I can visit anytime and do so frequently without warning. My husband is always clean and appropriately dressed. He eats well and staff are aware of, and cater to, his preferences. Staff try hard to stimulate the various interests of residents and always appear caring and kind. I am very grateful
as I could not cope alone with his dementia as it became more severe. Respite was offered initially and I was not pressured into making a decision. I am also impressed with the medical cover.

A move into a care home can be a daunting experience but all the staff we have encountered at Chiltern Grange have gone out of their way to make my dad feel at home. Nothing has been too much trouble for them, from particular food requests to cups of tea, everything has been done with a cheery smile.
From
my perspective, I couldn't be happier with his decision to become a resident of Chiltern Grange as I know the care he is receiving is of a very high standard and just as important to us both is the friendliness and willingness of the staff helping to care for him on a daily basis. As my dad is a new resident he hasn't yet had the opportunity to engage in activities.

From the first telephone enquiry to organising the care for my relative, to the whole of her respite stay at the home - the staff and surroundings at Chiltern Grange were excellent. It is a friendly, professionally run home with truly caring, efficient staff. The food is fantastic, the atmosphere is
like a family-run hotel and we will definitely be coming back.
Oh, and the view from the lounges and terraces is charming, and there is a lot of space and light!

So, you are among those unfortunate people who have had unhappy experiences with the care of loved ones. May I suggest you look no further than Chiltern Grange towards resolving your problem?
I have just spent nine days as a guest of the establishment, visiting a dear friend and resident. Throughout,
I have received nothing but help, friendliness and courtesy from the entire management and staff and have observed the same gentle care bestowed upon my friend. In addition to the good quality of the building and interior, there is a well-groomed garden and spacious patio with garden furniture and - with which to enjoy the great outdoors.

My aunt fell in love with Chiltern Grange on the first visit and spent the next two weeks eagerly awaiting her respite stay.
She was particularly taken with the traditional decor and friendly faces as we were shown around. Since she moved in permanently, mid-April, she has made new friends and has
put on a much needed 10kg thanks to the delicious meals.
There is a lovely view of the garden from the living room where residents enjoy a chat and cup of tea. It was a big step moving into a care home at the age of 96 but Chiltern Grange really is very homely and the carers couldn't be more attentive.

Prior to my mother moving into Chiltern Grange Care Home in April 2017, my wife and I visited 22 care homes, some excellent, some good and a lot bad. In our opinion out of these 22 homes, only 6 were acceptable. Chiltern Grange was one of these.
Chiltern Grange was the very first place we visited and
after 22 care home visits, came out on top.

Such an incredibly warm, friendly and helpful place. :-) Mum was in just for a short recovery after a stroke but the help and advice we received beforehand was just fantastic.


The staff were so friendly and helpful and did everything they could to settle mum in. Was such a blessing to find such

Sadly we have seen a decline in the standard of care services and resident activities over the past year at Chiltern Grange which has led to us, in the end, to move our mother to another home. This is not the normal standard for a Porthaven home which as a family we have always had the highest regard
for, so I'm not sure why the problems still continue at this particular care home. Three care home managers in one year have not helped with communication generally.

I was not aware of Chiltern Grange Care Home when I was looking for a suitable care home for my elderly mother. I was initially looking for respite care whilst some necessary work was being carried out in my mother's home. None was available in her hometown but one of them recommended trying Chiltern
Grange. I contacted them and arranged a visit. I was made very welcome, advised of all the services available and then shown around. The home felt very calm, relaxed and beautifully presented, I was very impressed. I discussed my mother's needs and was able to choose a room for her subject to me making a decision for her to move there. After a review with the Senior Nurse and information from her Doctor, it was agreed that a short stay would not be beneficial as my mum is diagnosed with Alzheimer's dementia. Mum moved into the home at the beginning of October. She was made very welcome and comfortable, has a beautiful room with 24/7 nursing and dementia care and has settled really well.

Moved my mother to Chiltern Grange Care Home from another home for; Proximity to my home, quality of the setting, layout and facilities, flexibility to meet her potential future needs (middle and top floors).
She took some time to "settle" after the disruption of the move and change of scene with one
minor hiccup that seems to have been dealt with sensitively and she now seems more settled.

My mother has been at Chiltern Grange for a year. She did find it difficult adapting to her changed circumstances but the staff were very caring. At first, we were not convinced that there were enough activities but that has improved immeasurably over the past 6 months. The staff are very sensitive
to my mother's needs and treat her in a caring manner. While maintaining her sense of dignity. The new manager is excellent in assessing her moods and treating with respect.

Mum comes in for regular respite she is always welcomed and well looked after. She is comfortable and happy there. For myself as an only child it is a great relief to have her cared for.

The care and attention that my mother has received since moving into Chiltern Grange has been exceptional. All of the nurses are very professional, friendly and nothing is too much trouble for them to provide when asked. Hello, my name is Jackie Chicken, and I am the Client Services Manager here at Chiltern Grange.


Having previously worked in the retirement sector for four years, I was delighted to make the move into the care sector in 2022. My previous career was spent in the luxury travel industry, so delivering excellent customer service has always been high on my agenda.


Porthaven has a wonderful reputation in terms of quality of care and beautiful design, so I feel very privileged to work for one of the best care providers in the country. My role at Chiltern Grange means I am the first point of contact for families starting out on that journey to find the best fit in terms of a caring environment for their loved ones. I love the fact that we provide person-centred care, and I really enjoy showcasing the wonderful facilities, newly refurbished spaces and exceptional staff we are fortunate enough to have here at Chiltern Grange.


Outside of work, you can find me as a chaperone in the wings of a theatre supporting my daughter or cheering my son on from the side of a rugby pitch!
