We are so pleased how my father is being cared for physically as well as mentally. Nothing is too much trouble, it is a home from home and we feel welcome to visit anytime. Immaculately clean and the food and menus are superb.
We know the carers by name and they are all very friendly.

Although my husband was only in Chiltern Grange for 1 week I was very impressed. He had a sunny room which gave him the peace he had not had whilst in hospital. The nursing staff were very kind and caring. The kitchen was available for visitors to make drinks for themselves, which for me was very important.
The lounges on each floor were comfortable and inviting. The activities for residents appeared interesting but unfortunately, my husband was not able to join in. He died on January 26th and I received great compassion from everyone. The manager was very helpful. I was so grateful that his last week of life was made so comfortable.

Chiltern Grange was the ideal place for a respite stay. The staff are friendly, welcoming and always happy to help. The room was spacious with a lovely garden view. The home and surrounding grounds are beautifully maintained. There was a range of activities for all abilities. The food was excellent
and our mother was able to gain some much-needed strength and confidence. Her stay was a crucial turning point and we are so grateful to all involved.

My 94-year-old resident experienced the first four years of life at Chiltern Grange Care Home. Standards during this time were far from satisfactory. - 9 managers of poor management ability. Lack of activities, often poor food standards. Porthaven still saw fit to apply annual fee increases.
Since
the current manager was appointed the home has been transformed, maintaining consistency and continuity of capable staff. There is a happy atmosphere and the staff generally have a very caring attitude.

For the time being, I use this care home for my respite only. I am planning for 3, 2 week periods providing things stay as they are, however, if things go downhill, I will hope to place my wife here on a full-time basis. I am very happy with all aspects of the care home.

Excellent rooms and facilities. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Dad is treated very well, with great care and dignity, and is always clean, well dressed and well fed. Staff always welcome me whenever I visit. I visit regularly at all times of day and have never found anything that concerns me.

In September my mum had to visit her sister in Ireland who is very poorly. So dad came to Chiltern Grange, for as we liked to call it 'a little holiday' for him.
As a family, the whole experience has been made so much easier due to the care of the amazing staff, the cleanliness and their kindness.
Food and the restaurant staff were so kind and caring, including family members without any fuss.
The respect and kindness the staff show to the residents was a great comfort to the family.
Thank you to each and everyone, the staff were all very welcoming and I'm sure dad will be back when mum needs a break.

During mums three-year stay, I set high and demanding expectations especially having cared for her for the year before myself. The home made the last year of her life such a manageable and unexpectedly pleasurable experience allowing me to become a son again instead of a carer. The home deserves the

Initially very nervous but in fairness to my daughter's concern for me and distance and health, I agreed to come and see Chiltern Grange Care Home what a surprise was hooked beautiful and very caring place with comfortable surrounding and gardens. I’ve stayed in a few places for respite and found Chiltern Grange easily the best. Care started before arrival – simple things like checking exactly what equipment was needed and ordering a taxi to meet me at the station. All the staff were forever cheerful and ready to help with anything. The whole
place is spacious and airy; unlike modern day hospitals they believe in fresh air, so open windows.


Incredible food: the chef is imaginative – where else would you find a starter of smoked chicken and quail egg, with watercress?

There are plenty of activities, talks by visiting experts, and outings. Also lots of board games and a wide variety of books and magazines in the lounges.


Lovely gardens with plenty of chairs and tables dotted around for sitting in the sunshine.

I can visit anytime and do so frequently without warning. My husband is always clean and appropriately dressed. He eats well and staff are aware of, and cater to, his preferences. Staff try hard to stimulate the various interests of residents and always appear caring and kind. I am very grateful
as I could not cope alone with his dementia as it became more severe. Respite was offered initially and I was not pressured into making a decision. I am also impressed with the medical cover.

A move into a care home can be a daunting experience but all the staff we have encountered at Chiltern Grange have gone out of their way to make my dad feel at home. Nothing has been too much trouble for them, from particular food requests to cups of tea, everything has been done with a cheery smile.
From
my perspective, I couldn't be happier with his decision to become a resident of Chiltern Grange as I know the care he is receiving is of a very high standard and just as important to us both is the friendliness and willingness of the staff helping to care for him on a daily basis. As my dad is a new resident he hasn't yet had the opportunity to engage in activities.

Hello, my name is Jackie Chicken, and I am the Client Services Manager here at Chiltern Grange.


Having previously worked in the retirement sector for four years, I was delighted to make the move into the care sector in 2022. My previous career was spent in the luxury travel industry, so delivering excellent customer service has always been high on my agenda.


Porthaven has a wonderful reputation in terms of quality of care and beautiful design, so I feel very privileged to work for one of the best care providers in the country. My role at Chiltern Grange means I am the first point of contact for families starting out on that journey to find the best fit in terms of a caring environment for their loved ones. I love the fact that we provide person-centred care, and I really enjoy showcasing the wonderful facilities, newly refurbished spaces and exceptional staff we are fortunate enough to have here at Chiltern Grange.


Outside of work, you can find me as a chaperone in the wings of a theatre supporting my daughter or cheering my son on from the side of a rugby pitch!
