The care given to my father during the last weeks of his life 2was excellent in every respect. The staff looked after him with such kindness and compassion whilst always preserving his dignity.
They provided wonderful support for the entire family and we will always be grateful to every one of them
for the thoughtful and considerate way in which they eased his passing.

I recently made twice daily visits to my sister during two weeks spent at Brentwood. Prior to that, I had visited my sister and her husband a number of times over the previous 3 years before his passing last month. I had always been impressed by the warm, friendly and welcoming atmosphere within The
Beeches and the beautiful, spacious and attractively decorated and furnished rooms and leisure areas. Most recently, I had spent the days chatting and joining in activities with my sister and other residents, and all personnel there I hold in the highest regard - no matter their role - each was dedicated, delightful and welcoming which couldn’t help but “rub off” on all those they care for. If there was a score - I would have to give them at least 100%.

My Dad came to The Beeches just 3 weeks ago after a very traumatic hospital stay. The whole family are thrilled to see the progress he has made, which is due to the wonderful care and kindness of your staff. Every day we find him dressed and well presented. He tells us that staff take an interest in
his life and the pressure sores he got from his hospital stay are beginning to heal. We cannot recommend The Beeches highly enough. Thank you.

We have visited our friend on many occasions and have always been impressed with the surroundings, along with the service. As I am limited to the characters I can use, I cannot explain in full everything that we would like to address:
1. Food, quality and presentation
2. Staff shortages, one lady
we understand looking after two floors of residents
3. Security, signing in process
As mentioned we would like to explain in full but as we are only allowed up to 1,000 characters, it is difficult to explain our concerns. We hope these issues will be addressed. Many thanks.

I will raise your concerns with regards to the food and presentation with the Chef to ensure that the food is good quality, nutritious and looks appetizing. In regards to about the staffing levels at the home, these are continually monitored and reviewed and we increase the levels depending on the needs and wants of our Residents. Finally, your comment regarding security has been noted and something we take seriously, we ensure that all visitors are asked to sign in at reception, apologies if this was not the case when you visited the home and we will be reviewing the process in light of the issues you have raised.

My aunt arrived as an urgent respite care resident and was warmly received. She has since become a permanent resident and could not be happier. The attitude and care shown by all the staff is exemplary. Nurses are so efficient and kind, it makes all the medical issues so much easier for her to tolerate.
Everyone, without exception, has been wonderful.

The acting manager is always happy to give time to meet with family or respond to emails regarding any concerns in a timely and sympathetic manner. There are numerous members of staff in all departments (including care and finance) who can be contacted via email individually regarding queries and these
emails are always answered. The environment is beautiful and clean. Staff are friendly.

My sister died last Sunday 9th September and I cannot stress the care and kindness that was shown to her, her husband and myself by the carers and nursing staff. I will always be grateful.

The care I received through the journey of end of life treatment with my mother was way beyond what I would have expected. The staff and management all rallied myself and my family and supported along the emotional journey.
I can wholeheartedly say I have never met such caring people who made the end
of life experience relaxed and supported.

Management and staff did everything possible. Mother struggled with the change in her circumstances, however, everything possible was done for her. Their patience and caring attitude towards her was heartfelt. They were kind and showed concern for me too.

I have volunteered here now for approximately five years. I have found full-time staff very good and knowledgeable of their roles. Whatever their roles, always ready to help the residents.
Residents themselves are well cared for I find. There appears to be a good harmony on both sides.
I have volunteered
in other establishments, and find Signature to be excellent. Hence I now give them all my spare time.
Should I ever need this kind of service, I would love to be here.

I have found all the staff at The Beeches very welcoming. Extremely polite and eager to settle my father into his new surroundings. The catering staff and housekeeping staff are very friendly and always address my father by his name and stop to chat. The caregivers are all attentive and cheerful and
have encouraged my father to take part in activities when he so desires. The management and reception are always willing to help and make time to talk.

My wife developed dementia and I was to be the carer but I had to go into hospital for open heart surgery to replace the aortic valve and do a bypass so I had to sell my house so we both could go into care at Beeches.
Her dementia got steadily worse and she eventually died on 25th October 2017.
During
this time she was cared for 24 hours a day, kept clean, despite being doubly incontinent and a dementia case.
The carers without exception were patient, sympathetic and she lacked for nothing.
This I feel shows they were all sympathetic and patient to a very high degree regardless of the demands.

First class experience from the first day when we visited the facility to check suitability for our father. The most impressive part is the staff at all levels of the organisation and the way they work as a team.
The result has been that our father has been very happy to be here despite all the reservations
he had about entering a care home before he came here.
In fact, compared with other care homes, The Beeches doesn't come across as a care home, it is more like a hotel with animation and participation from a professional, caring and smiling staff attentive to the individual needs of their guests.

My initial impression of the management and the staff working in The Beeches was very good, which is why I chose to bring my father to look around. I think that we both felt comfortable here because it was obvious that the caring and warm approach to residents came directly from the top.
The staff
work hard and have a very 'can do' attitude which contributes enormously to the well being of the residents. The time my father has spent here has been precious.

The last 5 months that my mother spent in The Beeches has exceeded our wildest dreams. The level of care has been excellent and she enjoyed her stay enormously.
As a family, we found all staff so kind and caring. It made a difficult time so much easier to bear.
We cannot thank the general manager,
dementia care manager and all the staff enough.
We will not hesitate to recommend The Beeches in the future.

Jana Krapkova

Job Title: Dementia Care Manager Joined: 2015

After finishing a Business Course in the Czech Republic, I started as a carer, looking after people with mental health problems.
When I moved to England, in 2007, I originally worked as a carer in a home near Watford. At the time, my manager offered me the position of Senior Carer/Training Co-Ordinator in Romford, so I relocated to Essex.


I was looking after young, physically disabled people. I found my passion for palliative care as we worked closely with St Francis Hospice.
Years later I was promoted to Home Based Trainer and provided mandatory training to all staff. I had the opportunity to travel around different homes in the area and study a course provided by Bradford University: “Person First, Dementia Second”. After that, I knew I had to go back into care.


I have been at The Beeches since October 2015. I started as a Lead Carer and have now worked my way up as a Dementia Care Manager. I love it here and really feel like I make a difference to our residents.
