Dad stayed at Gracewell for respite and settled in so well, he has now moved in permanently. I was invited to attend Dad's care review via 'Teams'. The staff were friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Dad looked happy and relaxed. It is a great comfort for me living overseas to know that he has company, is settled, engaged and well-cared-for in his lovely new home. I hope he will continue to be involved in activities for as long as he is able. Thanks everyone.
Thank you for taking the time to review Gracewell of Weymouth. Your feedback is really important to us, as is the care and well-being of all of our residents. We were delighted to have your father come to stay with us and are so pleased he has settled in well. Your kind words will be shared with the team.
As for many families, we have found this a very difficult time not being able to see our precious mum. As a family, we are, however, so comforted knowing that mum is receiving the most outstanding care. She is so well supported by the team... she always has a hat and scarf on, her trademark accessories and we can just tell (even on the difficult days) that she is being beautifully looked after. Not seeing her is hard but again the team has provided many opportunities for us to see mum via video calls. Whilst we can’t wait for 'normal' visiting to return, we are just so grateful that she is in such safe and caring hands.
Here at Gracewell of Weymouth, we have worked hard to ensure all of the residents receive the highest quality of care and security within our home. Thank you for your kind words, these will be shared with the team and we look forward to welcoming you back to our home soon.
Facilities excellent, care staff are friendly and approachable. Well organised activities and entertainment but unfortunately my mother is bed-bound. I would appreciate more contact with the nurse in charge on the floor rather than having to find her! Level of care satisfactory but staff change very frequently.

My review is really since March until present. I am so impressed with Gracewell of Weymouth. They have been so caring and professional through the whole pandemic/lockdown period. They have communicated how my father was and what was happening regularly. They have kept him safe and looked after him so well. So pleased. All the staff have been fantastic, can you pass on my wholehearted thanks. Great team, great job, thank you.

My Dad has been in this home for over a year now and I am very pleased with his care. Though he was adamant he didn't want to stay in the first few months, he has now settled in well. The staff have recently dealt very well with the difficult conditions brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Gracewell of Weymouth appreciate moving into a care home can be an unsettling time. This is why we take the time to engage with family members and friends of the resident to make the process as smooth as possible, to get to know the resident on a personal level. We are pleased your father has settled in well.
This is clearly one of the best if not the best care home in the area. Having experienced others of nearly similar standards we just can't find any fault with Gracewell. The staff are caring and concerned and interested in the residents and families. The management is on the ball and ready to help with anything. In the current Covid crisis they have also held their cool and done their absolute best for residents, be it a very difficult time for us all and in particular for some of the families. It's still not easy getting through this with the home upholding all current safety recommendations and there has been no visiting for the last eight weeks. By the use of multiple tablets and video calls, we have managed to at least get some contact with our mother who is suffering from dementia. So it's not easy to make sure she can look at the images and speak to us. However, some of these calls have kept us going even though at times Mum has been having very bad days. Thank you Gracewell.

I wish Gracewell of Weymouth had their own minibus to take my father out. He stayed for 3 weeks and only went out for an hour and a half in 3 weeks. This is what this home needs.

Excellent facilities and caring, helpful staff.
Here at Gracewell of Weymouth, we endeavour to provide the very best experience for our residents and their families. Thank you for taking the time to share your kind words with us. These will be shared with the team.
I have no hesitation in recommending Gracewell. The staff are all very welcoming, and the care assistants and nurses are so very patient and helpful towards residents and visitors.
The team here at Gracewell of Weymouth would firstly like to thank you for your kind words. We strive, as a team, to work closely with our residents so we can provide the very best care for each individual in our home.
I would have no hesitation in recommending Gracewell of Weymouth. Whenever I visited my father, whatever time of day, he was always clean and well dressed. He started off downstairs but within a few months, it was apparent that he would have to go upstairs, again this was carried out efficiently and without fuss. The staff were lovely. Very kind and considerate. If he needed adjustments to his medication they were the first to support it and get the Doctor in. Also, I would be the first to say my old dad wasn't always the easiest to deal with, but they did it respectfully and with courtesy. The rooms and facilities were very good. The dining room set out like a proper dining area so it kept clients feeling as though they mattered and it was not just "feeding time". The menu as well was most tempting. All in all, I was most satisfied with all the care my father received at Gracewell.
We are thrilled with your positive experience and are so glad your Father has settled in so well to Gracewell of Weymouth. We take great pride in delivering high-quality care and providing facilities to our residents. Your recognition of this is invaluable to our team, thank you.
Activities are varied and his "wish" to go back to the tank museum has been fulfilled recently. The visits by alpacas and ponies are one of his favourites.
Our team here at Gracewell of Weymouth are so grateful for your comments. Our activities co-ordinator and the teamwork hard to provide engaging and stimulating activities for all of our residents, we are so glad to hear the activities provided are one of your favourite elements of our home.
Whilst my mother was only a short term resident before, she sadly passed away. The care and compassion of all the staff was exceptional. Cannot imagine a more peaceful and gentle place. Thank you.
Firstly, please accept our sincere condolences for your recent loss and thank you for taking the time to share your experience of Gracewell of Weymouth – particularly at such a difficult time. The team here are so grateful that your mother had such a positive experience of the home and this extended to family members and friends.
The gardens have been used to good effect with BBQ's, musical entertainment, Dog shows and for just sitting and looking at the floral displays. As family members, we are welcomed and encouraged to take part in all that is going on. Well done Gracewell.

The menu day today is very varied and she has no complaints about the food.

We looked around at other care homes before we chose Weymouth for mum, we visited Gracewell several times before Mum actually moved in. We had a family lunch, joined in with activities to help Mum move from her home of 45 years to Gracewell. She has been there for 5 months now and it has been brilliant. Admission paperwork was simple and they checked we had claimed any financial assistance available for Mum which helped toward Mum's care. We then found with Mum's pensions that there was not a huge difference in cost compared to the average cost of a care home or having care in her own home. The facilities are excellent, modern, clean and well maintained and the staff are amazing. For us, it's been all the extras available that make Gracewell the best. The trips out, daily entertainment, activities, the garden, the cafe and the hairdresser on-site at a small extra cost, but Mum loves the chat and pamper. We can book and stay for a meal too. But the best thing is the staff's commitment to the residents. 5 star.

Mum had been at the care home for three years, her room was looking a little tired. I spoke to the nurse on the floor who assisted me and we changed a few things immediately. There were a few things that could not be rectified immediately, however, I spoke to the home admissions advisor who arranged for a new carpet with the week. Thank you to all involved.

The Gracewell of Weymouth Team
My mother and father were both at Gracewell. We have found that the staff are excellent and go above and beyond. Mother died, unfortunately here, but the staff that were on duty took such care with her. Father is still with you and the staff have been so caring to him. You run a wonderful home, with excellent staff.

Meet the Team (1)

I hold my Level 5 qualification in Leadership and Management, a diploma in adult nursing, and mentoring qualifications.
I decided to join Anning House because I wanted to be part of a well-respected, larger company that was part of the wider community where I live.
As a Home Manager, it’s important that I have empathy and am able to listen and lead by example. I always want to be a good role model and empower my team and others, treating everyone with respect. I went into nursing to make a difference; this can be a big impact or just the little things that make a difference in someone’s life. I’m still incredibly proud and happy to be able to continue to do this in my career every day.
Although I have a busy role at work, I like to keep busy outside of work too - I love supporting my husband when he’s playing in his band, going to nice restaurants to eat, entertaining family and friends at home, and going to the theatre, especially to see musicals.
