My husband was admitted to the care home earlier this year. I had a few reservations about this huge step in both our lives but due to his mental health problems I could no longer care for him.
I was concerned the staff would not be able to cope with him and he would not receive the care he deserved.
How wrong I was. All the staff quickly showed how experienced and caring they were. I felt he was in a warm welcoming environment All the staff are friendly, caring and quickly assessed the best way they could help him. From initially dreading to going to see him and saying goodbye at the end of the visit I am now reassured he is in the best possible place he could be.

I honestly can’t thank every single member of the team at Kendal Care Home enough for everything they do. My mother has some very complex health needs and for the past 2 years we have seen no light until Kendal Care Home saved us, all members of the team are supportive not only of my mum but of myself.
My mum's health is improving and the interaction from all departments with my mum is excellent I can honestly say my mum is in safe hands and the home itself isn’t like any other this home feels like a family with all the staff supporting in the best way they can.
The compassion shown by every member of the team is exceptional, my mother will never be how she used to but she now has a better quality of life and that’s all she has ever wanted.
We will always be grateful for everything you have all done from the bottom of our hearts thank you for bringing us some hope when we thought there was none. You have made an amazing difference in my mother’s life.

Today was Mum's first day as a resident at Kendal Care Home and I felt I just had to leave a review to say how wonderfully welcoming the staff and the other residents were towards my mum.
Mum had been very nervous about her planned move into residential care, worried that she would be left to find
her own way and overwhelmed by the newness of it all, but she needn't have worried as she was made to feel special and one of the family from the outset. it was clear to me that Kendal Care Home is a very special place with a caring and dedicated staff who go out of their way to make their residents feel at home. My mum was very lucky to spend her last weeks at Kendal Care Home. The staff are so kind and helpful and they did everything to make my mum as comfortable as she could be. I have no reservations in recommending Kendal Care Home to any others who need nursing care.

My mother was admitted to a very nice, clean room on the 1st floor in January 2024. In spite of being 105, she'd had a hip replacement, following a fall. She was in discomfort and often in pain. The staff treated her gently and with respect. They kept a close eye on her pain control. The nurses always
had time for us to discuss concerns. We and Mum were treated with compassion, even giving us hugs when Mum passed away.

Thank you all, from reception staff to the cleaners. My mother is a resident on nursing.
I'm generally there 3 times a week. I cannot fault anything with Mum's care. All the staff are friendly and appear to actually love their residents. They do all sorts of activities. The food looks amazing. It
really is like 'home from home.'
My mum is happy and content and beautifully cared for. Who could ask for more?

The manager and his staff at Kendal Care Home have gone above and beyond to help us with my dad. His care has been kind, caring and dignified. Without exception, all the staff were friendly, kind and helpful to our family when visiting.

All the staff put in 100% effort to ensure my parents celebrated their 71st wedding anniversary with style. Friends were invited from both outside the home and residents within the care home.
The conservatory was decorated especially with yellow roses, the food was delicious, music chosen with care
and entertainment first class. Staff came to offer congratulations with tears in their eyes. Genuine affection. Thank you so much.

My mother was a resident of Kendal Care Home for approximately 10 weeks, until her death in early July. During her stay she gradually became frailer and in need of more care. She was also often confused and anxious about her future. I have nothing but praise for the compassionate, thoughtful, and conscientious
way in which she was treated by the staff of the home. Her needs weren't just met, they were anticipated. She was the grateful recipient of many small acts of kindness, freely given, which were above and beyond the call of duty. I felt reassured that she was safe and well looked after and will always be thankful for the enormous sensitivity shown to Mum. This made a huge and positive difference in her final weeks. Thank you.

My mum was a resident for just a short time (expected it to be longer) and I can honestly say that I/we couldn't have wished for anywhere better for her to stay. The staff are absolutely incredible and a credit to their profession. The management are so approachable and friendly and nothing was too
much trouble. The room that Mum had was beautifully decorated and colour-coordinated with her own on-suite bathroom which she liked. It was immaculately clean! The reception area is light and bright and it's almost like your walking into a 5* hotel. The reception team were exceptionally welcoming and it felt like we had known them for years. The nursing staff who looked after Mum were compassionate, understanding, patient and most of all, dedicated.
Mum had at least four favourite carers but one in particular. She was able to have a laugh and a joke with them which she loved and they in turn loved it also. Thank you with all my heart. I will never forget you!

I live locally and I am able to visit every day. My overriding impression is of the gentle and sympathetic and caring attitude of the staff which reflects well on the management.
Communication has been very good when required. The rooms and facilities are excellent and cleaned each day. I haven't sampled
the food but the menu offers excellent choices.
I only have one slight reservation. This relates to the second-floor dining room. The residents are sometimes messy eaters and the tables are not cleared immediately after meals. This is not good for residents or visitors.
It was disappointing later to observe that the dining room on the lower floor was immaculate.

Having attended two events in June (BBQ and afternoon tea) I want to express my thanks and appreciation to all the staff at Kendal Care Home for their attentiveness and patience shown to all the residents. Staff seem to know everyone by first name and always have a smile and a greeting. Nothing is too
much trouble. Keep up the great work, my mind is comforted knowing my family is cared for in such a wonderful place.
