Dad has been here since August 2020 having been evacuated From Southampton Hospital during the first wave of covid. We did not have a choice of where he went due to covid but my nephew works for the patient transport service & said whenever he dropped off patients or picked them up the home was clean
and fresh smelling and staff were friendly and helpful. The home and staff have been amazing. To begin with he was able to participate in activities that they put on which was brilliant. My favourite was the locks and bolts board. So good for the dexterity. Dad has advanced dementia and is now bed bound and unable to communicate at all but he is always clean shaven, nails clipped and in bed with appropriate pillows etc. the nurses and carers have always been kind and I thank them every week that they take such good care of Dad. I am a nurse myself but Im not sure I could do this role.

Mum has been resident here for a few months now and is settling in very well. The staff are great and she's very complimentary about them and also the food. We had fears she would not settle but now she's made some friends, she is very much more relaxed.
She also seems to have a new lease of life
since settling in here, which is absolutely great.
Love the fact that dogs are taken in to see the residents as she loves that. It is also great that the family can take theirs in to see her.

What can I say. Absolutely excellent home and the most caring team of staff that I have ever had the pleasure to know.
My father had a particularly terrible type of dementia and like all people living with dementia was tortured by some of the awful debilitating side effects. Staff always treated him
with dignity and respect and made our family feel like part of their family.
Dad sadly passed away at the end of January but it is only now that I feel that I can speak about the experience.
The Manager and the deputy manager were just fantastic and let us stay with my father all day, every day and allowed us too use an empty room so that we could catch up on sleep but all be close by.
There were just the most amazing team and he died a very peaceful, painless death with all of his family by his side.
This home is outstanding and staff always go the extra mile to ensure that residents and their families are made to feel welcome and included.

My husband is 64 years old and suffers with Parkinson's and Dementia. Sadly, in 2020 it became impossible for me to continue caring for him and giving him the level of support he needs. After a stay in hospital, he was transfereds to Hamble Heights, and although the choice of home was out of my hands
due to Covid, I can truly say that he is in the best care home ever.
Staff go above and beyond to make sure the residents are happy and entertained on a daily basis. At what is a horrendous time they have given me strength and supported us both to get through the challenges that this awful disease has thrown at us. I feel able to call them anytime of day or night, for a chat or sometimes just cry on the phone to them, and know that they will always be happy to listen. The staff have become our family. The home is spotlessly clean, the rooms are large and bright, the garden is lovely but it is the staff that make this home exceptional.

My husband has been in Hamble Heights since April 20201. He sadly passed away in January 2022. The manager and all the staff were so wonderful to us both and our family. They went above and beyond all our expectations and supported us through this awful time. We were able to stay with my husband until
he passed away. We will be eternally grateful to all at Hamble Heights.

My Gran was here for two years. At the start it was brilliant and she was well looked after. However, that soon changed once the first manager left (there were 5 during her time there).
She did not have dementia but was put on a floor where she would have other residents coming into her room day and
night and even climbing into bed with her and stealing her items. Being told there wasn’t enough staff or they are busy so she would have to use her bed pad for the toilet and not give the correct medication.
There are a few carers who are genuinely good and care for residents but it sadly doesn’t outweigh the downfalls.
There was hardly any communication during covid and we weren’t always told about her care including her end of life.

Nice modern care home with a holistic approach to the meaning of care. Relatives are encouraged to participate in their relative's care/well-being plan and to become close associates of the home and staff. Very impressed with the team spirit too. Regardless of function, all staff make it their business
to show an interest in the residents - and their kin!

My father was a resident here for nearly two years. The standards declined dramatically in 2020. There was a history of falls, being left in need of the toilet even when he called for help, missed medications and generally a lack of individual, personalised care.
Social services put a safeguarding
order around my father (quite an achievement when we were paying approx £6000 a month for his care), as they were so concerned about the care he was receiving and the CQC have subsequently highlighted failings my father sadly experienced first hand. He has thankfully improved in his new home when they have people who administer medication on time and make sure he has plenty of fluids.
I am sure an insincere reply will appear, offering a meeting, but if they were genuinely concerned, they had all of Lockdown to work on care plans and improve standards and staff training.
If you care about your loved one please put them in a home that cares, which is not this one!

Absolutely Awful!
Please think long and hard before placing a loved one here.
My father was here for 20 months, initially, it was good, but then there was a change of management/ownership. Most of the long-serving staff quickly left. There were at least four changes of the home manager in a matter
of months. High staff turnover, high use of agency staff was a real issue.
My father had to be safeguarded by social services for his own safety, the home missed his important medications on at least three occasions and he suffered numerous falls. There were other issues too long to list here.
Finally, Dad was admitted to the hospital as he was extremely ill. He was in hospital for three weeks thereafter we took the decision to move his care home, which was traumatic and very disruptive for an elderly vulnerable chap.
Dad was paying nearly £6,000 a month to be safeguarded!
The management didn't even apologise for everything that had happened.

Mum had a lovely two-week respite stay at Hamble Heights. She was cared for and made to feel very much at home, making it easier for me to enjoy my holiday without worrying about mum while I was away. Having viewed several care homes for Mum, from the moment we walked through the doors of Hamble Heights we knew this was the one. Rather than a care home, this appears more like a grand hotel, there is a 'Bistro' on each floor rather than a dining hall. Everything is clean and tidy, the rooms are large,
light and airy with their own wet room.
The team of staff are friendly and caring and constantly try to keep the residents entertained, unfortunately, mum has been a resident during the lockdown and we have not been able to visit, but the team at Hamble Heights have made every effort to keep us informed and in contact via skype.
Although mum was only a resident for a few months, having recently passed away, I would have no hesitation recommending Hamble Heights.

My husband was transferred from the hospital with myeloma during Covid. He passed away peacefully at 7:20 pm on 1/5/20. No visiting was allowed. No words would be enough to describe how he was cared for - I contacted the nursing home at least four times a day and I was dealt with very sympathetically.
During his last few hours I was there, to say they were understanding, caring and outstanding in every way would be an understatement.

I would like to thank everyone at the nursing home for the wonderful care Dad received.
The professionalism, kindness and support helped during this really difficult time. Dad was treated with respect and dignity. The rooms were clean, and the food was amazing. All reception staff were helpful and
kind.
The only negative was the e-mail I sent to the home manager was not replied to; I think this was disrespectful.

Hamble Heights is an impressive care home, the main reason is the personnel. From the reception and admin staff right through to the care teams both you and your loved one are made to feel special. No request is too much bother and the nursing team especially treat residents with compassion, kindness
and patience. My father was always clean and dressed in smart clothes even on the many unannounced calls which I made to the home. Each floor has a separate care team which promotes closer interaction with each resident.
Each floor has a spacious lounge informally arranged so the "chairs around the wall" scenario often found in other care homes is avoided - a nice touch.
Rooms are large with generous en suite facilities. There is a choice of menus served restaurant-style.
I would not hesitate to recommend this care home.
