Salisbury Manor is your best-case scenario care home. The staff are wonderful, every single one, always so kind and thoughtful to residents and families. It is clean and bright. The homemade cakes are a bonus Most importantly I trust my granny is in kind hands, she is recognised for who she was and her needs are met for what she needs now.

The care given to my father over his final few months was outstanding. He was not always an easy patient, but the staff were unfailingly kind and cheerful. They made a difficult time as pleasant as possible for him and his family. The home is well-managed and always spotlessly clean, and the food is delicious! I would recommend Salisbury Manor.

The facilities at Salisbury Manor are top notch. The staff are wonderful, fully engaged with the residents and very caring. My mother is well looked after and as happy as her dementia permits. She is happy with the food provided (and seems to be putting on weight!). The gardens are improving and will be lovely for the summer. I would not hesitate to recommend this home to anyone.

My Mum went into this nursing home for respite care after we had checked out many in the area as we had such a bad experience with another one previously. All we wanted was for Mum to be treated as we would treat her when we cared for her at home. Immediately on walking in it felt more like a 5* hotel than a nursing home. There is a tea/coffee (and cake) seating area at the entrance for residents and guests alike. The rooms were immaculate and did not smell (as other homes had) Lunch is a 3-course meal which every day smelt amazing and I could have joined Mum if I had wanted to (for a very small fee). I imagine the chefs work very hard to prepare different options every day. The manager and staff were friendly, checking if Mum and I were ok. I actually felt happy when I left as I felt she was in good hands. As a family we know that when the time comes for our Mum to need more than respite care this is the home we would choose.

My mother has settled in so well and is so very happy. This place is so warm, friendly and professional, and the staff are amazing. My mother is happy and loves it here. As her daughter, it's fantastic to visit her and know she's being looked after so well. The good is fantastic, and everything is so efficient and organised. My sister and I are so relieved to have found such a fantastic place. Thank you so much for such amazing care.

Mum went in for respite while we were away for a few days. Mum had previously gone into another care home in the area and hated it so she was very nervous about going in but she loved it so much she wanted to go back which I am delighted with as I was slightly nervous about leaving her but I didn’t have to worry. All the staff are super friendly and caring, everyone made her feel welcome. She loved doing the arts and crafts activity, she was able to have her hair done which she loved. The home was super clean and smelt lovely. The meals were divine and Mum came out liking more food than when she went in. I would definitely recommend this care home to anyone and if Mum is happy then so am I. Mum will definitely be going back and she even would like to stay permanently which is a definite recommendation in itself.

I was in Salisbury Manor for respite care after open heart surgery. The staff were most helpful, kind and caring, with a real understanding of my situation.
The home is fresh and clean, having been recently refurbished. The staff were kind and met any needs. The food was tasty and cooked on-site, and the activities for residents were available should they want them.

I was looked after exceptionally well.

I am so delighted that we made the decision to move my aunt to your home. She was welcomed and felt immediately at home. Every time I visit, she is in the lounge enjoying attention and company and is happy! The staff are excellent, the food restaurant quality, and the facilities, including her room, are beautiful. It feels as though she is enjoying a stay in a five-star hotel with attentive staff, and she has truly blossomed since her move here. Thank you, Sailsbury Manor.

Overall Experience
I visited a resident twice over Christmas. The second time on boxing day, together with his brother monks. We were invited to share a beautiful lunch in the downstairs dining room. It was like a meal in a high-class restaurant with a menu for the meal with choices of main and sweet courses. Two caterers served the food.
The bedroom is very comfortable, with a full ensuite bathroom. The bed can be moved electrically to different positions. TV is standard. The décor and fittings are of a high class.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. Tea and biscuits were served to us. There is a high staff-to-resident ratio, and the security is not oppressive, allowing residents to feel freedom.

From the moment of a very last-minute enquiry to my dad's final days Salisbury Manor has been nothing but caring, supportive, helpful, friendly and every other positive description I can find. Really, they have been second to none. Treating my dear dad with dignity, individuality, love and kindness. Not only that but the care support has been efficient, attentive and appropriate. Every single member of staff touched us with kindness, even the subject of fees was sensitively approached. The home is newly furnished with good communal rooms and the chefs are on point, producing appropriate food. I just wish I'd found you sooner.

Accepted my Mother who had a stroke plus dementia at very short notice. her previous care home was failing to provide adequate care. The whole admission procedure was performed efficiently and with empathy. Once at Salisbury Manor my mother has thrived rather than being confined to bed, all aspects of her care are excellent and provided by an incredible team. Thank you with all of my heart.

A first-rate care home. The carers are welcoming and warm and seem to be having very good training in their roles. Important to have a manager that is seen and present and that is the case in Salisbury Manor. I feel very confident leaving my Mother in their care.

My friend has her relative at the home and I recently visited her mother.
The home is not the place it used to be, it did not have the same atmosphere, happy and inviting, as it had on my past visits.
There are renovation works about to start and the home seems very empty and sad.
I did not see any activities the afternoon I visited and there was very little interaction with the residents.

This is such a shame as the home used to be such a nice place to visit my friend.

My father has been a resident of Salisbury Manor for over two years. In that time, he has been looked after wonderfully, despite Covid and lockdown restrictions. The staff look after him with the utmost compassion and good humour. Great activities that cater for both men and women. Just last week, he was taken to the Army Museum for the day, and his favourite carer came in on her day off. That epitomises all that is Salisbury Manor. A caring, kind and happy place!

Tracey Pearce
Tracey PearceJob Title Home Manager

I joined Salisbury Manor because I wanted to make a difference. Every day is different, and I love how Care UK ensures that residents are living fulfilling lives. It's important that we are not only respectful of each other, but also of the fact that this is the residents’ home, and it is a privilege to support them.

I qualified as a nurse in 2003 – it was such a dream. Even today, I feel proud to be a nurse. I have worked in a variety of roles and gained different experiences. Before working at Salisbury Manor, I was a Deputy Ward Sister at New Hall Hospital for two years, and before that, I spent 19 years at Salisbury Hospital.

I believe that to bea Home Manager, you need to lead by example. We are here to serve residents and make their lives fulfilled, so it’s important to be supportive and ready to listen. You also need to empower the team and help them to learn and grow.
