My catheter was changed by one of the nurses, it was the last person to ever change it. It has been done before by district nurses and staff at the hospitals. They explained to me step by step what they were doing and put me at ease.

Kendal Care Home did an excellent job of looking after Dad.
The staff were always attentive and went out of their way to help out.

The home itself is very welcoming with staff, always on hand to help out. Dad was well cared for and his needs were well met, it was always reassuring to know he was in good capable hands. A very well done to all.

I find this care home excellent. Staff are very helpful and some go out of their way if you get confused about something that you don't understand. I don't believe how they can keep their patience because some patients are very awkward and moan a lot. They don't know how lucky we are to have such a nice place and such a lovely place.

Our Auntie has been in Kendal Care Home since January 2023. During the 15 months, we have been very pleased with the level of care she has received and lately in her last 3 months the staff have been exceptional, from the cleaners to the managers, they have shown great compassion and the carers are to be very much admired for all they do. Great team at Kendal.

My mum spent her last three weeks at the wonderful Kendal Care Home. It was her third care home and was by far the best. We will always be grateful to the truly exceptional staff. The care and compassion shown to Mum during her short stay was just incredible.

The manager, the nursing staff, the receptionists in fact everyone we encountered was friendly and genuinely caring. What a truly amazing group of people!

My mum went into Kendal Care Home direct from Hospital recovering from a fractured hip operation. As a family, we had been so fortunate to meet the manager when he held the same position at the residential care home where Mum lived at that time. When we needed a nursing placement the choice was so simple. What a wonderful home the manager and his team have built. The “house” runs like clockwork, the staff are exceptional and the care Mum received was simply outstanding. During 25 years working as a business agent selling care homes, I visited hundreds of homes in the north of England and Kendal Care Home is simply the best I have ever come across. I would urge anyone looking for care to look no further than Kendal Care Home.

Respite care was available at the perfect time, such a relief to know my sister-in-law was being looked after while I sorted some things to make living at home easier. The home always seems clean and there are always activities going on. All staff are really friendly and approachable, from the manager to the carers and reception staff.

My husband was admitted to the care home earlier this year. I had a few reservations about this huge step in both our lives but due to his mental health problems I could no longer care for him.

I was concerned the staff would not be able to cope with him and he would not receive the care he deserved. How wrong I was. All the staff quickly showed how experienced and caring they were. I felt he was in a warm welcoming environment All the staff are friendly, caring and quickly assessed the best way they could help him. From initially dreading to going to see him and saying goodbye at the end of the visit I am now reassured he is in the best possible place he could be.

I honestly can’t thank every single member of the team at Kendal Care Home enough for everything they do. My mother has some very complex health needs and for the past 2 years we have seen no light until Kendal Care Home saved us, all members of the team are supportive not only of my mum but of myself.
My mum's health is improving and the interaction from all departments with my mum is excellent I can honestly say my mum is in safe hands and the home itself isn’t like any other this home feels like a family with all the staff supporting in the best way they can.
The compassion shown by every member of the team is exceptional, my mother will never be how she used to but she now has a better quality of life and that’s all she has ever wanted.

We will always be grateful for everything you have all done from the bottom of our hearts thank you for bringing us some hope when we thought there was none. You have made an amazing difference in my mother’s life.

Today was Mum's first day as a resident at Kendal Care Home and I felt I just had to leave a review to say how wonderfully welcoming the staff and the other residents were towards my mum.

Mum had been very nervous about her planned move into residential care, worried that she would be left to find her own way and overwhelmed by the newness of it all, but she needn't have worried as she was made to feel special and one of the family from the outset. it was clear to me that Kendal Care Home is a very special place with a caring and dedicated staff who go out of their way to make their residents feel at home. Thank you so much!

My mother was admitted to a very nice, clean room on the 1st floor in January 2024. In spite of being 105, she'd had a hip replacement, following a fall. She was in discomfort and often in pain. The staff treated her gently and with respect. They kept a close eye on her pain control. The nurses always had time for us to discuss concerns. We and Mum were treated with compassion, even giving us hugs when Mum passed away.

Thank you all, from reception staff to the cleaners. My mother is a resident on nursing.
I'm generally there 3 times a week. I cannot fault anything with Mum's care. All the staff are friendly and appear to actually love their residents. They do all sorts of activities. The food looks amazing. It really is like 'home from home.'

My mum is happy and content and beautifully cared for. Who could ask for more?
