Iffley Residential and Nursing Home

She has settled very well. Her room, the common parts and gardens are lovely. We could not be happier.

There is no doubt in my mind that facilitating dad's move here was one of the best things I ever did for him. Sadly, he died recently, but each of those very special staff will hold a permanent place in my heart.

My dad went into this home earlier this year. He has settled in very well, he now calls it home. The management and staff are brilliant with him. I find them all very caring and helpful; they always make me feel very welcome. Nothing is too much trouble for them. Love seeing Dad so happy.

We have received excellent care and have no concerns about the care of my mother-in-law during the Covid-19 crisis. They have kept us fully informed. They have also maintained a very professional and confidential approach during what has been a very difficult time for them. I would have no hesitation in recommending this care home to others.

I have always found Iffley Home to be of fantastic benefit to my mum. The management and staff are always of positive attitude, out mums needs first in every situation. We as a family have nothing but admiration for the carers and we are made to feel welcome on every visit. Nothing is too much trouble and if we have concerns they are dealt with in professional and a polite way.

I have without exception been impressed by the professionalism and friendliness of the staff. My mother could not be in "safer" hands. I would like to express my eternal thanks to all the staff at Sanctuary Care Iffley.

The home has always been very good about infection control etc. During this pandemic the home has been exceptional in caring for the residents, keeping them safe and happy. Totally support what one carer said: 'It's because we care'.

My mother has lived in this home for over a year, and my father spent the last five months of his life on the Nursing floor. They had different needs, and they have both been very well looked after. The building is modern and purpose-built for old and disabled people; the decor is also cheerful, and it is in a pleasant, peaceful part of Oxford, conveniently situated for local transport. It is well organised, with separate floors for Residential, Dementia and nursing care, which enables it to meet a wide variety of care needs. This was especially helpful with my mother, who has dementia - she was admitted on the Residential floor, and moved to the Dementia floor when she got worse. They were a couple that live there, but are on different floors, the staff always make it possible for them to see each other every day. The staff are kind, helpful and look after the residents well. They keep relatives informed of any problems. We are glad that my mother lives there.

Everyone - managers. carers, reception and office staff have been unfailingly helpful, kind and supportive.

A calm and friendly atmosphere, caring staff who are always approachable. Mum has been a resident for over 6 years and is very content and well looked after. We are extremely happy with her care.

I visited my mum on Exeter Ward on 1st March 2019 and as always, had a very warm welcome from all staff members I encountered from my arrival in reception onwards. Mum, who is 100, has been looked after with great kindness and respect at Iffley for about 6 years now and is very contented. The atmosphere on Exeter Ward is very upbeat and the staff deal with the occasional challenging moment very calmly and confidently. You pick your staff well, and they stay, which says a lot for your organisation and results in fantastic continuity and genuine caring relationships between staff and patients. I love the way in which mum is allowed to live her days at her own pace, for example, whether she gets up at 6 a.m., lunchtime, or not at all. The attention to liquid intake is very reassuring, and recently mum has been provided with a special chair which I'm sure she finds very welcome. The whole family is very grateful that mum is getting such wonderful care in her final years.

Choosing care is hard and every elderly person is different. For those with capacity and mobility, good food, facilities and activities are important. But for those with dementia, a calm environment and caring staff are vital — and Iffley’s are great. Also, our dad loved us visiting, so 24-hour access, a central location, good bus links and on-site parking mattered more than landscaped gardens and cordon bleu cookery.

All staff are to be commended for their ongoing kindness, support and patience. This applies not only to their care for my godmother but the help they give to her visitors and myself. Communication with me is timely and appropriate and staff's smiles and positive approach are much appreciated in what can often be stressful situations. I am very glad to have chosen the Iffley home.

The staff are fantastic, nothing is too much and you could see by the way they were with the residents, that they were provided with care. Very warm, clean and friendly. It is a credit to the manager who clearly creates the environment which makes it the special place that it is.

We have been very impressed by the love put into the care and the care taken to understand each resident and their wishes and needs. Staff are very patient and courteous and problems are addressed quickly. Staff seem to be happy in their work and willing to go the extra mile.

There is a good continuity of staff. Other homes seem to have a high turnover of staff.

An amazing manager always made sure any concerns were listened to and addressed immediately and with consideration. The nursing staff were excellent - as well as the maintenance, cleaning - lovely meals - and those wonderful, wonderful carers who truly cared for my father.
