Foxbridge House has proven an ideal environment for my mum in law. She had previously been in a care home which was not sufficient to her needs and where she was not happy. The move to Foxbridge has been transforming, she has room to walk at will, which has helped with her general health and fitness
and the staff are friendly and kind. She does join in with the activities. When asked she will tell you that she likes the home and she is so obviously content to be there. She seems to be much more alert and engaged despite her advancing dementia. The facilities are comfortable with a variety of places to sit and interact, from the cafe to the lounge to the cinema and safe garden areas. What you won't experience here is a cramped lounge full of ranks of seated old people staring blankly at a blaring TV screen. The food is high quality, fresh cooked and varied and the home is well run with qualified nursing staff on hand when needed. I would highly recommend it.

I am writing this on behalf of my father who came to visit the home looking for a suitable accommodation for my mother who has Alzheimer's. He was so very impressed with how clean and luxurious the home was. He said the staff were very friendly and he felt confident mum would be well cared for. Unfortunately
for us the home is too far from us and dad felt the journey to visit mum would be too much. Other than the distance, he highly recommends this home.

My wife was admitted to Foxbridge House on the 31st of July 2024. Unfortunately, she was more ill than we had realised and she passed away on the 23rd of August 2024. During her short time spent in the home she was exceptionally well looked after. The staff there are superb at their jobs and my wife
was as happy as she could have been considering that her health was failing each day. The home is to be recommended.

My father recently stayed for an 8-week period of respite and I could not be more pleased with the care he received. The home itself has a wonderfully spacious and airy atmosphere which made every visit feel welcoming and comfortable. One of our favourite features was the lovely garden, a sanctuary
where we could go for daily walks and enjoy fresh air with his wheelchair. Cherry's Cafe on the ground floor was another high, it provided a perfect spot to sit and relax away from the residents' lounge where we could enjoy a cup of tea and a slice of cake. It's such a thoughtful touch that made a big difference to our experience. Placing a loved one in a care home is never easy, but knowing that my dad was in such safe caring hands, gave us great peace of mind. The team here went above and beyond to make his stay as comfortable as possible. Thank you to everyone involved.

I arranged for my wife's discharge from the hospital to Froxbridge House. The room she was given was very spacious with excellent full-length windows onto an outside seating area. The facilities at Foxbridge House are first class. The staff are always welcoming and supportive and the food/menu choices
are both excellent. The general atmosphere is light and comforting. All in all highly recommended.

After a brief visit to hospital, I was delighted to return home to Foxbridge House. Everybody is kind to me and very helpful, especially when I need a shower and toilet. Carers smile a great deal. The food and snacks are excellent. I wish that my carer would clean my glasses each morning. People welcome
my husband and are kind to him and let him help me at meal times.

On the 6th of June 2024, we celebrated D. Day with a party and live performances in the garden. The staff decorated the garden with bunting and we were served snacks and drinks in the sunshine. I enjoyed it very much what a wonderful day.

The way the home is set out is great the care is where you come in is laid out so everyone has enough space. The corridors are wide enough for people to pass if someone is in a wheel chair the garden is beautiful and well-kept. If there is a problem I see the nurse or management. Last month they had
the D Day celebration out in the garden and it was amazing.

Most of the staff are brilliant and caring but dad is not so keen on the night staff. Clean room dad and looked after. Have a joke and a laugh with some which is great and they are patient with him. The kitchen on our floor - cut and cutlery is really unclean. Would be good to have a variation on desserts,
always the same but on the whole nice food. The cafe downstairs is great plus dad loves selecting a cake as a treat. Also, the laundry is very good.

At Foxbridge House we hold ourselves to a high standard and appreciate all feedback that will help us to maintain and improve our standard of offering to residents, families, and visitors. Regarding the menu and food offerings, this was reviewed a couple of months ago with the involvement of residents to allow them the choice of what they would like to see on the menu. We would be more than happy to discuss this further and review the menus where possible to offer a broader choice. Please feel free to speak to the home manager directly should you wish to discuss your concerns further.

I enjoyed my two weeks of respite care at Foxbridge House. The staff have all been caring and helpful. The food was appetising and varied and always beautifully served. The only drawback was the very early timing of the evening meal at 5:00 pm which made the night seem very long. Presumably, this is
done in order to allow staff to finish at a reasonable time.

My mother has been a resident at Foxbridge House for 6 months and her overall health improved significantly within 2-3 weeks, I believe this was a combination of her weight and diet being monitored plus having 3 hot meals a day being available to her which are of a very high standard. The staff will
make tea for my mother throughout the day. Most importantly my mother has company throughout the day.
Everyone who works at Foxbridge House is cheerful and will always speak to you, not just on a care level but on a personal level too. My late father was a care resident, not at Foxbridge House, and the interaction with residents and family was not to the level I have experienced here.
The rooms are clean and the laundry service is very efficient.
My mother has direct access to a large patio area, as we move into summer this area is so valuable, there is also a large formal garden.
Above all, I feel my mother is safe and well cared for at Foxbridge House.

My father has been at Foxbridge House for nearly a year and is very happy there. He was very poorly when he first arrived but due to the excellent nursing, he is so much better.
The food is very good, like restaurant quality. All the staff and carers are very friendly and in my opinion genuine. The
care home itself is very well-furnished and clean. Visitors can get refreshments and lovely homemade cakes.

Current Review Score: 9.7 (9.672)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.7 (9.672) out of 10 for Foxbridge House is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 61 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 58 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.672 for Foxbridge House is calculated as follows: ( (532 Excellents x 5) + (135 Goods x 4) + (25 Satisfactorys x 3) + (13 Poors x 2) + (2 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 707 Ratings = 4.672
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Foxbridge House is based on 58 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 84 registered maximum number of service users is 16.8, which has been reached with 58 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Job Title: Home Manager

There are many different aspects of my role as Home Manager at Foxbridge House, but one of my favourites is the opportunity to meet and get to know residents and their families. It’s a huge privilege.

Every person we care for is at the heart of their care: they make decisions about how they want to be cared for, how they want to spend their day and live their life, and we support them to make that happen.

Central to achieving that is having a superb team. We have great people at Foxbridge House who are determined to do their best for residents, relatives and for each other. I’m here to support them to succeed, and Care UK supports me to succeed as well.

While this job is high-pressured and there’s a lot to juggle, the feeling at the end of the day of knowing that you’ve done the best job you can is second to none.
